CHAPTER 380: CHAPTER 203: JOINING THE GEOFFREY FAMILY (PART 3)

Howard Geoffrey stepped on the brake in time, glanced coldly at Alice Robinson, and said displeased, "You’re not even afraid of death anymore?"

Alice’s body swayed, and she dejectedly murmured, "Without you, what meaning does life have for me in this world."

Howard showed not the slightest emotion at Alice’s words. He took out his phone and dialed a series of numbers.

Through the windshield, Alice stared blankly at Howard, speaking to herself, "I know it was wrong to deceive you, but have you ever had an ounce of pity for me? That night, if I hadn’t sensed something was wrong, I might have already been humiliated by someone Jason Wood casually called over. I don’t understand how you can be so cruel to me. Do I really make you that disgusted?"

Howard paid no attention to Alice, not responding to her words at all.

Tears welled up in Alice’s eyes, "I wasn’t pregnant, but I falsely claimed I was, not to make my uncle force you to take responsibility for me, nor to make my parents and my brother give you pressure. I just wanted to provoke Rebecca Quentin...I admit, I am narrow-minded. As long as the supposed pregnancy could become an obstacle for Rebecca trying to be with you, I was happy. But I knew after you handled what you needed to, you wouldn’t forgive me, but I had no choice. If I didn’t do this, not only would I have to watch Rebecca gloat, but I would also lose the chance to stay by your side..."

Alice’s words were cut off as several bodyguard-like men approached her and forcibly pulled her aside.

Howard never looked at Alice once. After she was pulled aside, he stepped on the accelerator and drove out of the garage.

Alice stared blankly at the car speeding away into the distance, her body slowly crumbled, and she finally sat on the ground.

Chester Robinson heard knocking on the door. When he opened it, he was surprised to see his sister standing there.

Upon seeing Chester, Alice burst into tears and threw herself into his arms. "Brother..."

"Alice."

Chester held his sister tightly, filled with compassion, and said, "What brings you here?"

Alice hugged him tightly, "Brother, I feel so miserable..."

Chester picked Alice up horizontally, closed the door with his foot, and laid her down on his bed, pulling the quilt over her to warm her cold body.

Alice sobbed and sniveled...

Chester sat quietly by the bedside, gazing at Alice with sorrow, but he had no comforting words to offer.

Alice clutched the blanket tightly and cried out in pain, "Brother, what do I lack compared to Rebecca Quentin? Why is his heart always with her?"

Chester still offered no opinion.

Only after Alice cried herself hoarse did Chester finally speak, "Now that you’ve let it out, try to get some sleep. I have to go to the hospital, call me if you need anything."

As Chester was about to leave, Alice hurriedly grabbed his hand, "Are you leaving me too?"

Chester paused, gently replying, "I just need to check in at the hospital briefly, I’ll be back soon."

Only then did Alice slowly let go of Chester’s hand and lean back against the headboard.

Hearing the doorbell, Rebecca Quentin, holding a now-awake Andrew, went to open the door.

Seeing Howard Geoffrey carrying the few household items she had asked for, she gave him a happy peck on the cheek. "Nicely done."

Howard put down the items and took Andrew into his arms from Rebecca, lovingly pecking his son, displaying a fatherly demeanor, "How long has he been awake?"

"He woke up just after you left..."

Howard then sat on the sofa with Andrew in his arms.

Rebecca sat closely next to Howard, wrapping her arm around him, watching Andrew laugh under his teasing. She sighed softly, "I don’t know if it’s a natural father-son bond, but during our time apart, he often cried. Now that you’re with me these days, he hasn’t cried once."

"I should have returned to you two much sooner."

Rebecca leaned her head on Howard’s shoulder, "Seeing Andrew cry, I often wonder if I’m too stubborn...If I weren’t so obstinate, maybe Andrew could have grown up in a complete family..."

Howard turned his face, looking at Rebecca with deep affection, "So, have you ever regretted choosing not to be with me?"

Rebecca nodded, "I feel like we owe Andrew a lot."

"The fortunate thing is, we still have all our life to build a warm home for our child."
