The rice ball was delicately held between slender fingers. The grains of rice glistened, giving off a savory aroma. Aside from being slightly misshapen from being held by hand, it was nearly a perfect sphere.

I accepted the rice ball. As her fingers slipped between my lips, Leona trembled and let out a high-pitched squeal. Ignoring it, I moved my mouth further to take in more of her fingers, leaving only the rice ball in my mouth.

It wasn’t an intentional move. Since her fingers were holding the rice ball firmly, it was inevitable unless I wanted to only bite off half. If anything, it was Leona’s fault for picking up the rice ball with her fingers instead of using chopsticks.

“W-Wa-Wa-Wa... Wa-Wa-Wa-Wa...”

Leona was holding the fingers that had just been in my mouth, looking at me with a face that was completely flushed and breathing heavily.

After swallowing the rice ball, I asked her, “It’s good. Did you make this?”

“Y-Yeah! I—No! No, I didn’t make it!”

Despite confidently stepping forward after preparing for so long, she was on the verge of defeat. I chuckled inwardly at Leona, who looked like she regretted her answer immediately after she gave it. She must have answered on instinct in her flustered state.
