CHAPTER 20: SURPRISE!

Two months later.

One lazy morning, while Alpha Maxwell was taking a shower in the bathroom, Naomi was staring at the calendar with a creased forehead. "Oh, I have a delayed period," she murmured. Her menstruation always comes on the 15th of every month, but it’s already the 30th of the month.

It’s the first time this has happened.

Instinctively, she placed her hand on her tummy.

Thoughts flashed in her mind. She and Alpha Maxwell were having unprotected sex every day.

Her heart beats faster in her rib cage. C- could it be?

Could she be pregnant already?

Should she tell Alpha Maxwell about her suspicions?

Ah, there’s only one thing to do. She looked up at the ceiling. "Zero, are you there?" she asked.

The beeping sound hummed.

"Yup, I’m here, dear. Wazz up?" Zero responded.

"Can you give me two pregnancy test kits, please?" she requested.

"Oh, you want to know if you are pregnant already?" Zero asked.

"Yup. My period has been delayed for several days. I want to know if I’m pregnant or not yet," she explained.

Zero replied, "OK, I got it. You will receive the pregnancy test kit in a few minutes."

The door to the bathroom opened and Alpha Maxwell exited.

He looked at Naomi. "What did I hear? Are you requesting a pregnancy test kit? Am I right?" he asked, looking at her belly with excitement flashing in his eyes. Could she already be pregnant with their baby? The thought of Naomi getting pregnant filled his heart with gladness and excitement. The thought of their impending freedom made his entire body alive with anticipation.

"Yes, because of my period, it’s delayed. I’m suspecting I’m pregnant. Don’t raise your hopes high though, I could be wrong," she said, her eyes shimmering with excitement. She doesn’t know why, but she feels excited. She caresses her tummy. She could sense something growing in her belly.

"It doesn’t matter what the result will be. If not today, then I will definitely get you pregnant soon," he said, kissing her cheeks lovingly. "Come into bed, let’s cuddle, then make love before lunchtime comes. I’m horny," he said huskily, pulling her gently to the bed.

Naomi laughed, amused. His horny appetite is outstanding.

They get into bed, hide under the blanket, discard their clothes and make love passionately, then fall asleep afterward.

Hours went by.

Lunchtime has come.

The food arrived along with the pregnancy kits that Naomi requested. She picked up the kit and stared at it for a few minutes.

"Sweetie, let’s eat first before you do the test," Alpha Maxwell said, placing the tray on the table.

"OK." Naomi put the pregnancy test kit aside, picked up the spoon and began eating.

The couple ate their meals in comfortable silence. Their hearts were in a state of great anticipation and excitement.

The couple looked at each other and smiled.

"Are you excited about taking the pregnancy test, sweetie pie?" he asked.

"Yes, of course!" she replied enthusiastically.

After they finished eating, Naomi picked up the pregnancy test kit and walked straight to the bathroom. Her hands shook with anticipation.

She entered the bathroom, read the instructions and performed a urine test.

Holding the pregnancy test kit in her trembling hands, she stared at it for a few minutes, waiting for the result. Her heart beat rapidly in her rib cage.

A few minutes later, the pregnancy test kit finally showed a result. Two red lines!

Naomi’s heart leaped with jubilation.

"Finally, I’m pregnant!" she gushed, elated. Tears shimmered in her eyes as mixed emotions bombarded her heart.

She was happy, but she was also scared of becoming a mother. A life-changing moment is finally happening to her. Responsibility is huge!

She fell silent for a moment, allowing the news to sink deeper into her consciousness.

What to do next?

Should she take another test?

She decided to take another test to verify the accuracy of the results. She was about to start the process again, but she heard a loud knock on the door.

"Sweetie, how’s it going? What’s the result? Is it positive or negative?" Alpha Maxwell asked anxiously.

"Just give me a moment. I’m going to take a second test to verify the results. Let’s wait for the second result," she replied, her voice cracking as tears filled her eyes.

Suddenly she felt emotional. She wanted to cry, but she couldn’t understand her emotions.

She quickly performed the second test and sat on the toilet bowl cover, waiting nervously for the result.

A few minutes passed, and she looked at the pregnancy test kit. Her eyes widened. Two red lines appeared, showing the same test result.

It’s 100% confirmed that she is pregnant!

She picked up the test kit, grabbed the door handle and exited the bathroom, straight into Alpha Maxwell’s awaiting arms.

"Sweetie, what is the result? Tell me now, I’m dying of suspense!" he said, looking at the pregnancy kit in her hands.

Naomi smiled brightly. "The pregnancy kit showed the same positive result. I’m pregnant!"

Alpha Maxwell’s face broke into a wide grin. "Fantastic! I’m finally going to be a father!" He picked her up, twirling her in the air. Happiness radiated on his face.

The beeping sound rang in the air.

"Congratulations, guys! Baby is on the way. I’m genuinely happy for you guys!" Zero said gleefully.

Alpha Maxwell raised a brow, looking up at the ceiling. "For someone who claims he is a robot, you sound like you are human," he commented.

"Dude, does it matter? Whether I’m a robot or a human, nothing matters. Only the two of you and your baby matter. Right?" Zero replied.

"You are right, now get lost! We want to celebrate this moment alone," Alpha Maxwell snapped.

"Alrighty. Ciao!" Zero obeyed.

Finally, they were alone to savor the good news.

The couple gazed into each other’s eyes.

"Now that you are pregnant with our child, our freedom shall come next," Alpha Maxwell wistfully said, longing for the moment he and Naomi could finally leave the room with their baby and return to the outside world.

"Yeah, I’m excited too. I can’t wait to go home," she said gleefully.

Elated with the good news, Alpha Maxwell enveloped Naomi in a bear hug. "We will make sure your pregnancy is safe and smooth sailing so we can leave this place without problems and complications."

"Yes! Everything will be fine," she murmured, melting into his arms, loving the way he held her filled with care and affection.

At that very moment, their hearts beat as one.

After a few moments of glorious embrace, he cupped her face lovingly, communicating with her eyes. "I love you, sweetie. I fell in love with you. My feelings for you grow stronger every day. I hope you feel the same way too. Please allow me to mark you as my mate. I needed someone like you in my life. Please, give me permission to mark you," he begged desperately, because marking her was the only way he could secure full rights over her.

Once they left this place, the outside world would become chaotic because of their opposing families. He needed assurances to hold on to, hoping Naomi would never forget him, never forget the beautiful memories they shared together in this room.

Naomi sighed heavily, meeting his gaze, his face serious. He really wanted to spend his lifetime with her. She could feel his sincerity in his words. But what about her? She really needs to dig deeper into her soul to know what she truly feels for him. She also needs to take into consideration the sacrifices she is about to make if she commits her life to him.

Would she plunge into the abyss of the unknown with him and leave her old life for him?

Sigh.

She couldn’t answer that question right now.

She smiled brightly while caressing her tummy. "I will decide about marking after our baby is born. For now, let’s enjoy the good news about my pregnancy. I want to savor this moment because I’m going to become a mother soon. This is so exciting!" She grinned, elated beyond words. Dodging his questions entirely.

He sighed inwardly. He knew she was trying to avoid answering her questions, but he wouldn’t let her off the hook easily. He wanted to know how she truly felt about him. "Do you love me, sweetie?" he asked, repeating his question.

She smiled. "Honestly, I don’t know if this is love. But I definitely liked you. I enjoy everything we do together in this room. So yeah, I like you, that’s for sure."

He grinned in elation. "That’s good enough for me, sweetie," he said in a thrilled voice. "Love will definitely grow in your heart one day. I’ll make sure of that," he whispered confidently in her ear, nibbling her earlobes.

She smiled. His whisper of desire always made her smile.

The couple hugged each other, enjoying the wonderful news and what it meant for their freedom.

A new Chapter in their lives has just begun.
