Burning The House Of Cards: taking revenge on my billionaire family
Chapter 185 - 184. Third Wish
CHAPTER 185: CHAPTER 184. THIRD WISH
The third wish ended up being used for something physical...as Sarah called it.
It was the first time Sarah went down on anyone, and Hajin had no idea what turned him on more: the fact that it was her first time, or how hard she tried despite not being good at it. She couldn’t take it deep because of her bad gag reflex, but Hajin was already on cloud nine from seeing her red face and teary eyes. The fact that she still swallowed the cum just made him...ecstatic.
It was as vanilla as it got, but for a princess who only lost her virginity a few months ago, it was something. Hajin also didn’t like the thought of using toys as if they were his substitute, so they didn’t use that. As for the other, raunchier stuff...
Well, they still had many birthdays in the future.
In the end, however, Sarah gave Hajin another wish because that second one was just ridiculous. Even without that, there was no reason for Sarah to refuse the gift. It might feel stalkerish, but she was the one who put a tracker in Hajin first, so...
At first, Hajin wanted to use it for a date, but Sarah also felt that it wouldn’t be fair. Having a date on a birthday shouldn’t be called a wish anyway. Wasn’t it what couples normally do?
And that was how Hajin took her to an amusement park and had her ride all kinds of scary rides. Including the haunted house. Sarah didn’t even know how many times she cursed out loud. Human was one thing, but she couldn’t use any defense trick or martial arts against ghosts, could she? Nor could she save herself if any of the rides malfunctioned and threw her away. Not even Hajin could survive falling from a roller coaster. Maybe. Anyway, she had no choice but to cling to Hajin all the way; all day.
...that was why he said he would use the wish card, wasn’t it?
The birthday did not end with just a day, however. When they returned from a nice dinner, a dealer had been waiting in their apartment’s parking lot to hand over a birthday gift from his father: a jeep that was tough enough for an off-road journey.
"Oh, we have all kinds now," Hajin responded to the gift with a chuckle. He didn’t seem burdened, nor did he show much excitement, as if it was just something mundane.
Sarah thought Hajin embodied the son of a conglomerate very well with that nonchalant attitude toward wealth.
But, yeah...they had a flashy one, an incospicuous one, and now a utility one. They even had a motorcycle. Truly something for every occasion.
One of such occasions was to secretly go to where Hajin would utilise his third birthday wish. His last gift, evidently, was a chance to do whatever he wanted to Mason. Since the twins had kept the kidnapped man inside a secluded villa, it was a nice chance to try out his new vehicle.
Not with Sarah, though.
"You really don’t want to see?" Sol asked curiously from behind the bar in Helios.
It was the wine bar’s inventory day, so the day’s operation was closed. Not that Sol had no work, though. Still, he welcomed Sarah when Hajin dropped her off through the hotel, before heading to the outskirt forest where the villa was.
Just like how it was done with Ethan, they faked Mason’s disappearance, making it seem like he ran away because he couldn’t cope with the fact that he was kicked out of the mansion and written off the Lee’s family register.
People might think the chairman got rid of him for bringing shame, but what did Sarah care? It would be nice if people kept pressuring his father. Made her work easier.
Sol placed a warm, non-alcoholic mulled wine...or mulled grape juice, it seemed, in front of Sarah. "Wouldn’t it be fun to see that man in a mess?"
Sarah scoffed. "He’s already in a mess the last time I saw him. Rather than getting beaten up, the death of his social standing would be more devastating for him."
"Is that so?"
"Once he is thrown to the street, he’s no longer relevant. I know very well that he can’t do anything without money," Sarah shrugged. "Without paying people to do his deed anyway."
She was the one who helped him become the perfect heir in her previous life. Her stupid, manipulated mind thought what Mason did was what a leader normally did: ordering people around. But after clearing her mind, it was apparent that everything he did was using money to solve problems, including paying people to give him ideas.
The sad thing was that...people like him were just everywhere. Could Sarah do anything if she didn’t have any money? Perhaps not, so she wouldn’t shame Mason for it. She would, however, shame him for not realizing that. She would shame him for thinking he could step over anyone and do anything just because he had money and a secure future.
Would he realize how futile everything was after getting confined, isolated, and beaten up? Would he realize how wrong he was?
Knowing Mason, he probably wouldn’t.
"Anyway, I couldn’t care less about him now," Sarah shrugged again before holding the warm cup, feeling the warmth from the drink and the wafting spice aroma.
She didn’t care whether Mason ended up dead or not. Whether he would be broken mentally or physically. The man wouldn’t survive socially, and his claw would never reach Sarah again.
That was what mattered.
Sol observed the serene expression on Sarah’s simple smile. It was a fleeting moment, only a few seconds at a time, but it was there more often than before. Certainly way better than the girl at the edge of her mental ledge he saw five years ago.
"That means you’re successful in your revenge, huh?" the manager commented with a subtle smile while pouring a mulled wine--with a real wine this time--for himself.
"Yeah," Sarah watched her blurry reflection on the dark surface of the drink. "He doesn’t affect me anymore."
Thinking back about how stupid she was in her previous life still made her uncomfortable; still making her hate herself from time to time. But even when remembering that accursed recording, she no longer felt like she would throw up or rub her skin raw.
Well...it might have something to do with Hajin either watching her shower or showering with her too...
"So, the puppy dumped his master here for me to guard?" Sol arched his brow, clearly did not appreciate having extra work during his supposedly slow day.
Or so he said, but he still came out to pick her from the hotel himself.
"For your people to guard," Sarah corrected.
"Wow...you don’t even hide your doubt, huh?" Sol narrowed his eyes. "You people don’t think I can fight?"
Sarah peeked at him through the steam from his cup. "Can you?"
He did like to cosplay as a security guard while watching people come and go, but he looked more like the one taking care of the CCTV than the one doing the punching. Not because he lacked evident muscles--which he actually did--but because there was a sense of sophistication coming from him when he did dress in his actual uniform: the suit.
At least Hajin had a big figure despite his bewitching face.
"Well...not with my fist, I guess?" Sol replied to Sarah’s curiosity.
"Sol Hyung is the assassin type, you know."
Suddenly, Sarah heard Suoh’s voice, and she could see their reflection on the shelf behind Sol.
"All he uses is illegal stuff!" Sua added with a laugh while hugging Sarah’s shoulder from behind.
Hmm...so he was the type that used weapons? Sarah looked at the manager while drinking her non-alcoholic wine. She wondered what kind of weapons they were--firearms? Knives? She stared at her drink. Poison?
Indeed, most of them would be illegal to use in this country.
"Sush," Sol put two glasses of mulled wine on the counter. "You’re not supposed to let others know."
"But Eonni is not ’others’, right?" Sua rubbed her cheeks on Sarah’s, giggling, definitely taking advantage of Hajin’s absence. "Let’s go and play, Eonni! Before your puppy returns."
"No need to hurry," Sarah sipped her drink calmly. "Hajin is going to see his father and visit his mother’s grave, so he won’t be back for a few more hours."
Rather than beating up Mason, Sarah felt like the third wish was used more for bringing his father to his mother’s grave. Perhaps he had planned it for a while, which was why he gave Sarah the bracelet first, because he would be apart from her literally the next day.
Well...the old man waited for a day because Hajin said he would be spending his birthday with Sarah, so...she could at least make this concession for the old man.
She still didn’t want to see Chairman Yoo, though.
"Yeah!" Sua slammed her now-empty mug excitedly on the counter, making the poor manager grimace. "Let’s use that room and call Birdie. Oppa!"
Sol sighed, wondering if both the glass and the counter were fine. "Yes, yes..." he shook his head while leaving the bar. "It’s more like babysitting now than guarding."
