Contract Marriage: Let's Make It Real, Mrs. Sterling!
Chapter 57: Just Being Sweet? I’m Faking It
CHAPTER 57: JUST BEING SWEET? I’M FAKING IT
Mia Sutton stared at the red exclamation mark for a full minute, then took a deep breath and threw her phone onto the bed with a bang.
Forget it, let it all end!
She already anticipated the outcome!
Lying on the bed for a while, the phone she had just tossed aside started ringing. Exhausted, Mia picked it up without even checking who it was and answered it.
"Hello..."
"Hello, Mia..." The moment she spoke, the person on the other end did too.
Mia paused, blinked, and looked at the phone—oh, oh, contract husband!
Then she switched the phone to her other hand and adjusted herself into a more comfortable position before saying:
"Mr. Sterling, I was just about to call you. Why did you come to the show? Was your trip back alright? Did any fans block you?"
When she expressed concern, she was never at a loss for words; they just spilled out like beans.
As if she was really about to call him—if it wasn’t for Jensen Sterling calling, Mia would probably still be figuring out how to deal with her parents, tricky as they are.
But would she say that? No, she would choose her words more nicely.
On the other end, Jensen Sterling didn’t expect his call to be met with such a barrage of questions.
They’re all pretty normal, aren’t they?!
Unconsciously, the slight furrow in the man’s brow relaxed a little.
"It’s okay, Cameron came over, didn’t get blocked by fans." He answered all her questions.
Except for the first one: why did he come?
Why? Simply to make others believe that he genuinely loves Mia Sutton. He was good at putting on a show, never willing to leave any flaws.
Yet, when faced with the girl’s caring questions, he suddenly found himself unable to answer, unwilling to lie to her, so he simply skipped the question.
Mia didn’t notice at all; she was just asking offhandedly.
"That’s good."
Hearing the girl’s voice, the thought Jensen had suppressed resurfaced: "Mia..."
Mia held the phone: "Hmm? What’s up?"
The person paused for a couple of seconds, then said: "What I mentioned today about you joining Prosperity Group, you should really consider it. Since you want to leave your current agency, Prosperity is the best choice, with involvement in all fields. Once you’re there, you’ll have plenty of resources."
"But the primary focus of Morning Glory is music...not particularly suitable for you."
After Jensen finished speaking, he quietly waited for her response, not realizing that even his breathing had become lighter at that moment.
Mia quickly thought it over and had already made up her mind; she definitely wouldn’t confine herself to the idol industry. Compared to that, she preferred acting.
Having experienced many lifetimes and many lives in different dimensions, she enjoyed that feeling, so she never planned to be just an idol.
The talent show was just her springboard, nothing more!
"Got it, Mr. Sterling, I’ll think about it seriously."
Though that’s what she thought, she couldn’t say it out loud. If she did, Jensen would absolutely sign her into the company.
Because Jensen joined Prosperity based on his own skills, it seemed different in her view.
She wants to get in, but on her own terms. When her worth is high enough, she won’t need to contact the company; the company will naturally come to her.
So, she shouldn’t speak too definitively, right?
You call this neither accepting nor rejecting!
