CHAPTER 613: CHAPTER 613: DO NOT LOOK AT OTHER MEN

Jin Xin suddenly felt a piercing gaze on her back. A chill ran down her neck as she turned around hurriedly, only to see Gu Moqian and Ji Wei standing behind her. Jolted, she awkwardly smiled and pointed to the sofa, "I forgot to grab my backpack."

"It’s fine, go ahead," Ji Wei replied warmly with a smile.

Jin Xin felt slightly intimidated by Gu Moqian. Swallowing hard, she quickly picked up her backpack and gestured that she was leaving.

However, as soon as she stepped out of the living room, Gu Moqian and Ji Wei followed closely behind.

Gu Moqian’s car was parked at the villa entrance, so inevitably, the three of them ended up walking together.

Jin Xin felt uncomfortable, gripping her backpack strap tightly and keeping her head down, focusing on the path ahead. Yet, the conversation between the two people behind her still reached her ears.

"Mo Qian, what do you feel like eating tonight?"

"You?"

"..."

Even though Ji Wei knew Gu Moqian was teasing her on purpose to settle the score from the study earlier, her face turned red instantly. She glared at him with a mock angry look.

Can’t you be more mindful? Jin Xin is walking right ahead!

Seeing the woman’s cheeks blush, her eyes both shy and playful as she gazed at him, Gu Moqian’s mood improved considerably. "Ask Aunt Zhu to make some soup. It’s cold, and it’ll warm us up."

Up front, Jin Xin felt as though she was being force-fed another dose of "dog food"—the kind of sickly sweetness that couples share—but the worst part was, she couldn’t complain about it!

As they neared the villa entrance, the two behind her suddenly quieted down.

Jin Xin turned back in curiosity, only to see Ji Wei locked in Gu Moqian’s embrace, the two kissing passionately, entangled and inseparable.

It was the first time Jin Xin had witnessed someone making out, and her face instantly flushed a deep red. She hurriedly looked away, flustered.

Speeding up her steps toward the outside, she glanced up only to see Jin Qichuan waiting for her by the car, leaning against the door, his gaze fixed beyond her toward the scene behind. His expression carried a certain sorrow.

Jin Xin sighed inwardly.

Why of all people did her older brother have to fall for Ji Wei? Was this setting him up for a lifetime of being unmarried? If their mother found out, who knows how much she’d lament and despair.

Walking up to Jin Qichuan, she said, "Brother, let’s go."

Seeing Jin Qichuan remaining motionless, she bypassed him, rounded the front of the car, and directly opened the door to the passenger seat.

Just then, Ji Wei and Gu Moqian also came outside. At the sight of Jin Qichuan, Gu Moqian’s gaze instantly turned sharp and icy, while Ji Wei merely nodded indifferently and headed toward the nearby Maybach.

Old Xu opened the car door for Gu Moqian.

Before stepping inside, Gu Moqian gently pulled Ji Wei into his embrace, his breath brushing against her cheeks as he spoke in a low, magnetic voice, "Be good and wait for me to come back. And don’t go looking at other men."

The man’s deep, commanding tone carried a hint of possessiveness, causing Ji Wei’s ears to flush faintly.

Ji Wei nodded obediently like a little girl.

Only then did Gu Moqian release her, satisfied.

Just as he was about to get into the car, he seemed to remember something. Gu Moqian turned back around, placing his large hand gently on Ji Wei’s abdomen and stroking it lightly. "Baby, Daddy’s heading to work now. Listen to Mommy and don’t move around too much, so you don’t make her uncomfortable, okay?"

Standing a short distance away, Jin Qichuan couldn’t make out what Gu Moqian was saying, but seeing his usually cold and sharp eyes soften with tenderness as he leaned down to speak to the baby in Ji Wei’s belly, he looked every inch the doting father-to-be.

Meanwhile, Ji Wei stood there meekly with a serene smile, her gaze toward Gu Moqian brimming with overflowing love.

Jin Qichuan’s heart suddenly ached fiercely.

"Brother, we should leave now..." Seeing Jin Qichuan standing by the car, his face pale, Jin Xin called out in distress.

He finally snapped out of it, silently opened the car door, and got in.
