CHAPTER 115: CHAPTER 115: BACK TO HOW THINGS WERE

Ye Anxin’s face lit up with joy as she picked up a strand of noodles and brought it to Mu Beiting’s mouth.

Mu Beiting opened his mouth and ate it.

When Ye Anxin fed him the second strand, she noticed him frown and show displeasure.

Ye Anxin immediately realized her mistake and quickly ate the noodles herself.

Just like that, the two of them took turns eating the noodles until the bowl was empty.

Ye Anxin pulled out a tissue from the coffee table in front of the sofa and gently wiped away the barely visible oil stain at the corner of Mu Beiting’s mouth. She smiled and asked, "Uncle, was it good?"

Mu Beiting glanced at her and replied casually, "It’s okay!"

Ye Anxin wiped her own mouth, affectionately linked her arm with his, and curiously asked, "Uncle, did you stay home today just to keep me company?"

Mu Beiting turned to look at her and coldly asked, "Do you want me to go to the office?"

Ye Anxin shook her head quickly and said, "Of course not! I’m very happy that you can be with me, Uncle! Besides, you’re always so busy, you should take some time to rest at home! Work will never end! No matter how busy you are, you need to take a break!"

Mu Beiting did not respond and continued watching financial news.

Ye Anxin rolled her eyes and tentatively suggested, "Uncle, since you’re resting today, why don’t we go shopping? I haven’t gone shopping in a long time! We can go out for some fresh air!"

Mu Beiting pursed his lips but did not reply.

"Uncle, please? Pretty please, just accompany me!" Ye Anxin pleaded, though she had ulterior motives in her heart.

Seeing how hard Mu Beiting usually worked, she wanted to take him out for a walk, believing it would be beneficial for his physical and mental health. Staying between home and the office every day was simply too boring!

Mu Beiting remained silent, neither agreeing nor refusing.

"Uncle, if you don’t answer, I’ll take it as a yes! Great, I can finally go shopping with Uncle!" Ye Anxin’s eyes lit up with joy, and she hugged Mu Beiting’s arm, nearly bouncing with excitement.

Mu Beiting glanced at her silently and didn’t respond.

Ye Anxin didn’t pester him any further, just snuggled his arm and leaned on his shoulder, watching the financial news with him.

Just as Ye Anxin was about to doze off, the butler’s voice sounded beside the sofa, "Sir, Madam, the meal is ready!"

Ye Anxin immediately shook off her drowsiness, grabbed Mu Beiting’s arm, and stood up, "The food is ready, let’s go eat!"

Mu Beiting neither resisted nor spoke, letting Ye Anxin lead him to the head of the dining table.

Ye Anxin was really hungry. For the past two days, she almost lost her appetite because of being upset with Mu Beiting and ate very little. Now that they had made up, her appetite returned, and she started eating ravenously.

It wasn’t just Ye Anxin who was hungry; even Mu Beiting had lost his appetite due to his bad mood in the last couple of days.

For this meal, both Ye Anxin and Mu Beiting finished two bowls of rice and even had a bowl of soup.

The butler stood to the side, relieved to see them back on good terms.

Once they were full, Ye Anxin took out a tissue to wipe both their mouths, then held Mu Beiting’s big hand and pulled him upstairs, "Uncle, since we’re going out, let’s go upstairs and change."

Mu Beiting allowed himself to be led upstairs.

Ye Anxin led him directly to the master bedroom, opened the wardrobe, and attempted to pick a different outfit for Mu Beiting than usual!

But after searching all around, she found nothing but black shirts, whether it was suits or casual wear, everything was black! Finally, she found a set of white casual home wear in the far corner of the wardrobe.

Although this set of white casual wear looked a bit outdated in style, it still stood out among the all-black clothes.

Ye Anxin handed the clothes to Mu Beiting, "Uncle, how about this one?"

Looking at the clothes in Ye Anxin’s hands, Mu Beiting’s eyes darkened, and he said disdainfully, "Throw it away!"

Ye Anxin examined the clothes carefully and laughed, "Why throw away such good clothes? Judging by the quality, they must be expensive! The style may be a bit old, but the clothes are still quite new. It would be such a waste to throw them away!"

Mu Beiting tightly pursed his lips, and although he didn’t speak, his expression was firm.

Ye Anxin presented the clothes to him again, "Come on, Uncle, just wear it once!"

"No!" Mu Beiting pushed away the clothes Ye Anxin held out, his eyes filled with intense aversion.

"Alright, alright! If you don’t want to wear it, that’s okay!" Seeing his firm stance, Ye Anxin didn’t push him further, placing the clothes back in the wardrobe and taking out a set of black casual wear instead.

Mu Beiting silently accepted the clothes Ye Anxin handed him, and changed right in front of her.

Ye Anxin’s face flushed red instantly, and she quickly turned her head away in embarrassment.

Once he changed, Mu Beiting went to the wardrobe, searching through Ye Anxin’s clothes until he found a white short-sleeve dress for her.

"White?" Ye Anxin raised an eyebrow, a little surprised that Mu Beiting chose this one.

She had worn white clothes before, but it was usually a white T-shirt paired with jeans! She had rarely worn dresses, as she felt dresses were only for those with good family backgrounds; for someone like her, who had always been busy, dresses were impractical, and pants with short sleeves were much more convenient.

This white short-sleeve dress was a gift from Ling Yueyue on her birthday last year, meant for her to wear on a date with Mu Rufeng! But she found it bothersome to wear, so she had never worn it. Being a gift from Yueyue, she couldn’t bear to throw it away, so it had remained in her wardrobe as a cherished item!

She never thought Mu Beiting, who refused to wear white clothes himself, would pick something white for her! It’s quite strange?

Mu Beiting nodded, "This one is nice!"

"Alright then!" Since Mu Beiting liked it, Ye Anxin agreed, taking the dress and heading to the bathroom.

After changing into the dress, Ye Anxin looked in the mirror and realized she could actually look so pretty. Wearing the dress, her entire aura and demeanor were transformed!

Ye Anxin carefully examined herself in the mirror, making sure the traces of their intimacy from last night weren’t visible. Fortunately, the dress was conservative enough, with the collar at the collarbone! The marks on her neck were minimal and could be concealed with some foundation.

This ladylike dress seemed mismatched with a ponytail.

Ye Anxin pondered for a moment, then let her ponytail down, gathered two strands of hair behind her ears and tied them at the back of her head with a elastic band, accessorizing with rhinestones that matched the dress!

After a twirl in front of the mirror ensuring everything was in place, Ye Anxin stepped out of the bathroom.

When Mu Beiting looked up at her, he was momentarily stunned to see Ye Anxin walking towards him.

Ye Anxin held her skirt and spun in front of Mu Beiting, "Uncle, does this dress look good on me?"

Mu Beiting regained his composure, turned his head away awkwardly, and without answering her question, opened the door to leave.

Ye Anxin prepared to grab her backpack but realized it didn’t go well with her outfit!

Ye Anxin sighed helplessly and rummaged through boxes and cabinets to find a small handbag Ling Yueyue had given her.

Back then, to complement this outfit, Ling Yueyue had gone through a lot of trouble, matching the headpiece, clothing, handbag, and even bracelet!
