CHAPTER 269: RAW AND UNSTOPPABLE (3)
"Sit..." Benjamin said as he walked towards his desk.
When he sat on his chair, both Reagan and Nick were already seated in front of him, wiping the blood on their cracked lips.
"Reagan! You first. Why did you have to slap Vicky so hard? She’s a woman, for Christ’s sake! I don’t agree with what she had done either, but you shouldn’t have done that, or at least not that hard. When have you seen me hurt your mother with my hands? Did I ever teach you to hurt women like that?" Benjamin said.
Reagan took a deep breath and exhaled hard. "She’s crossed the line. I didn’t intend to slap her that hard. My emotions flared up and hit her hard before I could stop myself," Reagan said.
"You will apologize to her later, and she will apologize to Sarah, too," Benjamin said before turning to Nick. "Now, you, do you really have to punch your brother multiple times? One punch is enough. And even if you didn’t defend Vicky, I could have been the one who slapped your brother back.
You should have waited for me to take action, but instead, you just lunged at your brother like that, and in front of Ella and Sarah’s parents. You should have controlled yourself and let the guests leave first before doing anything that would put shame on our family," Benjamin said.
Nick scoffed, "Yeah, right, it’s me again who brought shame to this perfect family, even though the first one was not my fault. And for the record, let’s all stop pretending that he is my brother, because he is not! I mean it when I said I’ll put an end to him if he ever hurts my sister again!" Nick snapped.
"What do you mean by that?" Benjamin said.
"Oh, come on, Dad, Liam and I have known since we were kids that Reagan is not your son, we heard grandpa and grandma talk about it. Even Reagan knows about it. Only Vicky is the one who doesn’t know about that fact. I just kept quiet because I really didn’t care before, but now that bastard hurt my sister changes everything, and I’ll make sure he will never ever do it again if he wants to stay in this family!" Nick said with fury.
Benjamin rubbed his face with both hands in frustration and stayed silent for a moment.
A firm knock broke the heavy silence. Benjamin pressed the small brass button on his desk, and the door unlocked with a quiet click.
"Sir," Alfie said as he stepped in, holding two cold compresses and a small first aid kit, "Miss Georgia asked me to bring these for Reagan and Nick."
Benjamin gave a curt nod. "Thank you, Alfie. Give them the compresses, then call the rest of my children—Georgia and Sarah included. And don’t let my wife set foot in this office until I’m done talking to them."
"Yes, sir." Alfie handed the cold packs to the brothers, bowed slightly, and left the room as quietly as he entered.
The door shut behind him, and Benjamin leaned back in his chair, the weight of his authority filling the room once more. "We’ll discuss that other matter later," he said, his tone clipped but measured. "For now, I want this fight settled. I won’t have our guests sitting outside while my sons act like enemies. Do you understand me?"
Neither Nick nor Reagan spoke, but their stiff shoulders and cold glares said enough.
"And one more thing," Benjamin continued. "You will both keep what was said here between us. Vicky will hear it from me when I decide the time is right. Is that clear?"
Reagan gave a terse nod. Nick followed, jaw tight.
When their eyes met again, the air between them burned—anger still pulsing beneath their calm exteriors. Their silence wasn’t peace; it was a fragile truce held together only by Benjamin’s command.
After a few moments, Liam, Vicky, Georgia, and Sarah had entered Benjamin’s office.
"You two transfer to the sofa," Benjamin told Reagan and Nick before he stood in front of his desk, leaning on it.
"First, let me say this. Sarah will be part of the Knight family, and she will carry our name, no questions asked. Once she joins our family, she will follow the same rules that all of you have been following for years," Benjamin said. "I will talk to you both soon," Benjamin told Sarah and Georgia.
"As for you, Vicky, I don’t like how you acted, and I will not force you to say sorry now, but I am expecting you to apologize soon, after you reflect on what you did. All of you will accept Sarah. You’re not the only one who is affected by this union. Don’t you think both Reagan and Sarah were not going to hear negative things from others?
For the longest time, people knew that Nick and Sarah were paired, and they were seen together many times. As a woman, Sarah will be the most affected by this, but she still chose to proceed with the marriage," Benjamin said.
But Vicky’s anger still has the same intensity as before; even after the commotion, it didn’t die down.
Vicky laughed sarcastically, ignoring her father. "Dad, don’t be naive, you have no idea what’s going on in her mind. We all know she’s deeply in love with Nick, and that kind of feeling doesn’t go away right away, so why did she all of a sudden agree to marry Reagan?
I am not blind, until now, even if she has accepted Reagan to be her husband, her heart still belongs to Nick. You only know her by what she is showing you. That woman is vengeful. I’ve seen women lose their jobs whenever they try to get close to Nick, and now she wants to still join our family via Reagan? She’s bad news; she will destroy this family for sure!"
"I don’t want her, I will not accept her, and that’s final!" Vicky added, raising her eyebrows as she glared at Sarah. She totally looked like a villainess, and she doesn’t even give a damn about it.
