CHAPTER 477: CHAPTER 477: LEAVING

Aidan Sinclair dashed up to the second floor, saw a room with the door open, quickly walked over, directly ignoring Byron Jennings who was confronting Stella Jennings, and rushed over to tightly hug his little girl, "I’m here, it’s okay now."

Stella Jennings was initially a bit shocked by his action, but after hearing his comforting words, her heart immediately softened beyond recognition. Her big leg was here, she could cry while clinging pitifully to the leg.

And Byron Jennings’ face had gone from ashen to dark green. In his eyes, Aidan Sinclair’s action undoubtedly confirmed everything they had suspected downstairs! Just as he felt he should do something, Aidan Sinclair had already released his daughter.

Byron Jennings waited for him to give an explanation, adopting a stern expression.

Aidan Sinclair seemed to still not notice him, picking up Stella Jennings’ suitcase, "Let’s go."

"Okay." Stella Jennings swallowed her tears, now speaking with more confidence.

Byron Jennings couldn’t keep it in any longer, roaring, "Aidan Sinclair, you’re way out of line! Do you know how old she is? I could call the cops and have you arrested right now!"

"Dad!" Stella Jennings was furious, anxious, and embarrassed all at once.

Aidan Sinclair sneered, "Out of line? Almost as much as you."

Byron Jennings blocked his path, "Don’t think I wouldn’t dare to call the police!"

"Whatever." Aidan Sinclair turned and grabbed Stella Jennings’ wrist, leading her outside.

"Stella, if you walk out that door today, you won’t have me as a father anymore!" Byron Jennings uttered the most clichéd and, in his view, the weightiest threat.

Stella Jennings gently freed herself from Aidan Sinclair’s grasp, turned and bowed to Byron Jennings, then straightened up and calmly said, "Before, I always thought that even if Mrs. Jennings and that sister didn’t like me, you were still a father who cherished me, but today’s events made me realize, I don’t belong here, you shouldn’t have brought me back in the first place."

Maybe,

if it weren’t for her mother’s dying demand, he wouldn’t have brought her back at all...

Stella Jennings took a deep breath, "No matter what, I still have to thank you for taking care of me over the past two years. Thank you, and in the future... I won’t be a nuisance to you here anymore."

After saying that, she took Aidan Sinclair’s hand, "Let’s go, Uncle."

Byron Jennings almost exploded with rage when he heard his daughter still refer to Aidan Sinclair as "Uncle." It was madness, truly madness!

The Jennings mother and daughter, seeing the two of them leaving hand in hand, felt both smug and envious, given Aidan Sinclair’s influential position.

"Just wait until he’s done with her to see her cry." Mrs. Jennings mocked, and as if it had become real, she couldn’t help but laugh out loud.

Hannah Jennings rolled her eyes, "Truly shameless to the core."

About twenty minutes after the car drove off, Stella Jennings still felt like leaving home was a dream.

Did she just leave like that? Would she really not need to go back anymore?

As this thought crossed her mind, she immediately dismissed it, no, she wouldn’t go back, even if

she didn’t become a big star. She had hands and feet; at worst, she’d become a waitress or a shop assistant. Even if she didn’t have brains, she still had the strength, she’d definitely not starve!

She exhaled deeply, tilted her head, and said "thank you" to Aidan Sinclair.

"Uncle isn’t just a title," Aidan Sinclair smiled.

Stella Jennings thought about it, then decided to speak up.

"Actually, I’m my dad’s illegitimate child from outside, my mom was a pedicurist. Two years ago she got seriously ill and had no choice but to entrust me to my dad. When I say entrust, it was more like forcing me on him. My dad didn’t want me, but my mom said if he dared not care for me, she would publicize the fact that I was an illegitimate child. She even instructed me before she died to lower myself and use this to threaten my dad to live well in this house."

Stella Jennings gave a bitter smile, "Actually, my dad was quite nice to me, just because of my stepmother and sister’s instigation, my dad didn’t dare show me kindness openly, but I still feel he was quite good to me."

She was someone who appreciated kindness. When her dad took her to parties, it was because he worried about her, she understood. If it weren’t for getting so worked up today, she wouldn’t have said something so hurtful to him.

She thought for a moment, and then asked, "Can I change my name? I used to take my mom’s surname, Lawson, and was called Holly Lawson. It was only after joining the Jennings family that I was renamed Stella Jennings. I want to change it back."

"Sure." Aidan Sinclair frowned, suddenly understanding Ethan Sterling’s impulse to declare war on The Lawson Group in a fit of rage.

The person he cared about had endured such grievances, and as a man, besides wanting to hold her and comfort her, he also wanted to get revenge on her behalf!

He now wanted to destroy the Jennings family too. What snack mogul, snack mogul? I’ve got plenty of money, if I want to mess with you, I have many ways!

Then he heard Stella Jennings ramble on, "My dad’s someone who really cares about his image, I don’t want my existence to be something that keeps him from holding his head up high."

Aidan Sinclair was taken aback, suddenly thinking of Naomi Sinclair. When she was alive, with her third uncle, she would always call him "old man" and rarely called him Dad in earnest, and when causing trouble for him, was utterly ruthless, but Aidan Sinclair knew, she loved her dad dearly.

All the terrifying thoughts he had just had instantly vanished, "You will become a pride that they can’t reach, don’t be discouraged."

"Exactly, I’ll work hard."

Aidan Sinclair originally intended to have his agent give her the villa to live in, but now that the situation had unfolded this way, he simply brought her there himself.

This villa was right next to his home, just slightly smaller. When he bought it, it was meant for Naomi, but she found the villa too big and empty, and decisively rejected it, so it had remained empty until now.

When Naomi left, he had thought of selling it, but ultimately couldn’t, though it was an unsent gift, he couldn’t bear to sell it.

Now it seemed not selling it was brilliant.

When Stella Jennings arrived at the villa, she was shocked. She had thought Aidan Sinclair would take her home first, not expecting her "dorm" to be right next to his house and also, way too luxurious!

"This place has been empty for a while, the furniture and other things are a bit old. Take a look, if there’s anything you need let the agent know, the company will arrange to change it for you. If it’s fine, I’ll call someone over to clean up immediately."

The villa was two stories high, with an attic, the roof had been turned into an open terrace, with a European-style cooking station built to directly see the terrace on his side. Both sides had the same design, facing each other, specifically for the siblings to chat across the distance.

Stella Jennings explored every room upstairs and downstairs, "Do all the artists at your company live in such nice places?"

Aidan Sinclair took a deep breath, his face not flushing, his heart not skipping, and said, "Of course, Morningstar is the largest entertainment company in the country, it’s always cherished its artists."

Stella Jennings immediately applauded her choice; a company that takes such good care of its artists would surely arrange her career well, otherwise, how would they make back the investment in her?

"I think it’s great here, no need to add anything!"

Aidan Sinclair nodded, "Then I’ll call someone to clean it up right away. As for future cleaning, you don’t have to worry, you can hire domestic help or a live-in maid, however you prefer, just let the agent know. Hmm..." he looked at the dust-covered house, "let’s go to my place first until it’s cleaned up."

"Then... could you take me to the supermarket to buy some stuff? I’ll be living alone, need to stock up on some provisions!"

Imagining going grocery shopping with the little girl, Aidan Sinclair felt a bit excited, but remained outwardly calm, nodding, "Let’s go, I happen to need to buy some things too."
