Bug Abuse? I Swear I'm Just Playing Normally!
Chapter 67 - Raiton, Kirin!
The greasy middle-aged man was named Li Wei, alias “Liar”. In the real world, he had worked as a debt collector. But after killing someone during a collection job, he ended up where he was now.
He was actually quite grateful for the paranormal game—it gave him the means to fight back against the authorities.
He had been eyeing the Family like a fat sheep. But with Blank here, his odds of winning weren’t high. It was better to extort something instead. After all, this guy made 2,000 Paranormal Coins in the unsolvable dungeon. That was a hefty sum.
But Bai Wan shook his head. “Sorry, bro. I already spent all my coins buying cat food for my kitty at home. I’m flat broke.”
“Cat food for your kitty?! Very good…I see how it is!” Li Wei’s face darkened. His tone turned vicious. “You think you’re funny? I’ll rip off all ten of your fingers, one by one.”
Bai Wan just smiled, then tilted his head in mock confusion. “Uncle, you’re scary, no doubt. But I’ve got to ask—are you really a ghost student? You look so old and greasy… Are you sure you're not my grandpa?”
Li Wei stiffened immediately. Because the moment Bai Wan finished, several ghost students nearby began sneaking glances at him.
Some whispered quietly:
“That guy does look kind of old… Almost like our English teacher.”
“Yeah, yeah, must be over forty? Look at that beard. Is he really a student?”
“You don’t think… he’s a human in disguise?”
Fuck! The dungeon assigned him a student identity—what was he supposed to do?
Even he knew how weird it looked, a guy in his forties wearing a school uniform.
Gulp.
Li Wei felt more and more eyes on him and nervously swallowed. Finally, he snapped and blurted, “I—I’m just dumb, alright?! Been held back for years!!”
Bai Wan blinked, then nodded solemnly. “Gramps, that’s inspiring.”
Li Wei: “……”
The ghost students around them looked confused at first… but then their expressions softened.
“Poor thing… so dumb he’s been repeating grades all these years.”
“Yeah…that’s rough, buddy.”
Only then did Li Wei breathe a sigh of relief, but now he didn’t dare talk to Bai Wan again. This brat’s mouth was lethal.
As the lead villain, Blank clearly wanted to reclaim some ground. Zhou Sen looked over at Bai Wan with a smile. “Bro, you’ve got quite the sharp tongue. Really eloquent. You almost sound… human.”
Without missing a beat, Bai Wan shook his head. “Eloquent? What’s that? Some kind of fancy human word? I don’t understand, Bro. Sounds like something humans say, right?”
Zhou Sen’s smile froze. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw several ghost students glancing at him suspiciously.
Shit. Got careless.
He scrambled to change the topic. “You must’ve misheard. I’m just a low-level ghost. I wouldn’t know any fancy words.”
But Bai Wan went in for the kill. “Fair, fair. Maybe I did mishear. But bro, there’s all this food on the table and you’re not eating. Could it be that you're not used to ghost cuisine?”
Zhou Sen forced himself to grab a bug-covered something and shove it into his mouth. “Bro, what are you saying? Bugs are my favorite. But you—why aren’t you eating? Can’t stomach it?”
Bai Wan widened his eyes and gulped down several weird items in quick succession. “What do you mean, bro? I always save the best for last.”
“Hahaha, same here.”
“Hahaha, we’re both model ghost students who aren’t picky eaters!”
The surrounding players watched these two psychos chew through the horrific dishes while throwing verbal jabs and couldn’t help but feel a little respect.
Damn. That’s some willpower. These dishes are absolutely revolting.
But afraid of exposing themselves, everyone else had no choice but to follow Bai Wan and Zhou Sen’s lead and force those cursed dishes down.
Eventually, the sniping died down. After all, if the ghosts realized they were all actually humans, things would go south real quick.
Once lunch was over, the group quickly left the cafeteria.
They never wanted to see that food again.
…
As they made their way back to the dorms, they passed through a forested area.
The two Team Good girls, Jiang Wanfeng and Li Bing’er, were both extremely nervous.
They’d just been two normal high schoolers who got dragged into this game after teaming up to go to the restroom one night. This was only their third dungeon, and they’d barely scraped by the first two.
Now, with fewer and fewer security cameras around… if Blank and the others made a move in this forest, they’d be done for.
Jiang Wanfeng felt she had to do something. Suddenly, she stopped and said, “I’m feeling stuffed. Let’s take a walk, maybe detour a little before heading back to the dorm?”
There were no cameras in this forest. If they just went around it, they’d be fine. Her excuse made sense too—Zhou Sen had no reason to force them through the woods.
Yang Yujie (I’mTheOneeSan) frowned. Originally, they’d planned to ambush the newbies here and wipe out Team Good, but this little rookie was more clever than expected. Since she insisted on detouring, they had no reason to stop her.
Just then, Zhou Sen suddenly smiled.
The next second, an explosion rocked the campus.
BOOM!
Somewhere on campus, a blast went off. The entire school was plunged into darkness and the security system went offline.
Jiang Wanfeng and the others’ faces went pale.
The power grid had been sabotaged?
“Get them! Wipe them out now! The power will come back soon—this is a haunted school after all!” Zhou Sen had planted explosives near the school’s power cable during class break. Blowing it up knocked out the cameras. The system would repair itself soon, but not instantly.
Tsssss! Zhou Sen and his team unleashed their skills. The forest turned eerie in an instant.
MissZombie’s arms darkened as a terrifying aura seeped from them.
Zhou Sen pulled out a blood-colored pendant and began chanting over it.
Yang Yujie took out a mirror, which seemed to be hiding some unspeakable horror.
Li Wei raised a bloodstained baseball bat and charged at Bai Wan and the others.
Jiang Wanfeng and the others turned ashen.
This is it. Game over. They have no paranormal items. No way to fight back.
But Bai Wan remained calm. He activated the weather switch that he bought earlier.
The once clear skies darkened instantly. Dark clouds rolled in from nowhere.
Sssshhh…
Rain began to fall.
Crackle…
Within those heavy clouds, lightning began to churn.
As his enemies charged toward him, Bai Wan narrowed his eyes.
Take out the leader, and the rest will fall.
Whoosh! A blast of Misfortune shot toward Zhou Sen.
At that moment, the blood pendant in Zhou Sen’s hand began to drip blood. He raised his voice: “Kill Family first, then—”
He never finished.
Bai Wan flashed him a taunting look… and waved his hand.
Then—
BOOM!!!
A bolt of lightning came crashing down on Zhou Sen.
RUMBLE!!!
Thunder exploded across the forest, shaking everyone’s ears numb.
MissZombie and Li Wei, mid-charge, stopped in their tracks.
Then they heard Bai Wan’s cheerful voice: “Raiton, Kirin!”
The lightning above seemed to answer his call. Thunderbolts gathered into a blazing serpent—a dragon of stormlight—diving from the sky.
No one had time to react.
The Kirin descended, and slammed hard into Zhou Sen.
The lightning outpaced its roar. For several long seconds, the entire forest was bathed in white silence—like a play with the volume muted. Shadows of nearby trees vanished completely.
Then, the thunder’s rumbling arrived.
BOOOOOOM!!!
BOOOOOOM!!!
BOOOOOOM!!!
Multiple strikes followed, tearing a massive crater into the ground. The invisible shockwave made it almost impossible to stand.
MissZombie, Li Wei, and the rest of Team Evil froze mid-action, paranormal artifacts in hand, staring ahead in horror, minds completely blank.
Even Jiang Wanfeng and the others were stunned into silence.
The entire forest held its breath.
Only the lightning continued to fall from the sky…striking Zhou Sen, again and again and again.
