CHAPTER 84: CHAPTER 84 MY FIRST TIME CHASING A GIRL

Bo Xichen smiled.

Gu Anxi didn’t ask any more questions. After all, the answer wasn’t what she wanted to hear.

Bo Xichen reached out, gently combed her hair back, and tucked a few strands behind her ear. "I’m going to sleep on the couch," he said, his voice low and husky.

She didn’t make a sound.

Bo Xichen chuckled. "Aren’t you going to say goodnight to your Little Uncle?"

She looked up at his strikingly handsome face. "Bo Xichen, are you..."

"I had my suspicions before, but now I’m certain." He gazed down at her, his voice even more seductive than the night itself. "You call me Little Uncle, yet you are also Luo Lin."

Gu Anxi stared back at him. "Luo Lin?"

He smiled. "I’ll tell you later. It’s bedtime for little ones now." Saying this, he affectionately tousled her hair before leaving.

Gu Anxi clutched his shirt, lost in thought for a long while.

「Early the next morning」

Feng Mian stretched as he came out. As soon as he entered the dining room, his eyes widened, and then he grinned. "Well, if it isn’t the kid! Did you spend the night at your Little Uncle’s place?"

Gu Anxi lowered her eyes, nibbling on her sandwich, pretending not to understand the implication of ’Little Uncle’.

Feng Mian plopped down, looking from one to the other, sensing that something was different between them.

Bo Xichen looked at him calmly. "If you’re free during the day, take Old He out for a stroll."

Feng Mian grinned. "Playing chauffeur, got it."

Bo Xichen then turned to Gu Anxi. "Eat quickly. After you’re done, go see your father. I’ll wait for you in the car."

She seemed puzzled.

Bo Xichen stated directly, "I’ll take you to school."

She murmured that it wasn’t necessary. Bo Xichen chuckled. "It’s on my way."

Feng Mian, who was standing to the side, almost choked. Would their esteemed Dr. Bo in Beicheng really need to try so hard to please a girl? This kid is too cold-hearted!

Oh, he’d forgotten. There was also that genius painter, Luo Lin, who became famous at a young age. Dr. Bo had been quite taken with her; he’d even gotten into a car accident two years ago trying to meet her.

Of course, he wouldn’t tell Gu Anxi any of this.

After finishing breakfast, Gu Anxi went to visit Grandma Chen. When she came out of the inpatient department building, she saw Bo Xichen’s car already parked there.

She got in the car, buckled her seatbelt, and said softly, "You don’t have to do this."

Bo Xichen smiled. "This is my first time pursuing a girl, Gu Anxi. Won’t you let me make an impression?"

Gu Anxi said no more. Bo Xichen drove her to school and then returned to the hospital to continue his research.

He had received many calls from Beicheng urging him to return, but he had firmly refused them all. He knew this would lead to speculation, but he didn’t care. Perhaps, once this hectic period was over, he could take Gu Anxi to Beicheng. They could visit his home, meet his parents, and she could see the painting by his bed.

Luo Lin... Bo Xichen whispered the name, a soft chuckle escaping him.

Just as Gu Changqing had said, he was indeed very lucky.

Just as he was thinking this, his phone rang. Bo Xichen reached out and answered it.

The call was, surprisingly, from Professor Gao. He was very polite, stating that he and Professor Bo apparently had some mutual connections. Bo Xichen responded with a gracious smile. As the future Family Head of the most prominent family, he could make anyone feel at ease whenever he wished.

Professor Gao then tactfully shifted, suggesting they have a meal together with Old He, as a sort of apology.

Bo Xichen replied coolly, "I wouldn’t want to intrude while you and Old He are reminiscing. Perhaps we can have that meal another day, Professor Gao."

But Professor Gao, having been entrusted by others, wasn’t about to give up so easily.
