Building The Strongest Family
Chapter 241: Shopping
CHAPTER 241: SHOPPING
The café buzzed with the comforting clink of coffee cups and the soft hum of conversation, creating a cozy backdrop that wrapped around Billy and Kaia like a warm blanket.
Moonlight streamed through the windows, casting a silvery glow across the polished wooden floor.
Their empty cups lay pushed aside, and while laughter from earlier had faded into a gentle silence, it was a silence filled with mutual understanding rather than awkwardness.
Billy’s gaze, typically distant and stormy, softened as it settled on Kaia.
Leaning forward slightly, he drummed his fingers on the tabletop, a nervous habit that spoke volumes. And then, in an unexpected burst of spontaneity, he stood up.
Kaia blinked in surprise. "Huh?"
Without explanation, Billy extended his hand toward her. "Come," he said, a boyish smile lighting up his face. "Just follow me."
Her brows lifted in confusion. "Billy, what...? Where are we going?"
His smile widened mischievously as he teased, "You’ll see."
She hesitated for just a moment before reaching out to take his hand, her cheeks flushed softly as he gently tugged her to her feet.
Outside, the Veyron Hyperion awaited them like a sleek predator basking under the moonlight.
With an effortless gesture, Billy opened the passenger door for her; Kaia slipped inside, curiosity bubbling within her as she caught her breath.
He slid in beside her and revved the engine with a low purr that turned heads as they melted seamlessly into the flow of traffic.
The drive felt timeless despite its brevity, neon signs flickered by like shooting stars against towering glass buildings while the vibrant pulse of Neo-Luminara surrounded them.
Soon enough, they arrived at Osborn Commercial Grand Plaza, a gleaming monolith of wealth and elegance rose before them.
At its center stood one luxury flagship store unlike any other: ten stories tall and adorned with crystalline panels and flowing lines of gold-tinted trim, it dominated its corner like a fashion temple.
Atop it all glimmered in luminous platinum letters: Velvette..Osborn Haute Couture & CosmeTech.
Kaia’s jaw dropped slightly as she took in the scene; people streamed in and out of massive doors dressed in meticulously styled designer wear.
The street buzzed with excitement, photographers snapped away while influencers posed dramatically; even passersby glanced at the building with awe-filled curiosity.
Turning to Billy incredulously, she asked, "Wait... this is where you brought me?"
He nodded coolly. "Yeah."
She shook her head in disbelief. "You’re insane."
"Might be," he replied with a smirk. "But I want to buy you something, actually, lots of somethings."
Her eyes widened as she processed his words. "You’re serious?"
With casual confidence, he adjusted his shades and declared firmly: "Dead serious."
"Well then," she grinned, slipping into her teasing tone. "Don’t blame me when you’re bankrupt!"
Billy tilted his head and bowed dramatically. "That would be an honor."
Kaia couldn’t help but burst into laughter at his antics as they stepped through the towering glass doors of Velvette.
---
The lobby inside Velvette was a sight to behold, unlike anything Kaia had ever experienced.
Chandeliers crafted from refracted crystal hung above them, resembling frozen rain, while the walls shimmered with projected designs that danced in harmony with the movement of guests.
Mannequins draped in silk and synthetic stardust-lined fabrics stood poised on floating platforms, rotating slowly as if they belonged to another dimension altogether.
Escalators glided smoothly from the entrance to the top floor like streams of light, guiding them deeper into this world of luxury.
A small swarm of impeccably dressed staff moved in polished synchronization as Kaia and Billy entered.
Almost immediately, an elegantly attired woman approached them with a practiced smile. "Welcome to Velvette! How may I assist you today?"
Billy nodded confidently. "Top floor, private booth."
Without missing a beat, the woman responded, "Of course, Mr. Osborn. Right this way."
Kaia’s eyes widened slightly as she turned to Billy in surprise. "Wait... they know you here?"
"Family brand," he replied simply, gesturing toward the name displayed prominently at the store entrance.
Kaia blinked rapidly and shook her head in disbelief, it was quite adorable.
Minutes later, they emerged onto the tenth floor, a place reserved for only the wealthiest clientele.
It felt like stepping into another world entirely: private suites lined the floor, each equipped with digital mirror systems, AI-assisted stylists ready to cater to every whim, holographic outfit previews that brought fashion fantasies to life, and refreshment bars stocked with exotic delights.
The view from the window showcased a breathtaking panorama of the Neo-Luminara skyline.
"You can try anything you like," Billy said as he sank into a plush velvet couch. "No limits."
Kaia hesitated for just a moment before breaking into a wide grin. "Alright, Mr. Osborn! Let’s see how deep your pockets really run!"
---
The next hour flew by in a blur of luxurious fabrics, silks and satins mingled with futuristic athleisure wear, necklaces, bracelets ,watches, all kindsof jewellery and elegant heels, each piece more stunning than the last!.
The attendants moved quickly yet respectfully around her; it was clear this boutique was designed not just for luxury but for creating unforgettable experiences.
Billy leaned back, savoring a glass of sparkling fruit wine as he watched Kaia spin from one outfit to another, her excitement reminiscent of a child discovering magic for the very first time.
And wow, she looked stunning, no, she was absolutely radiant!
In that moment, Billy saw her in a whole new light.
She was no longer just the girl who handed him canned goods at YoruMart; she had transformed into someone vibrant and fearless.
A true force of nature who had stood by him during his darkest days without ever asking for anything in return.
Kaia paused in front of the mirror, donning a sleek black gown adorned with subtle star-like flecks that seemed to twinkle under the lights.
Her reflection shimmered like a night sky full of possibilities.
Turning to Billy with a hint of blush on her cheeks, she asked boldly, "Is it too much?"
He shook his head slowly and smiled warmly. "No, it’s perfect."
---
Several bags later, as the moon hung high amidst a galaxy of stars, they exited Velvette with two attendants helping carry their treasures to the car as they reached the parking lot.
"Billy!"
Just then, an unfamiliar yet oddly familiar voice called out behind them. Billy froze mid-step, his expression shifting as anticipation filled the air.
