CHAPTER 305: CHAPTER 164: BABY, WAIT FOR ME TO COME BACK (PART 3)

Rebecca Quentin opened the door wider, "Please come in!"

Lisa Cecily and Jason Wood immediately walked into the apartment.

Rebecca Quentin politely said, "Have a seat!"

Lisa Cecily and Jason Wood didn’t dare act presumptuously in their boss’s home; they stood respectfully in front of Rebecca Quentin.

Now it was Jason Wood’s turn to speak, "Miss Quentin, if you have any instructions, feel free to ask us to do it."

Rebecca Quentin shook her head, "There’s really nothing I need you to do."

Lisa Cecily said, "Miss Quentin, the president has gone to Y City. If there’s even the slightest mishap with you in New York, the days ahead will be difficult for Jason Wood and me."

Rebecca Quentin was amused by Lisa Cecily’s words, "If anything happens, I’ll call you."

"Alright then!"

Jason Wood said, "In that case, we won’t disturb you any longer."

"Uh, wait a moment." Thinking of the text message earlier, Rebecca Quentin stopped Lisa Cecily and Jason Wood, who were heading toward the door.

Both of them turned around simultaneously, looking at Rebecca Quentin respectfully.

Rebecca Quentin walked up to them and smiled, "I suddenly remembered, I want to go out to buy some food, the fridge is almost empty..."

Jason Wood quickly said, "Miss Quentin, let me drive you there!"

"No need, I know there’s a supermarket very close by, I’ll be back shortly, could I trouble you to take care of Andrew while I’m gone?"

Lisa Cecily eagerly said, "Don’t worry, I’m also a mother of two, I know how to take care of children."

"Thank you."

Rebecca Quentin hailed a taxi from the roadside and told the driver, "Aye Cafe."

The car quickly arrived at the cafe, and by the window, Rebecca Quentin saw Alice Robinson elegantly sipping coffee.

When Alice Robinson looked up inadvertently and saw Rebecca Quentin, she couldn’t help but smile at her.

Rebecca Quentin sat down across from Alice Robinson.

Alice Robinson spoke first, "The last time I invited you, you didn’t come. I thought you wouldn’t come today either."

Rebecca Quentin ordered a cup of coffee and said calmly, "You guessed wrong. I did come last time, but you also invited Howard Geoffrey. Clearly, you wanted me to see your conversation with him."

Alice Robinson put down her coffee and softly explained, "In fact, that day I originally invited you, but you never showed up. Later Howard Geoffrey called to ask where I was, so I told him I was at this cafe. I never thought you would come afterward, nor did I know you’d hear the conversation between Howard Geoffrey and me."

Rebecca Quentin’s tone remained calm, "Miss Robinson, you don’t need to pretend in front of me. It’s understandable you want to be with Howard Geoffrey by using schemes, but I must remind you, if you truly want Howard Geoffrey’s heart, you should use fewer schemes, because he doesn’t like scheming women."

Alice Robinson’s elegant face showed confusion, "I don’t know why you think I’m scheming, Miss Quentin?"

Rebecca Quentin took a sip of the coffee handed to her by the waiter and replied, "On the day I was preparing to leave New York, you deliberately asked to meet at the cafe and then told me that the real culprit behind my mother’s and Mr. Robinson’s deaths was actually old Mrs. Geoffrey and not my father. Your purpose was to get me to stay in New York and investigate. This way, you could let me see firsthand that you’re carrying Howard Geoffrey’s child, and have me investigate his mother, thereby driving a wedge between him and me. Ultimately, you could eliminate me as a rival... such a well-thought-out plan you had."

Alice Robinson suddenly smiled, "Miss Quentin, you really surprise me. The last time we met, I didn’t see this wise mind behind your gentle appearance."

Rebecca Quentin came straight to the point, "You invited me here today to find out why I’m with Howard Geoffrey, right?"

"Exactly... I expected you to stay in New York, but I didn’t think you’d choose to be with him."

"It’s simple, he confessed to me at the airport, moved me, so I wanted to give us a chance."

Alice Robinson knitted her brows, "At this point, do you really not care that I have a child with Howard Geoffrey?"

Rebecca Quentin’s face displayed a calm smile, "Why should I care? Howard Geoffrey said he would take care of everything as long as I stay by his side."

"Did he also tell you that the day I was going to have an abortion, he came in time to let me keep the child?"

At this moment, Rebecca Quentin’s gaze fixed on the coffee cup by Alice Robinson’s hand.

Alice Robinson noticed Rebecca Quentin’s gaze and immediately explained, "Oh, sorry, this isn’t coffee; this is maternity milk powder I specifically brought for the cafe to prepare." Saying this, Alice Robinson placed the cup in front of Rebecca Quentin.

Within Rebecca Quentin’s sight, it was indeed white milk.

Thinking of Howard Geoffrey’s expression on hearing that Alice was planning an abortion, a pang of pain swept through Rebecca Quentin’s heart, yet she maintained her expression, speaking in a light tone, "Miss Robinson, you’re not even proud of having a child for Howard Geoffrey yet. So do you think I should wait for the position of Lady Geoffrey, having already delivered him an heir?"

Alice Robinson praised, "Miss Quentin, you really are sharp-tongued..."

Rebecca Quentin stood up at this point, without a trace of anger or resentment, and spoke in an exceedingly graceful voice, "I’m sorry, Miss Robinson, I have to go now. Thank you for the coffee... I hope, Miss Robinson, you won’t invite me again, as I won’t be coming. Finally, a friendly reminder: if you truly want to be with Howard Geoffrey, you shouldn’t attack from my side but spend more time thinking about how to please him."

Leaving these words, Rebecca Quentin straightened her posture and walked straight out of the cafe.

No one would know that after walking out of the cafe, Rebecca Quentin’s bright eyes slowly dimmed, the pride and loftiness on her face vanished suddenly, the focus of her gaze gradually dissipated, and she seemed suddenly drained of energy, looking lost and dejected.

She wasn’t nearly as strong as she pretended to be on the surface. When talking to Alice Robinson earlier, no one knew the bitterness that had reached her throat...

He actually kept Alice Robinson’s baby?

Although she felt relieved for the innocent child in Alice’s belly, she felt sorrowful for herself...

She even allowed herself to be moved by such a deceitful man, a man whose every word is a lie, not a single one worth trusting...

He said he hadn’t been with Alice Robinson, yet now she has his child. He said he only wanted to be with her and their child in the future, but let Alice bear him a child...
