Aurora’s PO.V
I woke up the next morning, all covered in sweat. It felt like I was sleeping next to a furnace and my entire body was on fire.
Opening my eyes groggily, I looked around at what could possibly be the problem. The AC was turned on in full st…then how could I be bsweating /blike
bthis/b?
That’s when I felt a weight on my waist, a hand casually thrown over me and a body pressed to my back. What on earth…?
I almost jumped up from surprise when I saw that Caleb was the one to whom I was sleeping next to.
“What the…?” I looked under the covers in horror, but thankfully, I was still fully clothed…and so was Caleb. Then what was going on? How did we…?
That’s when the events fromst night filtered into my mind. Caleb and I had had dinner together and then he hade into my room so we could he desserts here, ice–cream to be specific. But after we had our ice–cream, Caleb and I had talked for a long time about werewolves and mating bonds…until had ended up falling asleep again. What I hadn’t realized…was that Caleb had fallen asleep right next to me…
He was still in that same position, with his arm on my waist, while he bwas /blying on his other arm folded under the pillow. It made me feel a tad bit guilty that I hadn’t sent him back as soon as we had finished our desserts. But it also made me feel a bit giddy having him so close to me. There wasn’t bany /bawkwardness, well…except for the heat. But why did it feel so…intense?..
“Caleb?” I spoke softly, trying to wake him up. I didn’t want to let go or make him leave, but he had school. “Wake bup/b…
No reply.
“Caleb? You’ll bete for school.” I called again but he didn’t say anything. I tried to touch his arm but flinched back instantly.
“Shit!”
He was burning up, a lot warmer than his ordinary temperature. His breathing was also a lot heavier than normal. This is why I had woken up sweatingb! /bCaleb was like a furnace next to me!
“You have a fever.” I said, cautiously touching his face in worry.
But it looked like he was out cold. Was this normal? Didn’t it say in TV shows and movies that supernatural beings couldn’t get sick? Was that true for real wolves as well? Oh god! What do I do?
b“/bCaleb! Caleb wake up!” I called him frantically while trying to shake him awake. But he wasn’t replying at all.
He stirred a bit after I shook him with more force, enough to get his attention, but not enough to hurt, but even though his eyes opened just a slit, they were unreactive…like he wasn’t hearing or seeing anything at all.
“Caleb! Oh god! Don’t worry you’ll be alright!” I eximed when I saw that he was sweating heavily too.
With much difficulty I pushed his hand off of me and reached for the cell–phone on the bedside table that Caroline had given me and dialled her number. When she didn’t answer immediately, I grew restless.
Seven ringster, Caroline finally picked up the phone, sounding breathless. “Sorry! I was in the shower. bAre /byou okay?”
“It’s not me, it’s Caleb!” I told her frantically. “He’s…I don’t know, Caroline! He has a fever! Please…help him!”
“Calm down, okay.” Caroline reassured me, even though I could hear the worry seep into her voice. “I’ll be there in a few.”
The line went dead after that and I ced the phone beside me to turn my attention back to Caleb once more.
