CHAPTER 25: THE DAY HAS FINALLY COME

Days and weeks passed by quickly.

In the third month of Naomi’s pregnancy she was not feeling well, throwing up a lot, feeling nauseous and very weak. She was bedridden. She only gets off the bed if she needs to use the bathroom.

The doctor has already conducted several check-ups and informed Naomi that all her tests came up fine. The baby was also growing healthy in her stomach. All she feels at the moment were just symptoms of pregnancy.

Alpha Maxwell was very worried about her condition. "How are you feeling now, sweetie?" he asked, as he gathered her in his arms like a delicate petal.

"I’m feeling a little bit fine today. Yesterday was bad. I threw up five times," she said, teary-eyed.

"We should bring you to the hospital. The doctor here is useless. They can’t do anything to make you feel better. I’m worried about you and the baby’s health," he said, gritting his teeth in anger.

"It’s okay. I will ask them myself if I can no longer take it. I’m very tired. I’m going back to sleep," Naomi said, closing her eyes to rest.

Enraged, Alpha Maxwell looked up at the ceiling. "Zero, I request Naomi to be sent to a hospital for a full check up now. If she loses our baby, I swear in the Moon Goddess’ name I will kill you all!" he growled menacingly.

Naomi touched his hand and said, "Shh, don’t be angry anymore. I told you, I feel better now," she assured him.

"But you are only saying that because you don’t want me to be angry, but the truth is you are getting weaker every day," Alpha Maxwell insisted, truly worried about her worsening condition.

"I hear you guys," Zero said out of the blue. "The staff are readying the room with the large windows so Naomi can relocate there tomorrow. The change of environment might be good for her health," he added.

Alpha Maxwell’s brows snapped together. "But how about me?" he asked.

"You are not pregnant with a child. You are healthy and fine. You will stay in the room," Zero replied casually.

"No! I must come with Naomi, she is my responsibility!" Alpha Maxwell insisted, annoyed that they were trying to separate them.

"Alpha Maxwell, don’t worry, after Naomi’s condition improves she will return here. This is a temporary arrangement only," Zero explained.

"How long? One week? Two weeks?" Alpha Maxwell asked.

"It entirely depends on her health," Zero replied.

Naomi had been listening to the men’s conversation. She touched Alpha Maxwell’s arms and said, "If you don’t want me to go alone, I won’t go. I will just stay here until I get better."

After much deliberation, Alpha Maxwell finally agreed to their separation to help improve Naomi’s condition. "Sweetie, it’s okay now if I stay here alone for the meantime. I realize that you need a change of environment more than I do. I will stay here and wait for your return."

"Are you sure?" she asked, still worrying about his mood.

"Yup. Don’t worry about me. I have endless movies and documentaries to watch. I will survive," he said, kissing her lips to assure her.

"OK." Naomi finally closed her eyes to sleep.

The following day, everything was ready. Zero ordered Alpha Maxwell to enter the bathroom. "I will let you out after Naomi is already out of the room," he said.

Alpha Maxwell enveloped Naomi in a tight hug. "Sweetie, take care of yourself and our baby," he said gloomily, kissing her head affectionately.

"I’m going to miss you so much." Naomi broke into sobs.

He rubbed her back, comforting her. "Shh, don’t cry. We will see each other soon."

They kissed each other on the lips for a few minutes. They were having a hard time letting go of each other.

"Guys, the time is up," Zero informed them.

Alpha Maxwell let go of Naomi reluctantly and entered the bathroom.

Naomi put a blindfold on her eyes and the door opened. The staff arrived, picked up the bags and led Naomi outside. They escorted her to a room with large windows.

"I’m back!" Naomi smiled brightly, admiring the wonderful view outside. The sight of the trees, the sun, the blue sky and the looming mountains in the distance produced a healing effect on her weary soul, lifting her depression and sadness instantly.

While the staff were busy unpacking her stuff, arranging them in the closet, Naomi went closer to the window, mesmerized by the sight of the leaves swaying to the gentle rhythm of the wind.

She was in that state of calm trance when the staff gave her a glass of milk. She drinks the milk and continues staring at the view outside.

She was thinking about Alpha Maxwell. He must be feeling lonely alone in the windowless room. She wished he was here, enjoying the view with her. She needs to get better quickly so she can finally return to his side so they could be together again.

That night, the couple slept in separate rooms. Both slept late, missing each other so much.

One week later.

Naomi’s stay in the room proved to be a wise idea, because with the abundance of sunshine all day long it did wonders for her deteriorating health. At night she could see the moon and the stars in the sky. Such a lovely sight.

Meanwhile, Alpha Maxwell spends his time watching movies, exercising, eating, sleeping and thinking about Naomi.

Two weeks later.

Naomi’s health condition has improved tremendously. Nausea and vomiting were gone, and her appetite had improved. After a physical exam performed by the doctor in the clinic, she and the baby are both healthy.

"I want to go back to the windowless room today because I’m feeling better now." Naomi informed the staff who was assigned to watch over her.

"Are you sure you are feeling better now, ma’am?" the staff asked.

"Yes, I am!" Naomi replied excited to see Alpha Maxwell again.

"OK. I will inform the admin of your request." The staff left the room.

Naomi couldn’t wait anymore. She started packing her things and putting them in the bag.

After one hour of waiting, the staff finally returned with management’s approval. Naomi was now allowed to return to the windowless room.

Brimming with excitement, Naomi couldn’t help smiling brightly.

Hooray! She will finally be reunited with her beloved today.

After a short trip, Naomi finally arrived in the windowless room.

Naomi catapulted into Alpha Maxwell’s waiting arms. They shared a sweet embrace, missing each other so much.

The couple’s reunion filled their hearts with gladness.

"I miss you so much, sweetie," Alpha Maxwell said, kissing her cheeks lovingly.

Tears of joy filled Naomi’s eyes. "I miss you more," she replied, melting into his arms, seeking his comforting warmth.

He inspected her face closely. She looked radiant and healthy. "Sweetie, you look better today than the last time I saw you. Your stay in that room with large windows did wonders for your health. Are you not vomiting anymore?" he asked.

"No more. Nausea is also gone. I don’t feel tired anymore," Naomi replied merrily. Her eyes sparkled with elation.

Alpha Maxwell smiled broadly. He’s been looking forward to being reunited with Naomi and it’s worth the wait. She looks healthier than ever and her baby bump is now more noticeable than ever. He places his hands on her belly. "Wow, time flies too fast. Our baby is growing bigger in your tummy! We will be able to hold our baby in our arms very soon," he said, feeling emotional, his heart swelling with pride.

"Yeah, indeed, our baby is growing fast!" Naomi agreed, her eyes glowing with motherly love for her unborn child.

"I love you so much, sweetie," he said affectionately, kissing her head.

"I love you more. It feels so nice to be back here," she said, climbing onto the bed, pulling him with her.

The couple cuddled on the bed, whispering sweet nothings in their ears, enjoying their reunion.

Days passed by quickly.

On the six months into Naomi’s pregnancy, after the prenatal ultrasound, the couple finally knew the gender of their baby. It’s a boy! They are going to have a son.

Alpha Maxwell was overjoyed with the news and enveloped Naomi in a bear hug. "Wow! We are going to have a son! This is amazing! I’m so happy right now!" he exclaimed, his heart bursting with joy.

Naomi smiled, feeling ecstatic after she learned that she was going to have a son. "I can’t wait to see our son. I’m very excited! We will raise him well," she said. Her eyes sparkled with happiness.

The couple walked in clouds the whole day. They can’t contain their happiness. They keep smiling at each other. As first time parents, the feeling was magical.

The coming days were filled with excitement and enthusiasm as Naomi’s belly was growing bigger each and every day.

At 8 months, the couple received infant clothes, diapers, and other baby-related stuff from the management of the facility.

Days and weeks passed by quickly.

The 9th month has finally arrived. Naomi will give birth anytime soon.

It was one lazy afternoon when the first sign appeared.

Naomi was wearing a maternity dress, walking on the floor when sudden pain hit her lower abdomen. "Ouch!" She yelped, grimacing in pain.

She ignored the pain thinking it was just her son kicking her belly.

But when the same pain hit her five times in a row she realized it was no longer normal. She could be in labor already!

How would she know? She had never given birth before.

She looked up at the ceiling and shouted, "Zero, are you there? I’m having frequent stomach pains in my lower abdomen right now. I think I’m going to give birth to my son today!" she informed him.

"I hear you, dear. I will inform the staff about your condition. They will come in a few minutes. So get ready to go to the clinic with them," he said.

"OK." Naomi slowly sat on the bed, her face contorting in pain. Another contraction hits her lower abdomen, so excruciatingly painful. She felt like she was going to die from the pain.

The bathroom door opened and Alpha Maxwell came out, rushing to her side. "What happened, sweetie?" he asked worriedly.

"I think... I’m in labor already," Naomi replied, caressing her lower abdomen, wincing as painful contractions hit her belly once more.

Then her water suddenly broke. A large gush of fluid soaked her maternity dress.

"I’m going to give birth now!" Naomi exclaimed. The contraction was so painful, she fainted in his arms.
