“Shut up!” Charlie yelled at her angrily, then looked at Iris’s back and pleaded, “Iris, as long as you’re willing to go, you can say whatever byou /bwant to Heriberto.”
“Is that so?”
Iris heard that andughed, “I wanted to tell Mr. Hale, I already cut all ties with him and your Hale family a long time ago.”
“Anything he did had nothing to do with me.”
“Even if he took a bullet for me, I didn’t feel touched at all.”
As she spoke, she smiled softly and went on, “A good horse doesn’t go back to old grass. I already had other good men around me.”
“He’d better not act like a jerk again, and never bother me ever again!”
“Iris, you-”
After hearing what Iris said, Megan was so angry she almost coughed up–blood.
She pointed at Iris and yelled, “You bitch, how could you be so heartless and cruel? If I had known you’d be so ungrateful and worthless like today, I would have-”
“What did you do then?”
Suddenly, Iris turned around, her sharp gaze sweeping over to Megan.
She questioned Megan, word by word, each one sharp as a knife: “Madam Hale, is your attitude now because you hate me so much, or

because you just don’t care about Mr. Hale’s life bor /bbdeath /bbat /ball?”
“If it was because you hated me so much, then let me ask bMadam /bHale before this, did I ever do anything really disrespectful to you bor /bbhurt /bthe interests of the Hale family?”
“Iris, you–you–you-”
Megan pointed at her, shaking, and couldn’t say a single extra word.
“Madam Hale, if you didn’t want me to have a good time, I could also make things bad for all of you,” Iris said again.
Megan was so angry she almost coughed up blood, and then she suddenly burst out crying, yelling “Wow.”
Everett stood there, looking at Iris a few meters away, and was a bit stunned for a moment.
The two of them weren’t even that far apart, but he still felt like Iris was just like a fairy from heaven, too out of reach.
The Iris now was really different from the Iris before.

“You old hag, you shit–spewing thing, get out of here!”
Seeing that Megan still wouldn’t change her ways, Charlie was really about to faint from anger. He shouted at her furiously, his face turning pale.
“No need to get lost, you all just go out.” Iris smiled a little, her eyesnding on Everett. “Of course, if iMr. /iAlpinus wanted to stay and talk business and investment with me, I’d wee it.”
Everett frowned hard and helped Charlie up, saying, “Sir Hale, Madam
bHale/bb, /bbyou /bbguys /bbgo /bback bfirst/bb. /bbI’ll /bbhave /bba /bbgood /bbtalk /bwith bIris /bb” /b
bCharlie /balso knew that, with things like this, Iris wouldn’t let bhim /bbsay /banything to Megan anymore.
If I stayed, what if Megan kept freaking out?
“…Okay”
So, he just nodded and looked at Everett with eager eyes, “Everett, bI’m /bcounting on you!”
Everett nodded and watched Charlie leave with Megan.
“May I ask, Mr. Alpinus, what was your purpose when you signed the bet agreement with Nica back then?”
The person left, and Iris was the first to just ask Everett directly.
