CHAPTER 180: CHAPTER 101: THE NEXT TIME I SEE HIM (1)
Rebecca Quentin slumped back in her chair, silent for a long time before asking, "Doctor, if I don’t want this child, does it mean it’ll be more difficult for me to have children in the future?"
The doctor replied truthfully, "It’s not to the point of infertility, but the harm from an abortion is significant, and your physical condition is not very good, so I must consider the potential problems that may arise. Of course, if you insist on the operation, I will do my best to minimize the harm."
Rebecca bit her lip and said, "Doctor, I want to think about it."
"Okay, you can go outside to rest for a bit and let me know once you’ve decided."
"Thank you, doctor."
Sitting on the bench in the corridor, Rebecca rested her hand on her abdomen once more.
She knew the feeling of a tiny life growing inside her...
At first, it was as uncomfortable as it is now, but by four or five months, she would feel the baby moving inside her, especially by five months, the baby would move its hands and feet in her belly, as if swimming inside, and every time filled her with immense satisfaction and pride.
She really loved children. If she lost this child and could never be linked with a child again in this life, what would she do? Even though she hadn’t considered starting a new relationship, just thinking about such a result terrified her.
As she walked disoriented out of the hospital, Rebecca had not yet reached the roadside to hail a taxi when a familiar male voice called from behind her.
"You really are pregnant!"
The familiar voice startled Rebecca, and she turned abruptly, only to see Roger Leonard standing just two meters away.
Her voice carried a clear tone of panic, "Mr. Leonard?"
Roger Leonard approached Rebecca, frowning, "You have Dora’s child, why haven’t you told Dora?"
Rebecca tried hard to deny it, "What child? I just felt unwell and came to the hospital for a check-up."
Roger Leonard bluntly said, "I watched you enter the gynecology department with my own eyes, and the nurse said you were here for an abortion."
"You followed me?" Rebecca was stunned.
"I didn’t mean to follow you, it’s just that I saw you vomiting at the hotel earlier... A woman once tried to deceive me with that trick, so I’m particularly sensitive to these things," Roger Leonard explained.
Rebecca lightly bit her lower lip, "Since you know everything, there’s nothing left for me to explain."
Roger Leonard spoke softly, "My car is over there, can we talk in the car for a moment?"
Rebecca hesitated for a few seconds, then finally walked toward Roger Leonard’s car.
Inside the car, Roger Leonard turned to look at Rebecca and spoke first, "Do you realize how daring you are, hiding such a big matter from Dora?"
Rebecca remained silent.
Roger Leonard continued, "Fortunately, you didn’t choose to have the abortion earlier, or I would have stopped you."
Rebecca lifted her eyes from her silence and looked straight ahead, calmly stating, "Then you must know that the doctor advised against the abortion, as it would severely harm my body."
"Even if there was no harm to your body, you can’t choose abortion; Dora doesn’t know about this yet, and you don’t have the right to decide alone!" Roger Leonard said seriously.
Rebecca directly replied, "I never planned to let him know."
Roger Leonard frowned, "He’s the child’s father; he has the right to know!"
Rebecca asked seriously, "Mr. Leonard, do you think I should get entangled with Howard Geoffrey just because of this child?"
"But..."
Rebecca bitterly interrupted what Roger Leonard was about to say, "Howard and I are no longer involved, and I don’t want to be seen by him as intentionally doing this because of the child. Besides, I just want to live well alone now, without getting involved with people who make me unhappy!"
Roger Leonard could clearly feel that Rebecca now had a deep aversion to Howard Geoffrey, but this aversion was not from a lack of love, but from despair.
Roger Leonard sighed, "If Dora finds out about this, the consequences will surely be very serious."
"He will never find out, as long as you don’t tell him," Rebecca pleaded.
Roger Leonard expressed his concern, "You know you can’t hide this from Dora forever."
Rebecca calmly replied, "I’ve thought about it. I’ll work in Y City for a while, so he won’t be suspicious, and I can earn some travel money for myself. In three months, I’ll leave the Flowery Kingdom and go to a place where I’ll never meet him!"
