CHAPTER 294: CHAPTER 294: WHY DID YOU DECEIVE HER?
Ji Wei was a little surprised that Xi Nanfeng guessed it right away.
She pressed her lips into a smile and looked at him. "Since Second Young Master Xi already figured it out, I won’t beat around the bush. Please tell me Mo Qian’s exact address in Tokyo. He’s not answering my calls, so I have no choice but to ask you."
Xi Nanfeng wasn’t at all surprised by her request. He chuckled lightly, picking up the teacup in front of him and taking a sip. "What if I can’t tell you?"
Ji Wei kept her smile, as though she had anticipated his response. Her bright and clear eyes fixed on Xi Nanfeng. "It’s Mo Qian who told you not to say anything, isn’t it?"
Xi Nanfeng froze mid-motion.
A trace of disappointment flickered in Ji Wei’s eyes but quickly disappeared. Her tone remained calm and composed. "Second Young Master Xi, I don’t think you need to keep this from me. Even if you don’t tell me, I’ll still find a way to figure out his address—it’ll just take me a bit more time. I came to you because I’m in a hurry to find him."
"I trust you’re capable of that," Xi Nanfeng nodded. "But I can’t go back on my promise. My apologies."
Ji Wei looked at him in silence.
Xi Nanfeng felt thoroughly uneasy under her gaze, yet he dared not reveal his discomfort, leaving him in torment.
After a long while, Ji Wei suddenly stood up, her tone indifferent. "I apologize for the disturbance."
Xi Nanfeng breathed a sigh of relief upon hearing this, though inwardly he had been sweating while being stared at in silence by Ji Wei a moment ago.
Old Mo’s instructions were truly hard to carry out.
"Oh, by the way, there’s something I forgot to tell Second Young Master Xi." Just as Ji Wei was about to leave, she turned her head to look at Xi Nanfeng. "Miss Qin Sixue will be accompanying me to Tokyo."
"What are you saying?" Xi Nanfeng was shocked, and a few droplets of tea splashed from his cup in his agitation.
"I went to see Miss Qin just now. I told her you intended to head to Tokyo and asked if she wanted to join, and she readily agreed."
Xi Nanfeng looked utterly incredulous. "Why did you lie to her?"
"I didn’t lie," Ji Wei said with a faint smile. "You’ll definitely go, just a little later than planned. I don’t believe Second Young Master Xi can truly sit still and watch as your two brothers face danger in Japan without lifting a finger."
Xi Nanfeng stared at Ji Wei, his eyes widening. "You... know everything?"
"I don’t know the details, but I’m sure Mo Qian is in danger on this trip abroad," Ji Wei replied.
Xi Nanfeng lowered his eyes slightly in thought.
Since Ji Wei already had some idea, it might be impossible to stop her from going to Japan. Letting her act without guidance could lead to even greater risks...
Xi Nanfeng’s expression grew increasingly serious as he silently contemplated for a long time. Finally, he lifted his head to look at Ji Wei and relented. "Alright, I’ll give you the address, but don’t act recklessly."
...
After leaving the Xi Family’s residence, Ji Wei called Qin Sixue.
"I’m sorry, Miss Qin. I misheard earlier—Second Young Master Xi doesn’t currently plan to go to Japan. I’ve just confirmed this with him. Hopefully, we’ll have another chance to travel together next time."
"That’s alright. It’s been nice getting to know you as a friend, Miss Ji," Qin Sixue responded kindly.
Ji Wei apologized once more before hanging up.
Before coming to the Xi Family, she already knew what Xi Nanfeng’s weak spot was, which is why she resorted to this tactic.
Although she now had Mo Qian’s exact address in Tokyo, Ji Wei did not immediately head to the airport. For one, the visa process would take some time. For another, she still needed to meet someone.
It was almost noon, and Ji Wei bought some bread to tide herself over before heading straight to Zimei Club.
