CHAPTER 114: CHAPTER 67: HOWARD GEOFFREY COMES TO RESCUE HER (PART 2)

Howard Geoffrey sat at one end of the oval conference table, listening to several high-level executives express their concerns about the commercial building, yet his expression showed no sign of hesitation.

"Mr. Geoffrey, the designer was invited by ’Oversky’. Since there’s an issue, should we invite Mr. Jones here to discuss it?" Another executive spoke up.

Howard glanced impatiently at his watch and, the next moment, casually said, "Go ahead as you suggested, let Skyler Jones be in charge when he comes."

"Ah?"

The executives were surprised, as no one anticipated that Mr. Geoffrey would dismiss Skyler Jones so nonchalantly.

"Today’s meeting ends here!" With that, Howard stood up and left the conference room straight away.

Outside the meeting room, the secretary hurried to catch up with Howard. Once caught up, the secretary said, "Mr. Geoffrey, someone called you."

Howard took the phone handed over by the secretary, glanced at the number on it, and pressed the answer button, "Speak."

"Dora, don’t always act as if people owe you money. I have some good news to report." Roger Leonard’s cheerful voice came through.

Howard walked into his office, sat in his chair behind the desk, set the phone to speaker, and tossed it onto the desk, while he began reviewing the documents sent from headquarters.

"I went to Y City to see Becca."

Howard paused for a moment in his actions of reviewing the documents but showed no further reaction, allowing Roger to continue.

"You’ve probably guessed, I went on orders. But that’s not the point. The point is, I’ve ’brought’ Becca away."

Howard still didn’t show much reaction, his gaze remained fixed on the documents in front of him.

Roger, accustomed to Howard’s lack of response, continued, "What I want to report to you is, I brought her to Foam Island."

Upon hearing "Foam Island", Howard finally raised an eyebrow, closed the document, and coldly replied, "Do you have nothing better to do?"

As a matter of fact, Foam Island is a private uninhabited island Howard bought in Florida, USA.

It has a tropical climate, sunshine all year round, picturesque scenery, with an average annual temperature around 25°, making it an ideal vacation spot.

Howard purchased the island because of its environment, and within a few years, he equipped it with high-end facilities, turning it into his personal retreat destination for work relaxation. Nelson Lewis and Roger Leonard also frequently flew over, and over time, the island became a gathering place for the three brothers, where they met several times a year.

"I’m innocent, I couldn’t defy Aunt’s orders... Aunt saw news that Becca is about to marry Skyler Jones, she was worried for you, so she came up with this idea... I went to great lengths to bring Becca to the island, Dora. Before Becca marries Skyler Jones, seize the opportunity!"

Howard’s face turned ashen with clear displeasure, about to hang up the call, when Roger added, "Don’t think about calling Aunt now. Aunt said she knows you will call to reprimand her, so she won’t pick up. I suggest you quickly head to Foam Island, because Aunt had me send away all the staff on the island. Now, Becca is alone there, with no water or electricity. If you’re heartless enough to leave Becca alone on the island, then so be it; she won’t likely face any danger. If you don’t go there by the third day, I’ll let Skyler Jones fetch her, and by then, Becca, scared out of her wits, will probably throw herself tearfully into Skyler Jones’s arms..."

"Damn it!!"

After hearing Roger’s words, Howard flung the phone aside.

Foam Island.

Rebecca Quentin was brought to the island blindfolded.

After she removed her blindfold, she found that the burly bodyguards who brought her here had already departed by yacht.

The island’s environment matched Roger’s description...

Beautiful and clean, with azure beaches, its environment and facilities exquisite and luxurious, indeed a great place for a vacation.

According to Roger, this island was bought by Howard, and whenever they had time, they would meet here for a vacation.

However, the originally well-equipped island was now deserted, with her alone on it. What scared her more was the lack of water and electricity, and even the villa’s food was just biscuits, appearing to be in poor condition.

Fortunately, the past four years of wandering from place to place had rid Rebecca Quentin of her previous pampered ways, and she could barely adapt to such conditions.

So, on her first night on the island, she stayed in the island’s sole villa.

The villa was, of course, designed for vacation, with ocean views visible throughout, even the headboard was a large piece of glass.

Rebecca randomly chose a room but never thought she’d so easily choose Howard’s room.

She was certain it was Howard’s room because there were too many things she was familiar with inside...

Uniform dark suits, several branded ties, the familiar bathtub and shower in the bathroom, and the usual razor...

All these were things she’d remembered during the two years of their marriage...

She originally didn’t plan to stay in this room, but when night fell and the entire island was pitch black with the wind blowing, she dared not go anywhere, only staying in this room, hugging the quilt, curling herself in the corner of the bed.

Who would have thought, while Rebecca Quentin spent that uneasy night, Roger Leonard was casually leaning by the window, talking on the phone with Mrs. Geoffrey.

"Yes, Aunt, everything was done as you said. Now, Becca is alone on the island... you don’t need to worry, she’ll be fine, after all, the environments she’s been in over the past four years might have been worse than the island... well, as for Dora, there’s been no movement yet, but don’t worry, dealing with him requires patience... okay, I’ll give him another nudge, wait for my good news!"

After ending the call with Mrs. Geoffrey, Roger immediately sent a video to Howard.

The secretary held a newly purchased phone for Howard, and after the meeting ended, nervously handed it to him.

The reason the secretary was particularly afraid of Howard today was that his mood seemed rather poor, he had lashed out at the company’s executives during the morning meeting, making everyone uneasy, and causing people to speculate that Howard must not have slept well last night.
