Born Into Villain's Family: I Have a 200\% Rebate System
Chapter 329: Sel
CHAPTER 329: CHAPTER 329: SEL
Spencer chuckled softly. "You don’t need to worry too much. Selena is impulsive. Look how quickly she confessed to liking Mia after just one class. Who knows what she will think tomorrow?"
Aurora did not laugh. Her face stayed serious. "I don’t think it is just impulsive. The way Selena looks at Mia... it is the same way you look at me. It feels real. And that makes me uneasy. I think Selena is going to be a trouble."
Before she could explain more, Aurora’s phone buzzed. It was a call from Emily.
Aurora’s fingers tightened around her phone as Emily’s calm voice came through the speaker.
"Aurora, I have good news. A new investor just came in. Our sales have shot up again."
Aurora’s breath caught in her throat. She swallowed hard and asked softly, "How much this time?"
Emily’s voice rose with excitement, though she tried to stay professional. "We crossed more than ten million users. The growth is not slowing down. We are now at a stable income of one hundred million dollars a month."
Aurora froze. For a moment, she thought she had misheard. "One hundred... million?" she whispered, her lips barely moving.
"Yes," Emily confirmed firmly. "Your company’s evaluation has officially hit one billion dollars. Aurora, do you realize what that means? You’re now not only a successful investor. You are the owner of a major software company. We might soon even make it to the list of the top fifty companies in the world by net worth."
Aurora sat there in silence, her heartbeat racing. A smile slowly spread across her lips, and her eyes filled with light. She whispered, "So all my hard work really did pay off."
Emily laughed happily on the other end. "Yes, congratulations! This is a turning point. You did it."
Aurora’s cheeks warmed as she nodded even though Emily could not see her. "Thank you, Emily. I... I still can’t believe it."
"Believe it," Emily said. "We are just getting started."
With that, Aurora ended the call and placed her phone down slowly, as if she was afraid the moment might disappear. She turned and saw Spencer watching her closely, waiting for her to speak.
"What happened?" he asked.
Aurora’s face glowed with joy as she stood up, rushed toward him, and hugged him tightly. Her voice was trembling with excitement when she said,
"Spencer, I did it. I built a company. And today that company has reached a one billion dollar evaluation."
Spencer blinked, stunned for a moment, then gave her a proud grin. "You mean... You are officially a billionaire girlfriend? That is unbelievable. I am thrilled for you, Aurora."
He hugged her back, but inside his mind, thoughts swirled. He knew she was celebrating her talent and luck, but he also knew the truth. It was he, Spencer, who had worked secretly behind the scenes.
He had done the marketing, the promotions, the outreach. He had pushed her software to the world. Without him, she might not have gained so many users so quickly. Still, he chose to stay silent.
He did not want to steal her happiness. He wanted to be her hidden hero.
Aurora pulled back, her cheeks flushed, her smile wide. "I cannot believe this happened in just a few days. Maybe I am truly talented."
"Yes, you are," Spencer said softly, nodding. "You really are."
To celebrate, they entered one of the rooms and had a little makeout session.
When Aurora returned with the pizza, her flushed face and swollen lips did not go unnoticed by Selena. Selena raised one eyebrow in interest, a knowing smile playing on her lips. She turned her gaze toward Mia, whose head was lowered.
Selena’s smirk deepened. She leaned down, her lips almost brushing Mia’s ear as she whispered, "Aurora will not be with you. But I can be."
Mia’s eyes widened, her heart skipping. She quickly pulled back and rubbed her ear as if the touch burned her. "Selena... do not get so close," she said softly, her voice trembling with nerves.
Selena chuckled lowly and looked at Mia with calm confidence. "You should not waste yourself on an unrequited love. The one you love already belongs to someone else. You should have someone who belongs to you, too."
Mia’s lips pressed into a thin line. She lifted her chin slightly and said, "You are acting too close. We barely even know each other."
Selena tilted her head and gave her a playful smile. "Then I should reintroduce myself, should I not?"
Mia blinked, caught off guard. "Reintroduce yourself? How?"
Selena extended her hand, her blue hair shimmering under the light. Her voice was calm but carried a hint of warmth. "I am Selena Davis. Your childhood neighbor."
Mia froze. Her eyes widened as she stared at the hand, then at Selena’s face. Her lips parted as shock rushed through her. "Wait... you... you are Sel?" she asked in disbelief.
Selena nodded with a soft smile.
Mia gasped and suddenly broke into a wide grin. "Sel! Oh my gosh, it is you! The girl I used to go to the beach with!"
Selena’s smile grew, her eyes softening as memories passed between them. "Yes. It has been a long time, Mia."
Mia studied her face in wonder. "You have changed so much. I can hardly recognize you. Your hair... it used to be black."
Selena touched a strand of her blue hair, her eyes glinting. "I dyed it. Because blue is your favorite color."
Mia’s mouth fell open. She blinked rapidly before letting out a surprised laugh. "You are joking, right? You would not actually change your hair just for me."
Selena’s gaze remained steady. She shook her head slowly. "I am not joking. I remembered what you liked."
Mia’s laughter softened, turning into quiet disbelief.
The Selena she knew was completely different from the one she was facing now. Her childhood friend was cold and maintained distance. She even got upset over little things.
