Catastrophe Containment Facility
Chapter 1087 - 1089: Zhu Pengpei Appears
CHAPTER 1087: CHAPTER 1089: ZHU PENGPEI APPEARS
"Who hurt my Ah Lie!"
A mighty roar echoed, as a massive figure charged in from afar.
On the way, trees and rocks were effortlessly crashed through, with an imposing momentum, the huge sound made everyone’s eardrums quiver.
The figure charged directly to the barbecue stall, braking with its hooves creating a drifting effect and blew Jing Du away with the wind pressure.
This suddenly appeared figure was exactly Zhu Pengpei, whom Wen Wen was searching for!
Wen Wen’s lips curled up; although there were some minor twists during the process, he had successfully completed his target.
Black chains were wrapped around Zhu Pengpei’s shoulders and thighs, appearing like decorations, but he knew these were absolutely necessary.
The chains weren’t tightly wound but he couldn’t take them off, so he temporarily kept them as is.
In fact, the chains from Catastrophe Containment Facility didn’t have such exaggerated effects and wouldn’t have trapped a True-order Master so immovably without control.
Yet, Zhu Pengpei voluntarily accepted the chains initially, making their effect only slightly weaker than if they had been implanted internally.
Just like Wen Wen, he was inexplicably brought to this world.
However, being a confidant of Crooked Dragon, he had heard of this world prior, so he wasn’t panicked but only intended to bide his time until he returned to the real world.
And, while living on borrowed time, he wasn’t going to shortchange himself. He found a pig demon Zhu Ganglie nearby to capture succulent beings for him, cooking them so he could feast heartily.
Although Zhu Ganglie was a pig demon, he was skilled in transformation arts, usually opting to appear as a pale-faced handsome man.
After satisfying his hunger and thirst, just like Zhu Qipei, Zhu Pengpei had new needs but couldn’t find a suitable female pig-headed warrior.
This consequently led to a more-than-friendly relationship with Zhu Ganglie, who was adept in transformation, which made Zhu Ganglie’s name even more fitting.
Yet, Zhu Pengpei remained in hiding deep underground, careful not to be detected by two Catastrophe-Level Experts or Wen Wen, which is why Wen Wen hadn’t found him sooner.
It wasn’t until Zhu Ganglie was slain by Jing Du that Zhu Pengpei, enraged, burst out from underground.
Holding Zhu Ganglie’s head, he wailed loudly.
"Aahhh... Without you, who will catch fat ones for me to eat? Without you, who will drink and chat with me? Without you... where will I find pig-headed beauties, what am I to do now, Ganglie..."
While weeping, a sudden Sword Qi slashed towards Zhu Pengpei’s head; he flicked it away effortlessly with a finger.
One-armed Jing Du stood firmly with a sword, gasping for air, eyes resolutely fixed on Zhu Pengpei.
Zhu Pengpei looked back slightly surprised: "Old man, you’re not afraid to die?"
Jing Du closed his eyes, took a deep breath, and then opened them: "I’m the only one left now, an early death would be a relief; I’m only afraid of a worthless death."
The earlier battle with Zhu Ganglie had worn him out significantly; against Zhu Pengpei, who was a realm higher, victory seemed impossible.
Despite this, he chose not to flee, instead facing Zhu Pengpei with raging battle intent.
Meanwhile, he signaled other demon hunters hiding nearby to escape quickly, as he would stall him here.
If he could protect the promising youth with his final breath, his death would be worthwhile.
Regretfully, he would never get the chance to return to that place...
The old monk glanced at Wen Wen, who had showcased First Grade strength earlier and seemed capable of dealing with the pig demon, yet appeared reluctant to intervene.
So, the old monk sighed, stepped out from hiding, and stood next to Jing Du.
"Throughout my life, it pains me to see others die before me. If you wish to die, Benefactor... I will accompany you in death."
Ling Chong hesitated for a bit but then shouldered his spear and stepped out as well. The other demon hunters were also eager to join but were stopped by an elder who directly drove them away, and the elder himself stepped forward.
Although Wen Wen was strong and claimed to be here to eliminate demons, when Wen Wen’s aura surfaced earlier, it was several times more sinister than that of the pig demon.
Moreover, he remained a spectator, leaving it uncertain whether he intended to help, so the elder pushed the others to safety and stood up himself.
He knew the pig demon’s strength was terrifying, and Jing Du alone couldn’t hold him back; only by joining forces could they possibly hold the pig demon back and buy time for others to flee.
Wen Wen looked at the four individuals ahead, slightly sighing, it was expected for Jing Du to step out as the Sanctuary’s last member.
The other three stepping forth truly surprised him slightly, knowing that facing a True-order Master would likely mean instant death for them. Even if Wen Wen stood by ready to assist, it wasn’t certain he could save their lives.
Perhaps it was this willingness to sacrifice that allowed the early Demon Hunter Alliance members to eventually grow into the Hunter Association within the Federation.
Glancing at the four in front and then at Chun Ling beside him, Wen Wen felt slightly discredited and kicked Chun Ling out.
Chun Ling rolled several times, stopping beside Jing Du, stood up drenched in cold sweat; to her, Zhu Pengpei was a ferocious beast. She couldn’t avoid him fast enough, let alone stand against him.
Seeing Chun Ling, Zhu Pengpei’s anger slightly diminished; this female human clad in armor somewhat resembled a female pig-headed warrior.
Without taking off her helmet, she could be used as a pig-headed female warrior, making Zhu Ganglie’s death seem less regrettable.
Under Zhu Pengpei’s terrifying gaze, Chun Ling felt her hair standing on end, her soul almost leaving her body, and amidst such stimulus, she awakened her Supernatural Power.
Upon awakening, she lost her rationality for a moment, like a spiky giant meat ball, rolling towards Zhu Pengpei.
Her awakened ability was called—’Meat Bomb Tank.’
With the armor crafted by Wen Wen earlier, she already possessed Assimilation Realm combat power. Now, her power leapt further upon awakening, but in Zhu Pengpei’s eyes, this seemed more like an embrace, thus he chuckled foolishly, spreading his arms wide.
Jing Du and the other three took this opportunity to launch their attacks.
However, Zhu Pengpei didn’t care about their attacks, as he could completely crush these natives with his strength, he even envisioned their shattered bones and tendons flying away.
Yet, being the stupid and wicked villain he was, his daydream didn’t come true.
A change occurred.
