Chapter 338: Green Tea
CHAPTER 338: CHAPTER 338: GREEN TEA
Olivia’s lips curled into a small smile. For the first time, she felt some of her anger fading. At least someone in the room had said something with real logic.
Eleanor’s nails dug into her palms. She looked at Mateo pleadingly, her eyes begging him to drop it. Mateo’s jaw clenched. He wanted to keep fighting, but even he could see that things were turning against him. He finally decided to stop.
He turned, dragging Eleanor with him. But just as he brushed past Louis, something unexpected happened. Louis suddenly fell to the ground with a loud thud.
Everyone gasped.
Louis looked up at Mateo with wide, almost innocent eyes. "I never expected you would go so far as to push me down," he said loudly. His voice carried across the room.
Mateo froze, completely stunned. "I... I did not push you!" he stammered.
But before he could say anything more, Louis stood up in one smooth motion and threw a punch. His fist landed squarely on Mateo’s cheek. Mateo stumbled back, shocked.
Then another punch came, and another. Louis moved quickly, his strikes strong and merciless. Mateo could barely defend himself. Eleanor screamed and tried to pull Louis away, but she was too weak.
The class stood frozen in shock. A few students whispered, "Should we stop them?"
Someone answered, "Why? It was Mateo’s fault. He provoked Louis first."
Others nodded quickly. "Yes, he asked for it. Louis is just teaching him a lesson."
Mateo felt despair rising in his chest. He wanted to scream that he had not pushed Louis, that it was a lie. But no one believed him. No one cared to listen. All they saw was Louis beating him down, and all they believed was that Mateo deserved it.
Olivia, on the other hand, felt as if her entire view on green tea had been refreshed completely.
She had always thought of green tea girls as sly and fake, but today she saw another kind of green tea.
This Louis truly knew how to make someone furious, and yet he made it look so natural.
He acted as if he was the victim, but in truth, he was the one pulling the strings from the beginning.
She had seen clearly with her own eyes. It was not Mateo who pushed Louis at all. Louis had purposely fallen on his own, yet with that one small action he turned the entire class against Mateo.
It was perfect acting, flawless, and so convincing that even the teacher might not doubt him.
For the first time, Olivia felt that she had met someone very interesting. He was just like her, but maybe much more advanced. She had always believed herself to be quick-witted, but Louis found a very good excuse to beat up Mateo without looking guilty at all.
He managed to paint himself as the victim while still throwing punches with complete confidence.
Watching him, Olivia felt her whole being become refreshed, as if she had drunk a cup of real good tea after being thirsty for a long time.
Soon, the teacher arrived. Her sharp eyes swept across the classroom and quickly landed on Mateo, who had a swollen cheek and a torn collar. She frowned deeply and stepped inside, her voice filled with authority. "What is going on here?"
The students fell silent immediately. A few looked at each other nervously, but no one dared to speak first.
The teacher’s eyes narrowed, and she looked at Louis and Mateo. "Who started this fight?"
Louis did not look nervous at all. He stood calmly on one side, his expression pure and innocent, almost like a child who had been wrongly blamed.
He bowed his head slightly and said in a soft voice,
"Teacher, it was not me. I never wanted to fight. Mateo was the one who pushed me first. I only defended myself."
His voice was gentle, respectful, and sounded so honest that many students immediately believed him.
Some even nodded to themselves, thinking that Louis really did not look like the type to cause trouble.
Mateo’s face turned red in fury. He shouted, his voice shaking, "I did not push you! You fell on your own! Stop lying, Louis!"
The teacher’s frown deepened, but before she could respond, Louis suddenly turned toward the rest of the classmates. His dark eyes softened, and he looked at them with a pitiful gaze, almost as if he was begging them for help.
"You all saw it, right?" Louis asked softly. "You are responsible students, and I believe you will tell the truth. Please support me."
His words were smooth and carefully chosen, and they fell into the ears of his classmates like a gentle request.
Several students nodded immediately, their expressions showing agreement. Some even whispered, "Yes, Louis is right."
They did not say it loudly, but their nods were enough.
The teacher looked around and saw the quiet approval of the students. Even without words, she could read the meaning. She turned her gaze back to Mateo, her face stern.
"Mateo," she said coldly,
"I thought you were only weak in academics, but now I see you are nothing more than a troublemaker. I should have never agreed to your father’s request to let you enter this university. You are a disgrace to your class."
The entire classroom gasped softly. The words were harsh and heavy.
Mateo felt his world crash down around him.
His fists trembled, and his teeth clenched in pure anger. He pointed at Louis with shaking hands. "He is lying! Can’t you see? He set me up! If you do not believe me, then just check the surveillance camera! That will prove the truth!"
The teacher gave him a strange look. Her eyebrows lifted, and her tone was filled with disbelief.
"Surveillance camera? Mateo, you must know that there are no surveillance cameras in this classroom. Yet you still bring up such an excuse? How shameless can you be?"
Mateo was stunned, his words stuck in his throat. His eyes widened as the truth hit him. He slowly turned to Louis, who was standing there with a smug smile, his posture completely relaxed.
