CHAPTER 328: CHAPTER 328: SELENA

The classroom went silent the moment the teacher spoke.

"We have a new student joining us today," she announced.

Everyone’s eyes turned to the door. A girl walked in slowly, her footsteps calm and steady. She had bright blue hair that looked so unique that everyone whispered at once.

Her eyes were cold and distant, like she did not care about anyone here. Yet, when she swept her gaze around the classroom, her eyes suddenly stopped when she saw Mia.

For the first time, her indifferent expression changed, and her eyes sparkled as if she had found something interesting.

Mia felt her heart skip a beat. She stared at the new girl and only two words came to her mind. Beautiful and gorgeous. Not only was the girl pretty, but she also looked cool in a way that made her stand out.

Still, Mia could not deny one thing. Compared to Aurora’s entrance on her first day, this girl’s arrival did not feel as amazing. Aurora had carried herself with confidence and charm that no one could copy.

But then Mia noticed something else. The blue-haired girl kept staring at her. It was like she was looking at Mia with interest. Mia shook her head slightly, not wanting to give herself false hope. She told herself not to think too much.

The teacher pointed to an empty seat. "Go on, sit there," she said.

To Mia’s surprise, the girl walked straight toward her and sat down beside her. Mia blinked and hesitated before deciding to be friendly. She smiled brightly, showing her cheerful side, and held out her hand.

"Hi! My name is Mia. Nice to meet you!" she said.

The girl looked at her hand for a moment, her face calm and unreadable. Then, slowly, she shook Mia’s hand. "Selena," she said simply.

Mia grinned. "That’s a cool name. So, Selena, why did you transfer in the middle of the school year? Not many people do that."

Selena leaned back in her chair, her voice steady.

"I just wanted to change my environment. Some people were bothering me before. So I came here."

She paused for a moment, her eyes glancing at Mia. Then, out of nowhere, she asked, "Are you interested in girls?"

Mia’s cheeks turned bright red. She had not expected such a direct question. She looked down, fidgeting with her pen before whispering, "Yes."

Selena’s lips curved into a small smile. "I thought so. You look really cute."

Mia froze in place, her face heating up even more. She did not know what to say. Aurora, who had been watching from her seat, raised an eyebrow and smirked.

Selena’s eyes turned to Aurora. "And who is she?" she asked.

Mia quickly answered, "That’s Aurora. She’s my best friend."

Selena nodded, but her gaze lingered on Aurora with something like competition in her eyes. Aurora only smiled calmly and looked back at the teacher as if Selena was not worth her attention.

Noticing the tension, Mia leaned closer to Selena and whispered, "Aurora already has a boyfriend. His name is Spencer."

Selena nodded thoughtfully and then chuckled softly. "She is beautiful, though."

Those words hit Mia harder than she expected. Something inside her felt like it had cracked. She realized that even if Selena called her cute, she might eventually see Aurora as more attractive. After all, Mia herself often thought Aurora looked amazing compared to her. Maybe it was only natural.

The teacher began the lecture, and the students slowly turned back to their books. Mia tried to focus, but her mind kept wandering to Selena’s words. She wondered if she was already losing her chance.

By the time class ended, Aurora turned toward Mia and smiled. "What do you want for lunch today? Sandwich or pizza?"

Before Mia could answer, Selena leaned in and asked, "Do you like pizza?"

Mia froze, her face heating up again. "I... I like both. But I love pizza more," she admitted shyly.

Selena smiled warmly. "Me too. I like pizza."

Aurora frowned slightly and said firmly, "Then I’ll bring pizza for you, Mia."

But Selena spoke up right away. "If you want, I can bring you pizza."

Mia’s eyes widened, and even Aurora looked stunned. For a moment, there was silence in the room. Then Aurora turned to Selena with a polite smile, though her voice was sharp.

"If you want to bring food for Mia, you should at least be close to her first before making decisions like that."

Selena raised an eyebrow. "I want to court her. That is why I want to bring her pizza. Isn’t that clear?"

Both Mia and Aurora were shocked. Aurora pointed at her with disbelief. "You are rushing too much. You only met her one period ago. Just one lecture!"

Selena chuckled, her voice calm but filled with confidence. "I like to take action when I like something. That is who I am."

The atmosphere in the classroom grew heavy. Tension spread between Aurora and Selena like invisible sparks. But before things could get worse, Mia quickly stepped in.

"Stop. Please," she said, her voice trembling a little. She turned to Selena. "I appreciate that you like me. Really. But Aurora is still my best friend. That won’t change."

Aurora’s expression softened, and she smiled slightly. Selena, on the other hand, froze for a moment. Then she shrugged and muttered, "Whatever."

Mia quickly tried to fix the mood. She looked at Aurora and said cheerfully, "You can bring me pizza, Aurora. And tomorrow, I’ll bring you your favorite noodles to pay you back."

Aurora smirked, finally looking relaxed again. She stood up, but before she could say anything else, Spencer came over. He had been watching the entire scene quietly.

As Aurora walked out, he followed behind her. "Why are you so tense? Why do you act so hostile toward Selena?" he asked.

Aurora shrugged, but her voice was low. "Because it feels like Mia might get taken away from me. I don’t like that feeling. That is why."
