CHAPTER 291: KEEP EATING (1)

Georgia’s POV

Everything came together so easily that day. With the girls’ help, choosing what we needed for the wedding felt more like a party than a task. Even with the countless options the suppliers presented, I somehow knew exactly what I wanted, especially when it came to my wedding dress.

Vera showed me sketches, fabrics, and the most exquisite lace I’d ever seen before she started drawing one of her own. My gown. Designed by Vera Wang herself. I still couldn’t believe it. She’d long stopped accepting personal requests, yet she made an exception for me, all because of Nick.

It made my heart swell. I’d never felt so special in my entire life.

But if I’m being honest, the best part of the day wasn’t the gown or the flowers, it was the cake tasting. I was still sitting there long after everyone had started packing up, fork in hand, happily devouring another slice of vanilla chiffon like it was the most important decision of my life.

"Should I tell Vera to add an inch or two to your dress?"

I jumped slightly at the familiar voice. Nick was leaning against the doorframe, his tie loose, arms crossed, and that teasing smile that could melt any woman on sight. "With how much cake you’ve eaten, babe, I’m worried you’ll faint at the altar because your dress is too tight and you can’t breathe."

I quickly wiped my mouth and took a sip of water, pretending to be offended even as I tried not to laugh. "No need for that, Mr. Knight. This is just a one-time thing," I said, then lifted a slice toward him with a grin. "Come on, try this one. It’s the flavor I picked for the wedding."

He stepped aside to let the crew leave before walking over to me, that soft smile still tugging at his lips. When he sat beside me, the world seemed to shrink down to just us and the sweet scent of vanilla between us.

Without a word, I scooped a forkful of cake and brought it to his lips. He leaned forward, eyes locked on mine, and took the bite.

"Mmm," he hummed. "That tastes good."

I laughed softly as I watched him chew. "Told you. That’s why I can’t stop eating them. They’re all delicious, but this one’s the winner."

Nick leaned in closer, brushing his thumb across the corner of my lips to wipe off a crumb. "I agree," he murmured, eyes glinting. "But the sweetest thing in this room isn’t the cake."

My breath caught, and just like that—I was smiling like a fool, completely undone by the man who could turn even a cake tasting into something unforgettable.

"Where is everyone?" Nick asked, his deep voice echoing softly in the now quiet room. His eyes scanned the space; only a few crew members and two janitors were left, tidying up the last bits of mess.

"Everyone has work tomorrow," I said between bites, pointing at the half-eaten cake in front of me. "So I told them to go ahead. I’ll just sit here, finish these, and wait for you."

Nick hummed, a fond smile tugging at his lips before he picked up a fork and joined me, stealing a bite as if someone would take all of it from him. He looked so relaxed—and handsome... tie loose, sleeves rolled up, and that maddening glint in his eyes that always meant trouble.

When he noticed the janitors about to leave, he called out, "Wait." He grabbed four untouched boxes of cake and handed them over. "Take these home. You don’t have to stay. We’ll take care of the rest. Just double-check tomorrow if we left anything behind."

The two smiled from ear to ear, thanking him before heading out. And just as the door shut behind them, Nick quietly turned the lock.

My fork froze midair. "No, no, no... Hey!"

He turned to me with that wicked grin that made my stomach flip. "What?" he said, feigning innocence like a sinner caught mid-prayer.

"Don’t you ’what’ me. I know that look, Nicholas. Unlock that door right now." I stood up, glaring at him, though my pulse was already betraying me.

He chuckled lowly, taking slow, deliberate steps toward me. "Why should I?" His tone was teasing, smug. "I did warn you earlier, didn’t I? You should’ve been ready by now."

God, that man. So utterly annoying.

And yet, as he closed the distance between us, that same naughty whisper from earlier replayed in my head—the one about his office and all the things he wanted to do to me there... here.

And suddenly, the locked door didn’t feel like such a bad idea after all.

Nick cupped my face and pressed his lips against mine, slow and teasing me until my pulse fluttered out of control. His kiss deepened before he lifted me effortlessly onto the long table as the warmth of his body caged me in.

He grabbed a spoonful of cake and brought it to my lips, smirking when I hesitated. "Open up," he murmured, and before I could protest, the sweetness was already on my tongue.

"What the..." I started, but he suddenly leaned forward and unclasped my bra from behind and whispered, "Keep eating," he said before I felt his hands slip under my shirt and his tongue on my neck, tasting me as if I was a cake.

I gasped when he squeezed my breast hard; his other hand was slowly unbuttoning my shirt in front.

"Nick..." I said I was going to say something, but he then again pressed a spoonful of cake on my mouth. "Hey!" I exclaimed in a muffled voice.

He just chuckled and unzipped my pencil skirt so fast that I didn’t notice it until he was already pulling it up, and soon he was able to remove my panties in one swift move.

"Told you to just keep eating. Do your thing, I’ll do mine," he said.

Yeah right! As if I can do that when his hands were all over me, touching me in places that set my blood on fire.
