Chapter 89: Defeating The Windcrest Clan’s Descendants!
CHAPTER 89: DEFEATING THE WINDCREST CLAN’S DESCENDANTS!
Soon, Jaran began to retreat.
I didn’t give him a moment of rest.
I controlled my attack and launched a powerful thrust forward.
Jaran deflected the attack.
CLANGG!!
"You’re playing with me!" He roared.
I was truly playing with him. I wanted to corner him slowly before defeating him to ensure that I didn’t risk scaring away the other members of the Windcrest Clan.
It would be disappointing and a shame if neither of them agreed to a duel.
I controlled my strength as I swung down.
CLLANGG!!
Jaran’s sword broke free from his grasp.
It flew in another direction and crashed to the ground.
I slashed upwards.
Jaran’s combat uniform tore open. Flesh and blood mingled together with fibre.
"ARGGGHHH!!" Jaran screamed.
He tumbled backwards and crashed to the ground.
I swung my sword again.
Again.
And again..
"I ADMIT DEFEAT!! I ADMIT DEFEAT!!"
Jaran screamed at the top of his lungs as he stretched his arms up, trying to protect himself.

I halted my attack.
I withdrew my aura and nodded.
Jaran pushed himself and then weakly crawled backwards. \
One thing that I’ve always been curious about is why Jaran, the strongest of the new generation of the Windcrest Clan Descendants, was in Class Three.
Even though there was no difference between the three classes in terms, the most talented and strongest nobles vied to be in Class One. Then, Class Two.
As such, the rankings in Class One were considered significantly harder to change than in Classes Two and Three.
Because of this, they developed a superiority complex, with Class One and Two feeling slightly superior to Class Three.
Only the top ten of each Class were an exception.
No matter their perception, no one was foolish enough to challenge a ranker in the top ten rankings simply because they were from another Class.
Was it because he was wary of Esther and the others, and thought that staying in Class Three would enable him to be a top ranker?
I had little doubt that his position in Class Three was based on chance alone, considering that Ivory and Milas were placed in the same class.
"Thank you."
I didn’t forget that it was his challenge that allowed me to obtain Spiral Fang.
If I didn’t have it, battling them would have been harder without exposing my strength.
Since the Zahara Clan descendants would soon learn of this event or were already informed, the less I revealed, the better my chances of resisting whatever they threw at me.
Jaran stared at me with a mixture of fear and disbelief, trembling.
"The winner of the duel is Ezekiel Zahara, third-ranked Magical Swordsman of Class Three!" Elric announced.
"Someone take the opponent off the stage and get him to the hospital quickly for treatment!"
His voice sounded slurrier than normal.
Members of the Windcrest Clan rushed into the inner circle at Jaran.
I didn’t bother to count how many there were as I turned and walked to my starting position.
I swung Spiral Fang to the side to remove the blood stain.
I looked at the Windcrest Clan descendants as they took Jaran and his weapon off the stage.
"Next!" I ensured my voice resonated across the training platform.
The crowds immediately erupted in an uproar.
"Hisss!! I thought the battle would come to a draw, but the Worst One had defeated Jaran!! I thought you guys in Class Three said that the Worst One was weak. Can you explain how he suddenly became a monster?!"
"I also need an answer! He has just defeated three top twenty-ranked Windcrest clan descendants in twenty minutes! And despite that, he still wants to fight again!! How come no one had noticed his skills until right now?!"
"My goodness! It seems that he really plans on duelling the entire Windcrest Clan descendants!"
"Hey! Do you guys think that he would have continued to hide his strength if Ivory hadn’t challenged him? Does anyone have any idea about why he’s hiding his strength in the first place?"
"I never knew that the Worst One could be so intimidating!"
The crowds glanced at the side of the Windcrest Clan descendants as they whispered to each other.
It wasn’t difficult for me to grab a few conversations.
Moments later, a young man stepped into the inner circle.
"I didn’t expect that we would encounter each other so soon after our last battle," I said, looking at Kiran with a smile.
’I... I was careless that time. Now that I’m aware of your capabilities, I’m confident that you will have a difficult time trying to defeat me," Kiran responded, his expression serious.
"Besides, you’ve already fought against Julian, Kaelis, and Jaran, so you should be feeling exhausted and mana-depleted by now. It’s already shameful that we have lost three times against the same person. And, it’s precisely because of that, we’ll do everything in our power to erase it."
"Ezekiel, with my strongest attack, I’ll defeat you."
"Instreating. The only difference now is that you have no support. Well... It’s not as though anything would change. But since you’re this determined, I want to see what your strongest attack is," I responded.
"Go ahead."
Kiran drew out his sword.
The sword was engraved with a unique design, indicating that it was a magical sword. Other members of the Windcrest Clan held such a sword. They were enchanted with a specific elemental resistance, piercing attribute, and so forth.
Other clans held weapons like this, with each possessing unique or similar enhancements.
They were superior to the enchanted iron swords provided by the Academy.
His sword shone with an azure glow, becoming blurry.
He lunged at me.
As he arrived in front of me, he thrust forward.
I sighed internally.
I had hoped that he would give me a surprise so I could keep up my pretence of struggling against each opponent, but as expected, I had hoped a little too much.
He was still too weak.
No! It was simply that I had grown stronger in such a short time.
Regardless, I had to end it quickly to avoid drawing suspicion.
I deflected his strike at the last moment.
I thrust forward as he attempted to dodge by widening the gap between us.
One minute later...

I dismissed the system’s alert.
"The winner of the duel is Ezekiel Zahara, third-ranked Magical Swordsman of Class Three!" Elric announced.
Kiran lay on the ground, battered and injured. On his torso was a visceral injury in the form of an X-shaped mark.
Before Elric could continue, the Windcrest Clan immediately rushed in and took Kiran out.
In the next moment, a young man stepped into the inner circle.
Darl stared at me with gritted teeth as he drew his sword, prepared for battle.
I raised my sword to counter as he lunged at me.
One minute later..

I defeated sixteen Windcrest Clan’s Descendants.
They became more hesitant to step into the inner circle.
If it weren’t for the crowd observing their every move, I doubted that they would have already turned tail and run away.
A member of the Windcrest Clan stepped forward.
Behind him were nine more remaining.
There were a total of twenty-five Windcrest Clan Descendants scattered across the classes within the Magical Swordsman Department.
"I don’t know how you’ve become this strong, but I’ll be the one to defeat you," he said, his eyes blazing with anger.
I didn’t bother responding.
Seeing this, he became angrier and unleashed his aura.
He lunged at me.
Twenty-one minutes later..

"The winner of the duel is Ezekiel Zahara, third-ranked Magical Swordsman of Class Three!" Elric announced.
I breathed heavily as I collapsed and lay flat on my back on the ground.
It wasn’t a pretence.
I was exhausted when facing the fifteenth opponent and even had to withdraw my aura and depend only on my swordmanship to defeat each opponent from then on.
I had also been fighting with an injuring.
I hadn’t used my sacred art; otherwise, the result might have been different. However, since my goal was accomplished, I felt a sense of satisfaction.
All that was left was for the system to calculate the rewards and hand them over to me.
I couldn’t help but be excited about what the bonus rewards would be.
"Someone take the opponent off the stage and get him to the hospital quickly for treatment!"
Elric turned to the Windcrest Clan descendants and realised that there was no one left to pick up the injured opponent.
He sighed and shifted his focus to the inner circle.
