"You already had your chance. If you really wanted to, you could have kept her close. But instead, you called me here to be with her. That says enough about you."

Aurora didn’t reply, but she smiled quietly. Selena was right.

She could have stayed with Mia and comforted her.

As Selena thought about it, she couldn’t help but feel happy.

Mia truly had a good friend...someone who cared about her, protected her, and even helped her find love.

Neither of them noticed that Mia was standing near the bedroom door, quietly listening to everything.

Her eyes were wide at first, but as she heard their conversation, her lips curved into a soft smile.

Aurora was really the best friend she could have ever asked for.

She had come to Mia’s side when no one else did. She helped her when her world was falling apart.

Mia whispered softly to herself, "Aurora is truly the best choice I ever made." She closed her eyes, her heart full of warmth and gratitude.

If she hadn’t met Aurora, she might still be crying alone with no one to help her.

Meanwhile, in the living room, Aurora and Selena sat down and started discussing Mia’s parents.

"I’ll handle them," Selena said coldly. "You don’t have to worry about those people anymore."

Aurora chuckled. "You’re a bit late," she said.

"I already dealt with them. I made them sign a contract cutting all ties with Mia. Your job is just to make sure they never break that contract."

As she spoke, she took out a neatly folded document from her bag and handed it to Selena.

"Here. This is the contract. I already have an electronic copy saved. If you ever betray Mia, I can easily use it as proof."

Selena rolled her eyes, waving the paper in her hand.

"Even if things don’t work out between Mia and me, I’m not that low, Aurora," she said seriously. "I would never take anything from her."

Aurora looked calm, but her eyes were unreadable. Before she could say anything, a soft chuckle came from behind them.

Selena laughed, "Aurora you trust me," she said softly. "So why don’t you show it?"

Aurora rolled her eyes. "I don’t trust anyone," she replied with a small smirk.

Selena waved the contract teasingly.

"If you didn’t trust me even a little, you wouldn’t have given me this paper," she said with a smile.

Aurora smiled faintly. "I always have a backup plan," she said. "I gave it to you to test you. If you pass, I’ll even try to matchmake you and Mia myself."

Selena laughed and said, "If that’s the case, I’ll make sure you’re the bridesmaid at our wedding."

Aurora nodded without hesitation. "Of course," she said proudly. "I was going to be Mia’s bridesmaid anyway."

Selena shook her head, amused. "You don’t have to be this petty, you know," she said.

Aurora rolled her eyes. "You’re the one who used to tease me in class all the time," she said. "You always made it clear that you couldn’t stand me."

Selena looked away and said in a flat tone, "I don’t remember that."

Aurora sighed, exasperated. "You’re unbelievable," she muttered. "Anyway, I’m leaving now."

Selena nodded, but before Aurora could turn to go, she pointed a finger at Selena.

"Don’t try anything funny until you have Mia’s consent," she warned.

Selena chuckled, her tone playful. "I only do things with Mia’s consent," she said.

"In fact, her body is more honest than her mouth. She always agrees in her own way."

Aurora’s eyes widened, and she quickly placed a hand on her chest, as if stopping her heart from jumping out.

"Stop right there!" she said loudly.

Selena laughed even harder. "You should listen," she teased. "You might even learn something. Maybe get a few tips."

Aurora groaned. "I don’t need any of your tips," she said, glaring at her.

Selena smirked. "You’re like a child sometimes. Can’t you be a little more mature?"

Aurora’s smile faded a little. Her voice turned calm but cold. "If I ever become mature," she said quietly, "you’ll regret it."

For a moment, Selena didn’t say anything. The playful air around them shifted.

She looked into Aurora’s eyes and saw a depth she hadn’t noticed before. Aurora wasn’t just joking. Her calm tone carried a strange warning.

Selena finally smiled again, though this time it was softer. "You really are something else, Aurora," she said.

Aurora gave her a faint smile and picked up her bag. "Take care of Mia," she said before walking to the door.

After Aurora left, Selena quietly stood there for a while, looking at the closed door. Her expression was unreadable.

Then, she turned toward the bedroom, where the door was slightly open, and she saw the faint shuffle of movement inside.

With a small smile, Selena walked closer and leaned against the door frame.

"So," she said softly, "did you hear everything you wanted to hear?"

Mia froze the moment those words left Selena’s lips.

Her face turned pale as she looked at Selena standing there, smiling like she already knew everything.

"I... I wasn’t listening to anything!" Mia said quickly, her hands nervously clutching the edge of her clothes.

Selena nodded slowly, pretending to believe her.

"Of course. You weren’t listening. I believe you," she said in a sweet voice, the tone one would use to coax a child.

That only made Mia’s cheeks puff up in anger.

"Don’t talk to me like that!" she said furiously, pointing her finger at Selena. "You can’t mock me like I’m some little girl!"

Selena lifted her hands in surrender, still smiling.

"I’m not mocking you. I’m telling the truth," she said softly. "I really believe you. After all, you weren’t standing at the door, right? You were still sleeping on the bed."

Mia’s eyes widened. She glared at Selena with burning anger.

"If you keep bullying me," she warned, her voice trembling slightly, "I’ll tell Aurora that you tried to take advantage of me!"
