Mu Beiting, who had been focused on working with Pete, lifted his head when he hadn’t heard a sound from Ye Anxin for a while. Seeing her obediently curled up on the sofa reading, the corners of his thin lips formed a handsome curve, and then he bowed his head, fully immersing himself in work again.

Ye Anxin read intently, and Mu Beiting worked intently, until Judy came in to replace a glass of milk, neither noticed.

Unknowingly, it was noon, and Judy, as usual, called a restaurant outside on time to order takeout for delivery.

Time silently passed, one reading, one watching the person next to them! Like this, who knows how long it went on, until the office door was knocked, and Judy came in, saying as she entered, "CEO, the takeout has arrived, time to eat!"

Judy’s voice was not too loud or too soft, yet it caught Ye Anxin’s attention.

Hearing the word "eat," Ye Anxin suddenly snapped back to reality, realizing that Mu Beiting had somehow already sat beside her!

Ye Anxin folded the corner of the page she was reading as a bookmark, then closed the book, sat up straight, and asked softly, "Uncle, how long have you been sitting next to me? Why didn’t you call me?"

A trace of awkwardness flashed across Mu Beiting’s face, he turned away and said unnaturally, "Just got here!"

Upon hearing this, Judy paused from setting the takeout down, her head seemed to explode, and for a good while, she couldn’t recover!
