Leaving the two hastily bandaged individuals behind, I stepped out of the gate and into the city, only to find that so much had changed. People clad in armor and armed with weapons roamed the streets alongside others dressed in strange attire, while some rode animals or summoned creatures, which they seemed to take as normal.

What struck me was that no one on the streets seemed to find the situation odd, nor did anyone attempt to stop these people.

It was unbelievable. It felt as though the world had transformed into the setting of a hunter-themed novel.

I seriously wondered if I had not returned to my original world but instead had somehow entered another novel, a hunter-themed one this time. It was hard to believe otherwise given the circumstances.

"Why is that person acting so weird? Are they crazy?"

"Leave it. Getting involved with someone like that would only bring us trouble."

I could hear the whispers of those around me. It was natural, considering that I had cloaked my body in mana, blocking out visual information. I probably appeared as if my entire body was distorted with noise. Unless someone was particularly hot-tempered, it made sense that they wouldn’t want to get involved.

"I need to move."

According to the information I extracted from the person who attacked me, South Korea was now practically under the control of a single guild, with the government existing in name only.

Due to the global phenomenon of gate appearances, international relations had become impossible without capable hunters.

'It’s hard to believe, but...'

I couldn’t quite wrap my head around it. Earth still had armies, didn’t it? How could it be that without hunters, monsters couldn’t be dealt with? This only made me suspect even more that this wasn’t the Earth I knew.
