CHAPTER 498: CHAPTER 308: LOVE IS TOGETHERNESS IN LIFE AND DEATH 1

Gu Qingchen saw several people lying on the ground, all of whom he had seen before; they were Zhuo Yufeng’s subordinates. He hurriedly bent down to check on them, finding they still had breath. He took out his cellphone and dialed for emergency services.

"Where is Sir Zhuo?" Gu Qingchen immediately asked.

One of the men who could still talk said, "Don’t know, we got separated..."

"Take care, I’ll go look for him. Wait for the doctor to come!" Gu Qingchen said.

Gu Qingchen knew the secret of this old residence, and so did Qin Shan. The people of the Song Family were aware of it as well; there was a tunnel below ground, which had been a secret prison during the war years.

Gu Qingchen guessed that Zhuo Yufeng might have entered here.

Gu Qingchen picked up a gun from the police outside and then went inside.

It was pitch-black inside, but the structure was very solid. Although there were tremors outside and buildings were collapsing, the underground chamber remained unaffected.

Gu Qingchen heard footsteps. He concentrated and hid on one side, then listened as the footsteps, steady and forceful, got closer. He launched a spinning kick, and the incoming person fell solidly to the ground. Just as he was about to move forward, the person reacted astonishingly fast, immediately fought back, and then pointed a gun at Gu Qingchen.

"It’s you—"

"It’s you..."

Both men spoke at the same time.

Gu Qingchen and Song Xuyao were facing each other, guns pointed at one another.

Song Xuyao was determined to find Qin Shan, following closely behind any movement of Zhuo Yufeng.

"Did you set off the explosives here?" Gu Qingchen asked.

"Yes!" Song Xuyao said, "Qin Shan must die; he has to take responsibility for Chenxi’s death. I said, if I don’t kill him, I wouldn’t rest easy!"

Gu Qingchen, annoyed, said: "Do you not care about hurting others? Qin Shan deserves his punishments, but the police are innocent!"

Song Xuyao had his conviction, "I can’t care about so much! What now? Are you going to kill me?"

"I won’t kill you!" Gu Qingchen put away his gun, "Yufeng is missing, I’m worried that he is with Qin Shan, who like you and me, is familiar with this place’s layout."

Song Xuyao nodded, "Let’s split up and search from both ends!"

Qin Shan, however, appeared quite calm as she looked at Song Xuyao. She was wearing a white wedding dress, was tall in stature, and her makeup was light. At the age of fifty or sixty, she still looked well-maintained, like someone in their thirties, and even beautiful.

Gu Qingchen saw that Song Xuyao had already run out so he couldn’t stay hidden any longer. He then stepped out and noticed that Professor Zhong Tianbang was already there, unknowingly, and was wearing a white suit, looking very much like the groom!

With this, Gu Qingchen realized that Qin Shan had always liked Zhong Hanbang—she truly wanted to marry him!

"Qin Shan, let Professor Zhong go!" Gu Qingchen was almost incensed, this person was shameless!
