Actually, Ling Zhengwei also knew from Wang Yisheng and others that he would soon be promoted again and at that time he wouldn’t just rank higher but also earn more, at least doubling his previous bottom-level employee salary and benefits.

Under such conditions, even if just working a few more years, it feels much better than working ten years before, and not nearly as demanding, with more respect.
