Chapter 73: My Boyfriend Would Be Upset
CHAPTER 73: MY BOYFRIEND WOULD BE UPSET
"Besides, I have someone to take me home. My boyfriend arranged for someone to bring me back, so I don’t need you." Mia Sutton spoke gently, her tone innocent.
Martin Wright’s mind thundered loudly, as if something had collapsed. A few seconds later, he managed to regain his composure.
With great effort, he forced a smile that looked rather awkward: "Mia, surely you must be joking with me. You don’t have any male friends around you, how could you have a boyfriend so quickly?"
"You’re angry, but please don’t joke about things like this, okay?"
He found it difficult to speak, and if you listened closely, you could hear a slight tremor in his voice.
In the past, Mia Sutton always revolved around him. Maybe he got used to it, but he never imagined Mia would leave him one day.
Mia Sutton: "Who’s joking with you? I’m so good-looking, is it hard to find a boyfriend?"
Martin Wright suddenly felt choked, the words got stuck in his throat, and he couldn’t utter a reply.
Because he knew Mia was right, she had always been pretty, and now she was even more beautiful, especially after participating in the variety show where so many people liked her.
In an instant, Martin Wright’s inner thoughts wavered; he realized Mia was right.
She’s so beautiful, isn’t it easy for her to find a boyfriend quickly!
Simon Sutton watched coldly, satisfied with Mia’s performance. Today, if she dared to walk over, he wouldn’t have let her come through the door.
After listening to Mia finish speaking, Simon Sutton looked at the young man in front of him and said in a deep voice.
"In the past, it was Mia who insisted on being with you, which led to the engagement talks with your family. Now that you two are no longer connected, consider these plans void. Please inform your parents when you return."
Martin Wright’s fingers trembled slightly, his lips moved a bit, and after a while, he finally spoke: "Sorry for the disturbance."
"These things are a token of my goodwill, and I still hope... you can accept them." He said, looking at Mia.
Upon hearing this, Mia blinked slowly and then raised her hand to wave: "But I already have them. If I accepted yours, my boyfriend wouldn’t be happy."
Simon Sutton’s face darkened: "..."
First ’boyfriend’, second ’boyfriend’, why hasn’t she mentioned him?
Simon Sutton waved his hand: "Take them back, we don’t need anything. It’s the thought that counts."
Martin Wright lowered his head slightly, glanced at the things in his hand, his expression somewhat dazed.
Mia Sutton: "Aren’t you leaving yet?"
If this goes on, she’ll end up starving.
Martin Wright: "..."
"Then... I’ll take my leave now and find you another time."
Saying this, he turned to leave with his belongings, his footsteps faltering momentarily, even dragging heavily.
Mia Sutton: "..."
Please don’t find me again, isn’t it better to wait quietly for your heroine?
After Martin Wright left, the father and daughter stood silently before the door.
Just as Mia was about to speak, a voice came from inside.
"Aren’t you coming in, or are you planning to guard the door?"
Mia Sutton: "..."
Alright, it’s her mom.
Inside, Ashley Vance had listened for a long time, and seeing that the person had left, while the two by the door hadn’t come in, she spoke up.
Mia, playfully stuck out her tongue, and then dashed inside.
Mia Sutton put down the things she held and glanced around. The familiar feeling rushed over her; although she hadn’t been back for so long, almost nothing had changed at home.
