Contract Marriage: Let's Make It Real, Mrs. Sterling!
Chapter 46: Voting Results
CHAPTER 46: VOTING RESULTS
The stage lights all turned on, and the group of girls stood quietly there, forming a stark contrast with the previous excitement.
When the camera panned to Mia Sutton, her eyes curved gently, as if filled with starlight, dazzling and striking. Due to the large movements in the dance, her pink lips were slightly parted, and the loose strands of hair at her forehead were dampened by a thin layer of sweat, casually sticking to one side, adding a touch of disheveled beauty.
The crowd was still cheering, truly shocked, and it was only after the host repeatedly asked for quiet that the audience gradually quieted down.
Although the audience quieted, hearts were still pounding violently, beat after beat, as if about to burst forth from chests, the shock unable to dissipate for a long time.
The host took the microphone and loudly asked, "Do you think this performance was exciting?"
A tremendous cheer erupted from the audience seats below; "Exciting!"
More than just exciting, it was thrilling to the point of tingling.
The host knew this would happen because it was really too strong, except for Lynn Joyner’s group in the beginning, the other groups were completely overwhelmed, vanquished with no survivors.
"Alright, it seems everyone’s enthusiasm is high, so now let’s invite the group of participants we just saw on stage."
Before Mia Sutton’s group, another group had already completed their performance. When Mia Sutton’s group performed, their hearts sank to the depths, now looking at a sea of despair, the perfect word to describe it was ashen-faced.
Their group was a vocal group, the strongest in the vocal category, namely the group Shirley Golden had gone to. If others wore ashen faces, Shirley Golden’s face was livid.
They were clearly so strong, capable of such great adaptations, yet no one said a word when she was there, and when she left, no one tried to keep her.
Her skills were clearly far superior to that of Vivian Summers, yet they preferred to keep Vivian Summers, who was not as good as her, over her.
On stage, if not for the camera, Shirley Golden would have lost control long ago. Where the camera couldn’t see, her hands clenched tightly, long nails leaving red marks on her palms.
The host continued, "Please pick up your voting devices and cast your votes for the two groups of participants from this performance, voting time is thirty seconds!"
They stood with their backs to the screen behind them, unable to see the real-time voting results.
Everyone in Mia Sutton’s group, except Mia herself, was on edge. Although they heard the cheering from the audience and felt the enthusiasm, the nervousness in their hearts was uncontrollable, palms sweating, hearts in their throats.
Yet Mia Sutton kept smiling gently.
We’ve won, she thought to herself!
On the screen they couldn’t see, two sets of data began to climb gradually; although some supported the vocal group, the gap was visibly widening.
At first, the two data lines were almost even, but within a few seconds, Mia Sutton’s group’s line started to soar rapidly, quickly leaving the other group far behind.
The host: "Final three seconds, 3...2...1!"
Voting ended!
In the last few seconds, their votes climbed higher and higher, finally stopping at seven hundred thirty-two.
While the other group’s votes: two hundred twelve.
Simply worlds apart!
