Shi Che’s brows and eyes lifted teasingly, his dark pupils shifted toward Ling Chuxia, and he spoke in a deep voice, "What’s the matter?"

Ling Chuxia’s face turned red as she pushed Shi Che’s hand away and finally looked up to meet his gaze, starting, "Shi Che, I have something to talk to you about."

But Shi Che didn’t feel like talking to Ling Chuxia at the moment. He just wanted to linger affectionately with her, so he lazily hummed a response, and his hand promptly returned to her body. Even his lips slowly brushed against her ear, kissing her bit by bit.

This behavior left Ling Chuxia unable to speak, her words interrupted time and time again, until frustration set in. Her eyes widened, her hands cupped Shi Che’s cheeks, and she forcefully pushed his handsome face away, scolding him, "Shi Che, stand up straight for me!"

He immediately stood up straight and steady, even his voice deep and teasing as he retorted, "Yes, standing straight. What else does Miss Chuxia wish to order?"

Ling Chuxia was a bit annoyed, but seeing Shi Che’s behavior, she couldn’t help but let out a giggle and punched him lightly, "You’re so annoying."

The bedroom’s soft, golden light shone on Ling Chuxia’s beautiful face, enhancing the smile in her eyes, making Shi Che’s heart flutter. But Shi Che held her even tighter, pausing between kisses just long enough to declare, "Whatever you have to say can wait until after!"

Shi Che leaned comfortably against the headboard, a satisfied expression on his handsome face, holding Ling Chuxia. His large palm gently caressed her back. Breaking the silence, he queried, "Chuxia, what did you want to tell me?"

Did he finally remember her?

Ling Chuxia let out a soft snort, looking dissatisfiedly at Shi Che, but still, she slowly began, "Shi Che, I want to go back to work."

Shi Che didn’t expect Ling Chuxia to bring up this topic, and he was momentarily stunned.

After finishing her statement and seeing no reply from Shi Che, she couldn’t help but lift her head within his embrace. However, from this angle, she could only see the side of Shi Che’s face, not his expression, forcing her to speak up again, "Shi Che, did you hear me?"

Shi Che slowly regained focus, his gaze lowered, meeting Ling Chuxia’s dark eyes. His hand involuntarily touched Ling Chuxia’s face as he countered her, "Why all of a sudden do you want to go to work?"
