Eren’s words made everyoneugh; the heavy atmosphere in the banquet hall lightened a bit.
Asphodel hummed in my head: iThis /iilittle /iwolf iis /iireally /iiamusing/ii! /i
But theughter died the next second as everyone seemed to realize – Kirby of Crimson Moon Pack?
He’d dragged Kirby into this too?
Wasn’t that a public p in the face?
I nced at Kirby. He stood in a dim corner, his gaze dark and deep, like a wolf suppressing his
rage.
His minty scent was chilling to the bone, the coldness almost condensing the air.
I inwardly smirked. Kirby, you actually get shut down by a child sometimes?
Leiss’s men, sensing things were going badly, hurried the guests along.
I stepped to Kelly’s side and held out my hand to Eren. “Come here.”
He happily leapt into my arms, tilting up his little face, eyes sparkling. “Muse, wasn’t I right?”
I ruffled his fuzzy curls and praised him with a smile. “Yes, Eren, great job.”
That little guy–sweet–talking like he’d been spread with honey, and he’d helped Kelly out. I almost wanted to give him an extra dessert as a reward.
Kelly came over and asked gently, “So this child knows you?”
I smiled. “Yes, he’s a friend’s kid. Kids speak without filters–Kelly, please don’t take offense.”
She shook her head and smiled softly. “Of course not.”
Asphodelmented in my head: iThis /iiwoman’s /iiruthless/i–nice! iI /iilike /ibiit/i/bi! /i
I nodded in agreement. Kelly’s decisiveness was different from what I’d expected; it actually suited my taste.

Kelly had stomped all over Leiss and Crimson Moon Pack’s face; people were leaving, band /bLeiss -pathetic as ever–still wanted to follow after them.
His brothers gripped him tight. “Enough. This farce has embarrassed us to the grave. What more disgraceful thing do you want to do?”
Leiss struggled like a paranoid man, determined to rush out.
I watched coldly and thought: pathetic.
Lance hummed in my head: iServes /iihim /iiright/ii–/iihe /iidragged /iiyou /iidown /iiwith /iihim/i!
What pissed me off more was that I shouldn’t havee to this damn banquet in the first ce.
I’m the most innocent person here; all the fault lies with Leiss, yet I get med?
With Leslie here I couldn’t make a scene.
I took a deep breath, let the mint scent quell my anger, stepped to Leslie’s side, gripped her olligo. I’ll walk you home.” wrist, and pulled her along–without leaving room to refuse. “Let’s /li/ol
The little wolf stomped after us on his short legs, afraid of being left behind. His blue eyes darted around, sly like a little fox.

I ground my teeth and scoffed at the stupid idea. “If you toss him out, Leslie will tear me to pieces first!”
There was nothing I could do with a minor like that.
Luckily the driver was quick. He scooped the pup into the passenger seat, raised the partition, cutting off his troublemaking, and left a private space for Leslie and me.
Lance chuckled. “Not bad–should give the kid a raiseter.”
