CHAPTER 77: CHAPTER 49 OCCUPYING HIS ROOM 1

That day, outside her villa, as she composed herself and dragged her luggage toward the airport, a black passenger van pulled up beside her. She paid no attention to it until several hands suddenly reached out from inside and pulled her into the van in an instant.

Aunt Clare was knocked aside. She screamed desperately but still couldn’t prevent Becca from being kidnapped.

Inside the van, Becca’s hands and feet were tied, and her mouth was gagged. All she could hear were the men inside discussing her with filthy, disgusting words.

Becca was too weak to struggle, but when several men got out of the van, leaving only one to watch her, she finally saw a chance.

Taking advantage of the man’s momentary inattention, she quietly freed her hands and forcefully pushed him out of the van.

Caught off guard, the man tumbled out. Becca quickly closed the door and swiftly grabbed her cell phone from her purse.

Instinctively, she wanted to dial his number. But as she pressed the first digit, she suddenly realized that she and Howard Geoffrey were now strangers. Out of a small sense of pride, in that instant, she changed her mind and called Aunt Clare instead.

Aunt Clare, frantic with worry, answered immediately. However, before Becca could speak, the van door was yanked open from the outside, and her phone was snatched away and flung out.

Before she could fully comprehend the situation, Becca was knocked unconscious.

Just before passing out, she vaguely saw a man with a flying eagle tattooed on his arm giving orders to the other men. Then, the man with the eagle tattoo left, and the lewd men he had just instructed approached her.

By the time she woke up, it was already dark. She was lying in what looked like an abandoned factory, barely breathing.

Depleted of strength, she saw several slash wounds on her chest. The blood had partially congealed, but the pain was unbearable.

As she fought through the pain, trying to sit up to stanch the bleeding, she suddenly realized she was completely naked. Even more horrifying, several used condoms were scattered beside her.

She would never forget how, in that moment, she had contemplated death. For the first time in her life, she had lost the will to live.

Later, she fainted. When she regained consciousness, she was in a hospital room.

Aunt Clare had rushed to the hospital after being notified by the police. Having clearly worried for an entire day, she looked haggard and aged. When Aunt Clare learned what Becca had endured, she was in a state of shock for a long time.

Afterward, Becca refused to speak or eat, as if she had lost all interest in the world. Aunt Clare, who took care of her in the hospital, was terrified something terrible would happen, so she stayed by her side every moment for three full months. It wasn’t until Aunt Clare collapsed from exhaustion beside Becca’s bed that Becca finally realized she couldn’t just let herself wither away. There were still many people who cared about her, like Aunt Clare and Isabella.

Who could have imagined how often such a painful memory would return as a nightmare, haunting her dreams? For years afterward, she never had a single night of peaceful sleep.

Such a targeted attack must have been orchestrated by someone. I’ve never had conflicts with anyone, so why would someone do this to me?

With this question plaguing her mind, after the police investigation dragged on for half a year without results and they began to treat her case perfunctorily, she hired a private detective to investigate for her.

The only clue was the flying eagle tattoo. This led the private investigator she hired to search T City’s countless tattoo parlors, like looking for a needle in a haystack.

After months of investigation, the detective finally found a lead in one tattoo shop and located the man with the eagle tattoo.

The private investigator initially advised her to report the man to the police and have him arrested. However, she didn’t. She wanted to find out who was truly behind it all—who would stop at nothing to destroy her.

Unable to continually afford the private investigator, Becca eventually used up all the savings from selling her villa. She began to search frantically for work, and her life became even more impoverished.

The investigation was lengthy and complicated, and the outcome was something Rebecca Quentin found impossible to believe.

The man with the flying eagle tattoo worked for Jason Wood, and Jason Wood worked for Howard Geoffrey. Therefore, Howard Geoffrey was clearly the true mastermind behind the entire ordeal.
