"You think like that, but most people can’t." Wan Lanlan said, "People still prefer to play it safe, especially back when your ’Life’ had already won awards. Playing it safe seemed like a more suitable approach."

"I understand what you mean, that’s true, but I don’t always want to play it safe. I allow myself to take some risks each year." Zhou Yun said, "Always playing it safe would make me lose my passion and longing for filmmaking."

"Being nominated for the main competition at Cannes Film Festival, did you have a special desire to win an award?"

"Too many people are watching you, too many people are praising you. I always feel that when we are surrounded by many people, we need to pay even more attention to our inner stability and not be influenced by external factors."

"It sounds like you’re very clear about what kind of person you want to be," Wan Lanlan said. "That’s very impressive. When I was your age, I only had rampant ambition but didn’t have a long-term plan about what I really wanted to do."

"I don’t have a plan either," Zhou Yun laughed. "I prefer to take things as they come, focusing on the tasks at hand, but I shouldn’t sacrifice the enjoyment of life."

Wan Lanlan asked, "Do you think Song Chi is the same kind of person?"

"Song Chi?" Zhou Yun appeared somewhat surprised.

Wan Lanlan nodded and said, "Because I’m quite curious about something. You and Song Chi have both achieved success and fame at a young age, typically people at that stage tend to be a bit arrogant, which everyone can understand, but both of you—how should I say it?"

"Both quite unconventional?" Zhou Yun joked.

Wan Lanlan laughed, "If you’re willing to self-deprecate, I don’t mind. But you know what I mean, right? You both are too sober and restrained. From my point of view, isn’t it a bit too perfect?"

Zhou Yun pondered for a while and nodded, "I think we have the problem you mentioned. We are actually not perfect, but though we don’t say it, we are still trying to portray a kind of perfection. Of course, I can honestly say that I don’t want to sculpt this perfection in front of the cameras; rather, I think I should strive for a more perfect state. But between me and Song Chi, it’s strange, actually. We often have a sort of dialogue that differs every time, but the underlying message is the same—Alright, don’t be so hard on yourself, you can loosen up a bit, no need to be so tired."

Wan Lanlan said surprisingly, "Do you two often suggest that to each other?"

"Yeah," Zhou Yun smiled and nodded. "We often spar like that."
