Cursed Villainess’ Obsession
PAID Chapter 34
Ken's Fourth Night Away from the Tower
The fourth night had arrived since Ken had left for the Survival Event.
Inside the dark room of the tower, Raphne sat on the floor, surrounded by her dolls. Despite the late hour, she hadn’t gone to bed. Her empty eyes stared down at the ground as she hugged her knees.
Tears had stopped flowing since the third night.
Now, only a suffocating sense of loneliness and despair enveloped her, trapping her in that same position for hours on end.
Surrounded by her dolls, it wasn’t long before they began speaking to her.
[Raphne, you've been abandoned again. So pitiful.]
The first doll she had ever received gazed at her with pity.
[But it's okay! You have us, don’t you?]
The second doll tried to console her.
[We won’t ever abandon you!]
The third doll chimed in, echoing the sentiment.
Of course, the dolls didn’t actually speak. It was nothing more than the wild imagination of Raphne’s despair-riddled mind. But even these imagined voices played on her insecurities.
“No… no. Ken said he would come back… Ken promised he would come back.”
Tears, long absent, began to well up again as Raphne mumbled to herself, while the dolls around her seemed to mock her.
[Raphne, you’ve been fooled again, haven’t you?]
[Don’t get your hopes up. That’s why you keep getting hurt.]@@novelbin@@
[Give up on him. He’s probably living a happy life with someone else now.]
“No… no… no…”
The whispers born of loneliness and anxiety fed into themselves, dragging Raphne deeper into her despair.
Then, one of the dolls spoke again.
[Then why don’t you go check, Raphne?]
“…What?”
[If you don’t believe it, why not see for yourself?]
Raphne lifted her head, her gaze drawn toward the door Ken always entered through.
The following day, after joining Emily.
During a meal, we held a meeting to discuss our strategy for the remaining days of the Survival Event.
“…Wait, we’re doing nothing?”
