Chapter 797: A familiar icy aura II

    ?

Odiak glared at the man before him, who simply snorted coldly in response. Just as the dwarf was about to challenge the Will of the Universe-to argue that this time they wouldn''t care about his opinion; if he could not provide assistance, they would find a way to help Kyle themselves-he noticed the old man''s face grow pale.

Odiak opened his mouth to speak but was startled when the old man lost his balance. Despite the past grievances between them, he instinctively reached out to help him. It was only then that he noticed the latter was trembling. Odiak wasn''t the only one who observed this; Jane noticed it too.

The two supreme elders exchanged bewildered glances.

    What had just happened?

Only moments ago, this man had been hurling insults at Odiak, ready to confront the old dwarf; now he was trembling and pale, as if he had sensed a grave danger?

Jane moved quickly and, without a hint of hesitation, slapped his face, hoping to jolt him back to reality.

"What''s wrong with you? Get a grip!"

Her booming voice seemed to finally jolt the Will of the Universe out of his trance.

He staggered and pushed Odiak''s hands away, gasping in utter shock as he fought to regain his balance in mid-air.

    "No... impossible..."

He mumbled incoherently, his face completely devoid of color as his heart thundered wildly in his chest. A chilling wave surged down his spine.

Even when the last two seals of the Realm of the Dead were shattered, he hadn''t felt such an overwhelming wave of panic!

Jane rubbed her fingers in frustation.

"What the hell? Why are you behaving like you''re about to die or something?"

She raised her hand to slap him again, this time on the shoulder, hoping to restart his brain, which seemed to have stalled.

They were pressed for time, but this old bastard was wasting it! However, her hand froze in mid-air when she heard the Will of the Universe''s next words.

    "Another... Celestial has been born..."

He stuttered, his voice laden with significance, causing her heart to skip a beat as the gravity of his words sank in.

    "Huh?"

Jane blinked, while Odiak stared at the old man in a daze. It took them a full minute to come out of their stupor. When they finally did, the Will of the Universe had regained his composure. He mumbled.

"No! That can''t be possible! How?"

His consciousness began to flicker. Still, he fought to stay awake, struggling against the encroaching darkness. After all, how could he rest when Azazeal was so close? But in the end, everything around him faded.

He didn''t know how many seconds, minutes, days, or months had passed. He could sense his existence, yet at the same time, he couldn''t. Cold and darkness were the only sensations that

    enveloped him.

When he finally opened his eyes, he discovered himself standing in an infinite sea of pitch- black darkness, with only his body radiating a faint, icy blue glow.

He caught a glimpse of another brilliant light from his peripheral vision and lifted his gaze, only to see a towering, transparent barrier looming in the distance. It separated the darkness from a realm bathed in radiant light.

Like a threshold to a power beyond, it shimmered with an alluring brilliance that beckoned him closer, promising something beyond his comprehension.

He couldn''t understand why, but an overwhelming urge to reach out and step through the barrier surged within him.

Without hesitation, he began walking toward it, yet for some inexplicable reason, the more he advanced toward the light, the farther away it seemed to drift, taunting him with its

    elusive brilliance.

Each step felt heavy, as if the very essence of the darkness around him was pulling him back, whispering doubts into his mind.

Weird, he wondered, pausing in his steps.

At last, a flicker of clarity returned to him, and he thought, wasn''t he in the dangerous mass of energy waiting for his bloodline to create a new body to hold his soul?

    What''s going on?

He glanced around and tried to speak but realized he couldn''t. Frustrated, he frowned and focused on his glowing body, only to find out it was his consciousness.

As if sensing his pause, the transparent barrier in the distance grew even brighter. However, this time, Kyle remained still. He focused on understanding what was happening and what

    this place truly was.

A familiar presence of nature caught his attention, but he couldn''t grasp it. He stood in the darkness for a long time, and all the while, the light urged him to walk.

When the light finally stopped urging him, seemingly exhausted and tired of coaxing him, he finally moved with hurried steps.

This time, clear shock and disbelief filled his gaze, for just a moment ago, a sudden influx of unfamiliar yet profound knowledge surged from the surroundings into his mind, revealing that he stood before the boundary of a higher realm that few could reach. He finally grasped what was happening.

He couldn''t help but feel a surge of nervousness. Wasn''t this all too sudden? The last time he remembered, he was only at the beginning of the supreme rank, in the initial stage. So how the hell was he now standing at the boundary of the Celestial rank? Damn; did he just leap two whole stages while he was unconscious?

What about the difficulty of reaching the peak of the supreme rank? What about the struggles he had to endure just to find the boundary of the Celestial rank?

Not to mention, this situation felt completely different from what he experienced when he broke through to the divine, transcendent, and supreme ranks. Where was that tiny wall he needed to jump to break through? He kind of missed it this time because no matter how far he walked, he wasn''t able to reach that towering barrier that separated the light from the

    darkness.
