In the end, the first meeting with Leona's family concluded rather uneventfully, mainly because it was late, and Leona was desperately trying to stop her mother, Silvia, from saying too much. Silvia gave me an entire top floor with four rooms to myself. The space was originally built for guests, but since they rarely had visitors, it was mostly left empty.

Even when Aria visited, she usually shared a bed with Leona, so there wasn't much use for the extra rooms.

"You must be tired from the journey. Rest well, and I'll wake you up in the morning," Silvia said before leading Leona away. Aria, too, said it was a fun day and bowed slightly before leaving. Naturally, I was the only one who went up to the third floor.@@novelbin@@

I unpacked my things and lay down on the bed, but sleep didn't come easily. My mind kept replaying the conversation between Leona and her mother. The fact that Leona's father had gone off alone on a hunt and that Leona had also participated in a similar hunt before.

‘It must be similar to the original story.’

I guessed that this might be a situation similar to the monster outbreak in the original story. The way they talked about it, with a tone of ‘again?’, suggested that the type and number of monsters were probably the same as in the original. However, that was just my assumption. At this point, it was becoming harder to find events that hadn't changed from the original story than those that had. Everything was subject to change.

‘Maybe I should offer to help.’

Even though Leona and Silvia would likely refuse, not wanting to trouble a guest, it was better to ask than to ignore the potential danger of leaving monsters unchecked.

Knock, knock.

Just as I was contemplating how to deal with them, there was a gentle knock on the door.

“It’s me, Leona. Aria’s with me. Can we come in?”

“You can come in. It’s unlocked.”

Whatever the reason for their visit, I could ask them after letting them in.

With my permission, the door opened silently. Leona and Aria walked in, both in loose pajamas and carrying pillows. Aria seemed a bit hesitant, but Leona was confident.
