CHAPTER 216: CHAPTER 215: FEAR?

Mu Beiting rubbed his chin against Ye Anxin’s shoulder and in a husky voice said, "This room belongs to me alone!"

Ye Anxin asked, half-understanding, "...! Just like that private jet?"

Mu Beiting nodded, responding faintly, "Yes!"

Ye Anxin beamed and turned to hug his firm waist, "That’s great! Next time when there’s a chance, during the peak tourist season, you must bring me here to have some fun!"

Mu Beiting nodded, pressing his lips into silence.

Ye Anxin lifted her head from his arms, "Let’s go! Let’s rest for a while! Uncle has important things to take care of later!"

"Okay!" Mu Beiting nodded and released Ye Anxin.

"Uncle, you go shower first! I’ll get your clothes ready!" With that, she walked over to the suitcase.

Mu Beiting nodded, took off his jacket, and walked into the bathroom inside the room.

Ye Anxin dragged the suitcase into the room, opened it, hung the clothes in the wardrobe, and then placed their respective change of clothes on the bed.

Ten minutes later, Mu Beiting came out of the bathroom with a towel around his waist.

When Ye Anxin saw his hair dripping, she took out a clean towel, pulled Mu Beiting to sit at the bedside, and expertly wiped the moisture from his hair.

After she was mostly done, she got out of bed and gently said, "Uncle, take a rest while I take a shower."

"Okay!" Mu Beiting nodded, obediently lying on the soft bed.

Since there were new towels in the bathroom, Ye Anxin didn’t take any change of clothes with her. After showering, she came out wrapped in a towel.

When she came out, Mu Beiting was lying on the bed, seemingly unresponsive. She walked over quietly, only to find that Mu Beiting was already asleep.

Ye Anxin sighed with a smile, then stood by the living room window, drying her hair while watching the scenery outside.

As she approached the window, night was falling, and the afterglow of the sunset illuminated the sky. Gradually, half of the sky turned from white to red, a red glow appearing and expanding. In no time, the western sky was painted red. The evening glow reflected on the endless river surface, creating a line that seemed to connect heaven and earth, so beautiful that it was impossible to look away.

This scene was something Ye Anxin had never seen before! Unconsciously, she stopped drying her hair and her eyes focused on the horizon, unwilling to look away, fearing she might miss an even more beautiful scene.

Ye Anxin was so absorbed that she didn’t even realize how much time had passed until the evening glow completely disappeared, prompting her to reluctantly pull her gaze away.

So entranced was she that Ye Anxin even forgot the time and her current surroundings.

In the room, it was as if Mu Beiting had an internal alarm clock. Forty minutes before the meeting, he suddenly opened his eyes. The first thing he subconsciously did was reach for the space beside him.

When he felt the empty bed, he sat up abruptly and called out loudly, "Anxin!"

His voice carried a tension and panic that even he hadn’t noticed.

Suddenly hearing Mu Beiting’s voice from the room, Ye Anxin was startled and hurriedly ran inside.

Seeing Ye Anxin come into view, Mu Beiting visibly relaxed.

Ye Anxin sat on the edge of the bed, smiling widely, "Uncle, you awake?"

Mu Beiting frowned and asked discontentedly, "Where did you go just now?"

Ye Anxin playfully stuck out her small tongue, "I was by the window watching the sunset, lost track of time!"

Mu Beiting scooped her into his arms, his large hand gently stroking her hair that carried a faint scent of shampoo. His adam’s apple bobbed, and in a husky voice, he said, "Remember, whenever I open my eyes, the first thing I want to see is you!"

Ye Anxin deliberately said, "Is that why you brought me along on the business trip, uncle?"

Mu Beiting nodded, replying deeply, "Yes!"

Ye Anxin stealthily wrapped her arms around his neck, looked up, and said with a cheerful smile, "Alright, alright, so sappy! I get it, from now on, whenever you rest, I’ll be beside you to keep you company. Will that suffice?"

Looking down at her innocent and charming smile, Mu Beiting pressed his thin lips into a line, a complex emotion flickering deep in his eyes.

"Alright, it’s about time. Pete should be here soon! Time to get up!" Ye Anxin slipped out from Mu Beiting’s embrace and laid out the clothes she had already prepared for him.

Mu Beiting got out of bed, swiftly put on the clothes Ye Anxin handed him, then went to the bathroom for a quick tidy-up.

Just as everything was ready, the doorbell rang at the perfect moment.

Ye Anxin ran to open the door and, seeing Pete standing outside, quickly said with a smile, "Uncle is ready, Pete, you can wait a moment!" Just as she finished, Mu Beiting came out and stood behind her.

Pete maintained his composure and said, "President, the driver is waiting at the door!"

"Let’s go!" Mu Beiting nodded. Just as he was about to step out, he stopped, turned around, and looked at Ye Anxin, "Remember, don’t go out randomly!"
