…
The status display of the Blood Holy Scripture had undergone significant changes compared to before.
Charlotte noticed the changes in the clan and bloodline section at a glance.
Previously, her bloodline description was "Royal Authority bloodline" and "Half-Elf", but now, possibly due to the effects of her second crossing and Lilith's First Embrace, the Holy Scripture had directly identified her as a "Bloodline Ancestor".
Her Transcendent Rank had also risen to Blood Count, but considering her demigod status, the word "Sealed" was appended as an explanation.
Beyond that, she had gained a display for a new Transcendent Position, identified as "Demigod".
There were changes on the Ability Unlock section too, mainly with True Ancestor Liberation changing into Saint State.
This indicated that in the Holy Scripture's judgment, the former Charlotte needed external assistance to achieve the "True Ancestor Liberation" state, but now, she merely had to enter the "Saint State" to be a "True Ancestor".
In short... every word and line exuded the "Holy Scripture's recognition".
And after that, the greatest change was in the Believers section.
Forty-seven thousand five hundred fifty-three... even five more believers than when she had first awakened and checked, it was ridiculous.
But what Charlotte cared about most was the Descendants of Blood section.
This section was displaying gibberish!
No...
To be more precise, it was as though the names of the Descendants of Blood had been erased.
Was this a "time travel" bug?
Or was it related to Lilith's disappearance?
Charlotte pondered thoughtfully.
"Lord Charlotte, what are you thinking about?"
"Aren't you cold? I have brought the clothes for you to change into."
Nisi's voice interrupted her thoughts.
She suppressed her musings and refocused on the present, looking at the clothes Nisi had taken out of the storage space.
The garment was the same as the one Nisi had worn when she had burst into the secret chamber— a noblewoman's long robe.
Of course, it was new; Nisi didn't have the audacity to make Charlotte wear a garment it had worn.
"Hmm, very well, just put it there."
Charlotte nodded.
As she picked up the long robe for women, her actions paused slightly.
"Lord Charlotte, aren't you going to change?"
Nisi asked obediently.
Charlotte gave it a cold glance.
Nisi immediately got the hint, let out a nervous laugh, and quickly turned its head away.
Charlotte, not wishing to engage with it any further, promptly kicked it out of the secret chamber, then locked the door and began to change into the new clothes.
Regrettably, the garment was too intricate. Having always had handmaidens for dressing, she actually did not know how to wear it.
Calling someone for assistance again seemed inappropriate, so after some thought, Charlotte utilized her Demon Contract to perform a Demon Summoning.
A blood-red glow emerged, and three enchanting demonesses appeared in the secret chamber in front of Charlotte, after three Demon Summoning Arrays materialized and the light subsided.
The demonesses were slightly stunned at first, but as soon as they sensed Charlotte's aura, they quickly started to shiver:
"Great... great master, may I ask...what do you command?"
They inquired, trembling with fear.
"Help me change my clothes."
Charlotte pointed towards the noble robe to her side.
Then... she changed into the noble robe with the trembling service of three Enchanting Demons.
Looking at herself in the crystal mirror, Charlotte nodded with satisfaction and then she "sent" the three gratefully relieved Enchanting Demons back to the different space.
After that, Charlotte left the secret chamber.
Nisi was still waiting outside the secret room.
Upon seeing Charlotte who had changed her clothing, she quickly approached, her face eager to please:
"Lord Charlotte!"
Charlotte nodded slightly.
"Let's go back to my study, and on the way, tell me what has happened in these past few months."
Charlotte and Nisi's identity swap had not alarmed anyone.
Leaving the secret chamber and walking down the corridor back to the study at Count Mansion, the passing maids and knights all bowed to her in respect.
However, Charlotte couldn't tell if it was her imagination, but she felt as though there was a particularly joyful atmosphere in Count Mansion; the passing maids and knights seemed to be in a very good mood; it was almost written on their faces.
Not only that, Charlotte also acutely noticed that their attitude towards her was even more respectful.
How to put it...
As the Northern Land Master and the owner of Count Mansion, the serving maids and knights were already very respectful, but the respect they were showing now seemed somewhat different.
If she had to compare, it reminded Charlotte of the respect shown to her by the subjects of the Free City State during her second crossing.
But it wasn't quite the same as that respect; that was as a form of faith, while the maids and knights of Count Mansion were not her believers.
Their kind of respect seemed more to do with identity and position.
So... what exactly happened in these months?
Why have these people become more and more respectful towards her?
Was it because she had obtained the Romany Duchy and became Duke Roman?
Charlotte was somewhat puzzled and curious.
But it wouldn't be appropriate for her to directly inquire.
After some thought, it seemed her only option was to seek answers from Nisi.
Back in her study and seated in her familiar chair, Nisi eagerly served her the prepared sweet milk.
Charlotte took a sip from the cup, quite satisfied.
For most of the last half-month of her second crossing, she had been longing for a good drink.
After finishing the milk, Charlotte was in a good mood.
Then, she voiced her doubts:
"Tell me, what has happened these past few months? Why do I feel like the atmosphere in Count Mansion is different as soon as I return?"
"Has the Romany Duchy been transferred to us yet? And... what do you mean by the decision that will determine the fate of Falling Star Kingdom?"
Looking at the curious expression on Charlotte, Nisi's face twisted into a strange look:
"The Romany Duchy... hasn't been reclaimed, um... more accurately, I don't know whether or not it should be reclaimed."
"Hmm? What do you mean you don't know whether it should be reclaimed?"
Charlotte was slightly taken aback.
Nisi's expression became even weirder:
"That depends on you, whether you want the Romany Duchy, or say, the entire Falling Star Kingdom."
"The entire Falling Star Kingdom?"
Charlotte looked puzzled.
"Yes, the entire Falling Star Kingdom."
Nisi nodded.
Having said that, it looked towards Charlotte with a rather subtle expression:
"Lord Charlotte, you are unaware, two months ago, Falling Star King Edward III succumbed to severe injuries and passed away in the Falling Star Red Palace..."
"On his deathbed, Edward III vehemently denounced the various sins of the Red Lilac Family and the side branch of the Purple Lilac, revealing the complicity of the Red Lilac Family with the Bloodline and the conspiracy of the Purple Lilac side branch to assassinate the Royal Family."
"He tore up the agreement with the Red Lilac Family and did not specify an heir from among them; instead, he appointed you, daughter of Anne the Devout and princess of Falling Star Kingdom, as his heir..."
"As it was a unilateral contract denunciation, this last-minute appointment did not receive recognition from the two Lilac clans, who together, supported by Nais Bloodline, 'elected' Duke Esiah, bearing both bloodlines, as the new King of Falling Star."
"However... the actions of the two Lilac families were not recognized by the Falling Star nobility, as both the Noble Council of Falling Star and the Roman Royal Family of the Romany Duchy refused to acknowledge the new king's legitimacy."
"Instead... they support you, appointed by Edward III, and advocate for you to become the Falling Star Queen."
"With both sides unwavering and at odds, the current state of Falling Star Kingdom... is on the brink of civil war..."
