Chapter 398 Possessive Care

Kirby’s POV

By then, I no longer had any thought of marking Leslie.

I drew a deep breath, tamped down the heat inside me, carried her into the bathroom, sat her gently on my knee, and tried to rouse her. “Leslie, wake up–vomit it up…”

She made a disgruntled sound and turned her head, going back to sleep.

I kept my temper and tapped her flushed cheek lightly. “Wake up, vomit first, then sleep, be good…”

She pushed my hand away irritably and mumbled something, as if bothered by my rough hands.

I grabbed the hand that was iling and kept calling: “Leslie… dear… baby…”

She frowned like a fly buzzing in her ear and finally, with effort, peeled her eyelids open. She blinked toward me, half out of it, as if trying to ce who I was.

Her gaze was muddled; she suddenly raised a hand and scratched me hard, muttering, “Shut up!”

I froze–my neck burned where she’d scratched.

Lance looked pathetic, still shaken from Asphodel’s blow, and muttered, “Even like this, she could handle ten wolves.”

Seeing no sign that she’d vomit or had a fever, I let out a small breath and carried her back to the bedroom, ying her down carefully.

She slept soundly,pletely unguarded.

I couldn’t be careless, though. I called Mch at once and had him take the bottle and ss for overnight testing.

I wouldn’t be at ease without results.

I also summoned the hotel doctor for a careful check.

When the doctor finished, he said politely, “Leslie just drank too much. Nothing abnormal- give her some honey water.”

I frowned. “Understood. You can go.”

After the doctor left, I sat on the edge of the bed, helplessb, /bwatching Leslie sleep so peacefully.

She knew nothing of the fuss–probably still dreaming.

Lance snorted, “When did you, an Alpha, learn to wait on someone?”

I took a warm towel and wiped her face, muttering, “I don’t trust anyone else looking after her.

I’m going to make that woman pay tomorrow!”

Damn it

Although we’re wolves and ordinary toxins normally metabolize fast, I couldn’t shake the worry that there might be something deadly to wolves in that drink.

She rolled overzily; her slip had been tugged aside, exposing a pale, tender shoulder.

I paused; my Adam’s apple jerked. My gaze darkened.

Night pressed in, a chill wind through the window. The wallmp cast a warm, dim glow. Shey like something soft and fragrant, and it nearly undid me.

I bent close, my voice husky. “Asphodel, may I kiss her?”

Just as I was about to press my lips to her, she suddenly opened her eyes.

I jolted, caught like a thief–frozen with guilt.

She blinked, unfocused, and mumbled, “Thirsty…”

I let out a breath and handed over the honey water I had ready, spooning it for her.

She found it too slow, picked up the cup herself and drank several gulps, theny back down and fell asleep again.

I smiled at her. “Fell asleep that fast?”

She mumbled, “Mm, asleep.” fn2621 ???s ??????? ?s ?????? ?? find·novel/fn2621

I couldn’t help asking, “Do you know who I am?”

For a fleeting moment of rity, she squinted at me, like she was trying to figure it out, and mumbled, “That dog Kirby wouldn’t be this gentle… Carl, I’ll make you famous!”

My face went cold. Lance, in my head, burst intoughter: “Ha–she thinks you’re that Omega!”

Leslie, still drunk–eyed, reached out, touched my face, and flirtatiously touched me a few more

times, patting my cheek yfully.

But the next thing she said made my chest drop: “Carl, I’ll make

you famous!”

My expression darkened instantly; my mint pheromone chilled like winter, and

off me.

anger radiated

I stared at her coldly, grabbed her chin, and forced her to look at me. My voice was gentle as if to coax, but wrapped in ice: “Leslie, look at me–who am I?”

The words carried a frozen fury.

I could stoop for her, promise, pamper, and tter her to make her happy, but that didn’t mean I could tolerate her thinking of another man.

My love would never stand by and watch her get close to someone else.

If she didn’t return to me, I had ways to keep her near.

I studied her face hard, trying to find any trace of sobriety.

Her beautiful face only held the flush of drink, eyes drowsy andzy like a kitten that wanted to sleep.
