CHAPTER 37: HIDE ME QUICKLY

The party was bustling with many people coming and going, and those who intended to probe Mia Sutton had now given up their thoughts.

Jensen Sterling introduced Mia Sutton to many people, and now everyone present knew that Gavin Sterling’s son was married, that was his wife, and the two were very much in love, practically inseparable.

Many people’s gazes quietly fell on them, and then they saw two figures hurrying through the laughing and talking crowd, somewhat out of place with everyone else.

Mia Sutton was pulling Jensen Sterling’s wrist, weaving through the crowd and heading outside at a brisk pace.

In a short period, they reached the outside, and Mia Sutton released Jensen Sterling’s hand, patting her chest and letting out a hefty sigh of relief, truly frightened.

If her dad caught her, she thought of that scene in her mind and instantly shivered all over.

No, no, if her dad found out that she had a flash marriage with someone, even if that person was Jensen Sterling, he’d still have her skinned.

Previously, she had a falling out with her family over that scumbag and then went into the entertainment industry. Now a flash marriage, one thing after another, could truly be the end of her.

Better to wait a bit longer, wait for a while before she tentatively tells her dad; for now, it’s better to just lay low.

They stopped, and Jensen Sterling glanced at her, reaching out to tidy her somewhat messy strands of hair: "What’s wrong, walking so hurriedly?"

Recalling the little girl’s whisper in his ear earlier, saying she wanted to leave, her tone was like a lazy small animal basking in the sun suddenly seeing something frightening, startled, just wanting to slip away quickly.

Of course, if her dad caught her, she’d be done for.

"I just thought I should return to the crew, it’s the first public performance, I should go back and practice more."

Jensen Sterling looked at her, then spoke after a few seconds: "Alright, let’s head back."

"Mm-hmm." Mia Sutton nodded eagerly.

By the time they picked Mia Sutton up and got her makeup and styling done, it was already afternoon, and now the sky outside had darkened, making it a bit blurry to see people outside of the lit areas.

Mia Sutton was about to move forward when she heard voices, causing her feet to freeze, and not only her feet but her brain too, with only one thought in her mind: she couldn’t be discovered.

Then she turned around, diving straight into Jensen Sterling’s arms in a fluster, grabbing his clothes: "Quick, hide me, hide me..."

Jensen Sterling’s hand was slightly raised, a bit stiff.

Since it was evening and a bit cold, he was initially planning to drape his coat over Mia Sutton.

But just as he raised his hand, the little girl suddenly turned and threw herself into his embrace.

"Hurry." The person in his arms urged.

Jensen Sterling lifted his gaze and saw the person walking towards them, dressed in formal attire, tidy and precise, despite his age, exuding a distinctive charm.

The person opposite was holding a phone, still talking to someone. The one in Jensen’s arms likely heard the voice getting closer and urged again, probably afraid of being discovered, speaking in a very low voice.

Because of the speaking, Jensen Sterling could even feel the warm breath upon his chest.

Then the man raised his hand, pulling the person into his embrace, wrapping them tightly with his coat.

Since Mia Sutton’s face was still buried in Jensen Sterling’s chest, only her beautiful hair and some dress hems were visible.

The footsteps grew closer, and Jensen Sterling lifted his head, meeting eyes with Simon Sutton.

Simon Sutton had just finished his call and noticed the intimate couple before him, slightly furrowing his brow.
