CHAPTER 3: WOULD YOU MIND HAVING ONE MORE HUSBAND?

Jensen Sterling looked at the young girl not far away watching him, paused for a moment, and then said, "Sorry for calling you over so hastily, I hope you don’t mind."

Mia Sutton waved her hand slightly, "It’s okay." She considered it as admiring a handsome guy, and there might even be money involved; why would she mind?

"I heard you’ve been having conflicts with Martin Wright recently?" The man sitting to the side asked casually, as if talking about something very ordinary.

Upon hearing this, Mia Sutton responded indifferently, "It’s not a conflict, it’s a breakup."

Scummy guy can go chill somewhere!

Jensen Sterling was silent for a moment, a breakup...

The man’s eyes were deep, like an endless vortex, his fingers tapping lightly on the table—this he truly hadn’t anticipated.

After that, the room was silent for a while.

Mia Sutton didn’t mind the silence, carefully observing the man opposite her, who looked more casual than the formal appearance she’d seen in videos, yet his superior features were still irresistibly striking.

Mia Sutton’s gaze landed on his neck, his Adam’s apple was quite sexy, then slowly moved up—his lips were nicely shaped, slightly thin, with a tall nose bridge and deep eyes, every feature was dancing wildly on her aesthetic scale.

This man was just too good-looking.

As she was lost in thought, she heard Jensen Sterling speak.

"Miss Sutton, what do you think of me?" His tone was very calm but serious, he was genuinely asking Mia Sutton.

Mia Sutton: "You’re great, really great, good-looking, good personality, perfect!"

Jensen Sterling was taken aback, not expecting such an answer.

Then he chuckled softly; this was good, saving him a lot of trouble.

"I wonder if Miss Sutton would be willing to have a husband like me?"

Mia Sutton: "..."

How was this not what she imagined? Wasn’t he supposed to despise that scummy guy and then throw money at her!

How did it become this...?

Even as calm as she was, she hadn’t anticipated developments to take this form, her pretty eyes blinked hard twice.

"I know this request is rather abrupt, but I’m quite helpless, my family is pressing. Rest assured, it’s just a fake marriage, I won’t interfere with your actions post-marriage, nor will I stop you from making friends."

"You can tell me anything you want, and I’ll do my best to help you achieve it. You can think it over."

After speaking, Jensen Sterling watched the girl’s reaction, aware that it indeed seemed rather convention-defying, given they’d only met once.

Originally, he didn’t plan to act so quickly; today’s purpose was merely to let the young girl re-acquaint herself with him, nothing more, though it’s not as if he hadn’t considered directly stealing the show.

However, upon hearing that someone from the Young Family would return, he figured he still had time to wait.

Just upon hearing Mia Sutton say she broke up, he changed his mind; since it was no longer a corner to steal, taking her away wasn’t inappropriate at all.

But seeing the young girl’s appearance, it seemed she’d been startled.

Mia Sutton was not startled; she simply hadn’t expected the surprise to come so swiftly. While she hesitated whether to make a move, the opportunity presented itself!

"If you feel uncertain, you can think it over before responding."

"If you agree, I can offer financial assistance. I hear your father seems to be encountering difficulties recently; I can help as well."

Mia Sutton slightly lowered her gaze, moved her eyes, then almost without any hesitation said, "No need to consider, I agree."

What’s there to consider; she didn’t want to be Martin Wright’s girlfriend. Might as well become Jensen Sterling’s partner instead.

This time it was Jensen Sterling’s turn to be stunned. After regaining his composure, he realized his own awkwardness and chuckled internally.

"In that case, I’ll draft an agreement, and you can tell me any requirements you have."

He genuinely hadn’t planned to finalize things today, so didn’t prepare any documents.

But he also realized, the young girl was different from what others described, as well as from his investigations, even greatly so, but such a young lady seemed... even better.

As they chatted for a while, dishes started arriving.

Jensen Sterling was very gentlemanly, doing everything he should for Mia Sutton, serving her dishes, noticing her preference for spicy food and serving more of it.

When Mia Sutton was overwhelmed by the spice, a cup of water would appropriately appear beside her.

Throughout the meal, Mia Sutton ate happily.

As they departed, she smiled beautifully, waving her phone, "Then I’ll wait for Mr. Sterling’s message."
