CHAPTER 62: BAD NEWS & GOOD NEWS

Hours went by, and for the first time the wedding discussion ended well. No further conflict arose between the brothers because Alpha Maxwell kept his mouth shut to avoid offending anyone. He just agreed to everything they told him. No more anger, no more objections, as if he was completely detached from everything that was going on around him.

Everyone knew he was not interested in the wedding preparation so they just pretended he agreed to everything, hoping he would behave during the wedding.

That night after spending time with his son, Alpha Maxwell is ready to leave his room to retire early into the guest room.

"Why are you doing this? Why do you keep avoiding me?" Deborah asked, annoyed.

"I already gave you what you wanted. I will marry you, so why are you still complaining about my behavior? You already know I’m like this, so why do you still want to marry me?" he replied coldly.

"This is so unfair. You are treating me like dirt!" Deborah ranted furiously.

"From now on get used to this kind of setup. After our wedding we will have separate bedrooms. I don’t like seeing your face every time I wake up in the morning. You will only destroy my mood and we will end up fighting each other every day. This is the kind of life you want then — I will give it to you. You can’t blame me. So if you don’t like this kind of setup, tell my parents now that you no longer want the wedding to continue. Do it while you still can," he said, challenging her.

Deborah laughed. "In your dreams! Do you think I will give up on the wedding? No way. So be it!"

Alpha Maxwell groaned, eyeing her in disdain for a few seconds, gritting his teeth in anger. "You already had a chance yet you wasted it so don’t blame me." He moved to the door and left the bedroom.

When he arrived in the guest room, he quickly locked the door, went to bed, getting ready to chat with Naomi. He needs to tell her that he has finally decided to marry Deborah to end the chaos in his life.

The moment he enters their private chat, Naomi sends him three heart emoji.

Alpha Maxwell: Sweetie pie, good evening. How’s your day?

Naomi: Worse... How about on your end?

Alpha Maxwell: Same, but still manageable.

Naomi: We’re not getting back together, right?

Alpha Maxwell: Why did you say that?

Naomi: They won’t allow me to leave the house. In short, I have no choice but to agree to the marriage to Edison arranged by my father. It’s going to be final and I dreaded the wedding day.

Maybe down the road we can be together again just not right now because our families are making sure we can’t be together. They are determined to marry us to other people. Alpha Maxwell: No, we don’t have to say goodbye to each other yet. As long as we are still breathing there is still hope we can be together in this lifetime. Alpha Maxwell: Yup, that’s right. What we shared together in the windowless room was wonderful and pure. The couple chatted merrily, discussing their future plans and their son baby Jacob.

A few minutes later, Zero came into the Windowless Lover chatroom.

Zero: Guys, where are you? Come... chat with me!

The couple joined the chat.

Alpha Maxwell: What’s up, Zero?

Naomi: Do you have new photos and videos of baby Jacob?

Zero: Sorry I don’t have any new photos at the moment. But I have good news for you both.

Alpha Maxwell: We would also like to tell you about the important decision we have reached regarding our current situation.

Zero: Alright, go on, let me hear yours first.

Alpha Maxwell: Naomi and I finally decided to accept our fate. We will marry our partners willingly to please our parents and to get the pressure off our chests. We no longer need your help. Thank you so much Zero for trying your best to help us. We appreciate it.

Zero: Oh, is that a good or a bad thing? I feel sad about your decision guys. Which means I’m going to become jobless soon because you no longer need my assistance. I was hired to be your messenger and your helper. Now that you don’t need me anymore, I will become useless.

Naomi: Zero, please stop joking! We are serious!

Zero: OK, I’m serious now. Are you serious guys? Is this your final decision? Aren’t you going to fight for your love?

Naomi: It’s tiring fighting against the inevitable, Zero. It’s better for us to just go with the flow. If Alpha Maxwell and I are meant to be together in this lifetime then our path will cross again in the future.

Zero: Oh, my heart. You have no idea how painful it is for me because I’m your biggest fan and supporter. I would really love to see you get back together again. Naomi: What is it? Tell me about the good news Zero. I badly need one right now.

Zero: Guess what? The management finally decided to return baby Jacob to you guys. Now you have to decide which of you will keep the baby. As soon as you reach a decision, we will deliver the baby to your doorsteps the soonest possible time. I will wait for your decision guys.

Naomi: Wow, amazing! I can finally see my son again! I’m so happy right now!

Alpha Maxwell: Yes, I’m happy too. Naomi and I will talk about this important matter before we sleep. We will inform you tomorrow about our decision.

The couple switched to private chat to decide who would take care of baby Jacob.
