CHAPTER 416: NIGHT FUN 2
After what felt like hours, they finally stepped outside to catch a breath of fresh air. The cool night air felt refreshing against their flushed skin, and they leaned against the wall of the club, watching the vibrant city pulse with life.
"Tonight has been magical," Luna said, her voice filled with awe. "I feel like I can take on the world."
Orpheus looked at her with a mix of admiration and affection. "You already are. You’ve proven that to me time and time again."
Luna felt a warmth spread through her at his words, and she leaned in closer, feeling the connection between them. "Thank you for always being my rock."
"Always," he replied, his voice low and sincere.
With the excitement of the night still coursing through them, they decided to explore the city further. They wandered through the bustling streets, marveling at the exotic shops and the vibrant displays of magic and artistry. Luna felt alive and free, her heart soaring as they indulged in the sights, sounds, and flavors around them.
They stopped at a stall selling candied fruits, their vibrant colors enticing. Luna picked out a selection, her eyes sparkling as she offered one to Orpheus. "Try this! It’s amazing!"
Orpheus accepted the treat, taking a bite and nodding in approval. "Delicious!"
"See? This night just keeps getting better!" Luna laughed, her joy infectious.
As they continued to stroll through the streets, they came across a small stage where performers dazzled the crowd with a mix of music, dance, and magic. Luna felt the pull of the performance, and she tugged Orpheus closer to the front.
They watched in awe as the performers wove intricate spells and danced with grace, their movements captivating the audience. Luna felt the magic of the night wrap around her, and she turned to Orpheus, her eyes filled with excitement.
"This is incredible!" she exclaimed, her heart racing with delight.
Orpheus smiled, watching her with admiration. "You belong here, Luna. You were meant for nights like this."
As the performance came to a close, the crowd erupted in applause, and Luna joined in, her spirit lifted by the energy of the moment. She turned to Orpheus, her heart full. "Thank you for coming with me tonight. It means so much to share this with you."
"Every moment with you is a treasure," he replied, his voice sincere. "I wouldn’t have it any other way."
With the night still young, they decided to explore more of the city, wandering through the vibrant streets, soaking in the atmosphere and indulging in every experience that came their way. They tried street food, watched fire breathers, and even joined in a spontaneous dance-off with other revelers.
As the moon rose high in the sky, casting a silver glow over the city, Luna and Orpheus found themselves on a rooftop terrace overlooking the vibrant landscape below. The view was breathtaking, the lights of the city twinkling like stars against the backdrop of the night sky.
"This is perfect," Luna whispered, leaning against the railing and taking in the beauty around her.
Orpheus stood beside her, his presence comforting. "It’s moments like this that remind us of the beauty in life. You’ve embraced every challenge, and now you’re celebrating your victories."
Luna turned to him, her heart swelling with gratitude. "I couldn’t have done it without your support. You’ve been my guiding light through it all."
As they stood together, a comfortable silence settled between them, filled with unspoken words and shared emotions. Luna felt a rush of affection for Orpheus, a bond forged through their adventures, challenges, and victories.
In that moment, under the moonlit sky, she knew that this night would be etched in her memory forever—a celebration of not only her triumphs but the deep connection she shared with him, the one who changed her life forever, she could not live without him in her life anymore.
As the city pulsed with life below them, Luna felt a sense of belonging and joy that she had never known. With Orpheus by her side, she felt ready to take on whatever adventures awaited them, knowing that together, they could conquer anything. She genuinely love him, without everything she had.
Love is sweet, yet more as fresh fruit than candy or confectionary. Love is colourful, yet more as summer blooms than the neon lights of frenetic city streets. Love is steady and forgiving, yet more as the wise mother than the servant in chains. Love hears and speaks with the wisdom of the heart, with a sense of the soul of the other. In love we have our "forever home" and it gives us the ability to fly so freely, joyfully returning when each heart calls for the other’s touch.
’’Because your love is so whole, my missing pieces appear. Because your touch carries such passion, what was scarred becomes soft once more. Because you are steady and patient, my open wounds have time to seal and vanish. Perhaps that is why they say love is such magic, this gift from the universe, this sweet addiction to the man I was born to find. For with my twin soul, the only other born in the same flame as I, we are able to bathe one other in warmth and light as easily as we breathe, immune and oblivious to darkness.’’ she whispered those words inwardly, her eyes filled with nothing but love.
She had to express what she was feeling and now was the perfect moment to do so.
’’I love you. That means I would defend you with my life even if the odds were insurmountable. It means I will comfort you in the difficult and painful times. It means I will dance and rejoice with you when times are good. It means I will never betray you, never give up on you. It means finding my fire when you, my loved one, is threatened, yet never waging war - only doing what is necessary for a noble defence. Love says I forgive you when you err. Love says though life may test me I am yours into eternity and I will never abandon you. It means I will never put you in danger no matter how noble the "cause" may be. Love means protecting the earth, protecting humanity, being kind to animals, but should anyone demand your life to save their own I will tell them to rot in hell. There can never be a higher calling to me than protecting and caring for those I love. Love is not a concept for sheep, for sheep run at the first sign of fear; it is a concept for lions, so be brave my love and know that I am here."
Orpheus was pleasantly shocked by this declaration.
’’I love you too.’’ he simply said.
