CHAPTER 438: CHAPTER 438: PEERS

Actually, it was Vivian’s idea to leave. She sensed something was off with Uncle Wilder’s mood, and feared he’d feel more uncomfortable seeing the kids.

Though she never meddled in the kids’ lifestyles, she knew that the affairs of Ethan Sterling and Ruby Sullivan were somewhat embarrassing if talked about. However, the so-called truths in outsiders’ eyes were mixed with a lot of exaggerations, and there was no way or need to explain.

Fortunately, both kids were doing well, thriving in their careers and settling their lives down, which was enough in Vivian’s eyes. But in outsiders’ eyes, it seemed like there was an issue with The Sterling Family’s values.

Uncle Wilder got so angry because he considered Shawn Sheffield a friend. For the fact that Aidan Sinclair didn’t like Wendy Sheffield, he blamed Ruby Sullivan, saying things about father and son’s obssession and whatnot, even speculating that one day Stellaron would fall into someone else’s hands, under the guise of supposedly having his best interests at heart!

If he were truly senile, he wouldn’t be angry, and instead, would divorce Vivian right away.

Aidan Sinclair talked about Shawn Sheffield’s exasperation like it was gossip from somebody else’s family, with a hint of schadenfreude.

Seth Sterling raised an eyebrow, "Uncle Aidan, Grandpa was very angry too, why do you seem so happy?"

Aidan Sinclair didn’t shy away from telling Seth the truth, "Because this Grandpa Sheffield is being insincere, trying to use his friendship with your grandpa to do business with me. Now, I don’t need an excuse to decline."

Ruby Sullivan covered Seth’s ears, "Don’t talk about such things in front of my son." A six-year-old didn’t need to know about all these adult intrigues.

Seth pulled his mother’s hand down, "I think I should hear it."

Honey sighed with some disappointment, "I don’t quite like that Grandma Sheffield, but now I won’t see Brother Jasper anymore."

Aidan Sinclair comforted Honey, "When you grow up, you’ll meet more handsome boys, no need to regret it."

Honey pouted and smiled, "I know, I know."

Seeing Ruby Sullivan glaring at him again, Aidan Sinclair refrained from saying more.

Fortunately, Vivian and Uncle Wilder weren’t too affected, and went happily on a honeymoon to Gallia after a day off. It had been a long time since Vivian left Caelus, and before, she’d traveled all over Euronia with Uncle Wilder, never truly enjoying Gallia. Vivian had her own stubbornness, and only then did she want to show Uncle Wilder her past life.

The day they left, Ruby Sullivan, the three Sterling siblings, and Aidan Sinclair all went to the airport to see them off, and felt relieved seeing how cheerful the couple was.

Afterwards, Ruby Sullivan got straight into Aidan Sinclair’s car to visit Stella Jennings on set.

Actually, the show had rules against visiting during training, but Aidan Sinclair was the boss, he had his reasons to visit Stella Jennings.

Ruby Sullivan baked a mousse cake early that morning. Although it was her first time, the taste test was quite good, and Stella Jennings would probably like it.

Stella Jennings was in a vocal class when she heard the PD calling her, so she went to the office.

Recently, free trainees had been called to the office from time to time, and it was said that they talked about secret agreements, which she kind of envied, so when the PD called her, she felt a small thrill inside.

When she saw who was in the office, her excitement turned into surprise, "Oh my God, Wenny, Uncle Wilder, what are you doing here?"

"Uncle Wilder?" Ruby Sullivan glanced at Aidan Sinclair with ill intentions, nodding on purpose, "Hmm. That title suits him well."

Aidan Sinclair felt a little embarrassed, "Holly, can you call me brother? I’m not that old."

Stella Jennings frowned, "My dad calls you Sinclair. If I call you brother, wouldn’t that be... disrespectful?"

"I don’t mind!"

"Alright then, Wilder. What brings you here?" Stella Jennings only knew that Aidan Sinclair was a big deal, her dad even spoke to him respectfully, but she didn’t know how influential he was, let alone that he was the big boss behind this show.

"Visiting the set." Aidan Sinclair said seriously.

"Huh?" Stella Jennings felt a bit embarrassed, as if afraid of being overheard, "We’re not allowed visits here. You should leave quickly."

"It’s okay, the show knows, they won’t blame you." Ruby Sullivan pulled her to sit down, "I made this cake for you myself, since others can’t know, let’s eat it here."

Stella Jennings’ eyes sparkled at the sight of the cake, "I haven’t had sweets since I joined the group!" She took a deep breath, "What should I do, we’re controlling our weight, I have to lose eight pounds in ten days."

"You’re not fat at all, just eat." Aidan Sinclair was a bit displeased, deeply resentful towards the program, thinking they were already too thin, any more weight loss and they’d only have bones left.

Stella Jennigns stared at the cake, troubled, "No, no, you guys can’t shake my determination, I must succeed in debuting, I absolutely can’t falter over a piece of cake!" Her determined look was just like a passionate anime girl.

Ruby Sullivan instantly felt like she’d be a big villain if she swayed her any more, so she gave up, "Then just try a bite. It’s my first time making it, give me some feedback, and eat more after the program."

"Well... since you worked hard to make it for me, it’d seem too ungrateful if I don’t even try a bite." Stella Jennings took a deep breath, "I’ll just take a bite!"

Five minutes later, the cake was gone.

Looking at Stella Jennings’ repentant expression, Ruby Sullivan felt fulfilled. She shot Aidan Sinclair a look, and he used the restroom as an excuse to step out.

"I know someone from your program team, and they said a big company wants to sign you. Do you have any plans?"

Given that he’d already broken the rules to visit her, Stella Jennings had no doubt about Ruby Sullivan’s "someone", immediately getting excited at his words, "Really? Which company?"

"The organizer of this program, Morningstar Entertainment."

"Is it really Morningstar? Oh my gosh, everyone joining this program is aiming to sign with Morningstar! What did I do to deserve this..."

"Stop, stop, you’re just fine." Ruby Sullivan didn’t want to hear her lengthy false modesty, and asked again, "If you encounter someone you like at this time, which conflicts with signing, would you prefer to sign or fall in love?"

Stella Jennings didn’t realize Ruby Sullivan was trying to pry information from her; she only thought it was girl talk, immersing herself in the scenario, giving it some real thought, "I haven’t dated yet, for a first love, I’d probably take it very seriously. Nowadays, idols can publicly date, but I’m a bit young to make it public..."

She muttered for a while, and finally said, "Depends on how much I like the person, I’d discuss with the company, or temporarily keep it private until I’m of age."

"Smart!" Ruby Sullivan determined the little girl was more mature than she’d imagined, "Then, what’s your ideal type?"

Stella Jennings laughed, "Are you trying to set me up with someone? I’m not accepting matchmaking right now."

"The ones I know are all older men, how could I introduce them to you? I just want to understand what kids your age think, to use it when designing perfume." Ruby Sullivan thought for a moment, fabricating, "Planning to make a perfume called ’First Love.’"

"Wow, the name alone makes me want it." Stella Jennings said, then seriously considered Ruby Sullivan’s question.

On the way back, Ruby Sullivan calmly told Aidan Sinclair, "You probably don’t stand a chance, she likes people her own age."
