Chapter 412 Move Out
CHAPTER 412: CHAPTER 412 MOVE OUT
Because Shen Yiguang was resolute and Shen Yixiang stubborn, she immediately expressed her desire to move out. There were arranged dormitories in the garment factory, and Yang PeiMin had previously discussed this with Sister Liu. Dormitories were essential for the factory, as secure housing allowed employees to work more peacefully. Shen Yixiang could still apply for a dorm, but it would be a shared space, not a private room.
Chen Guizhi tried to persuade her to no avail, so she approached Yang PeiMin for help, "PeiMin, look at Yixiang’s stubbornness. I’m really at my wits’ end with her, but I can’t set my mind at ease with her living alone outside; she’s never lived alone before."
Yang PeiMin looked at her helplessly, "Mom, it’s now about Yixiang not letting go of the issue with Lu Hailing. As soon as Lu Hailing settles down, we have to help her arrange a job. Isn’t this making things difficult for me?"
Chen Guizhi sighed, "I know, I know. I will talk to her properly. Oh, why don’t we have Mr. Lu come over and talk to her? She’s not listening to anyone right now, and by the way, let Mr. Lu take his sister back. Didn’t they say their mother is taking the train back tomorrow?"
"I’m not very clear about today’s events, you should discuss it with Yiguang."
Chen Guizhi sighed again, looking at Yang PeiMin, her words stopping short.
Yang Peiming then said, "Mom, it might be good for Yixiang to live outside for a while to see that the world is not as simple as she imagines. But don’t worry, the factory dormitories rent private courtyards, located in decent areas, exclusively occupied by factory workers, with kitchens and bathrooms."
"What about Lu Hailing?" Chen Guizhi still did not want her daughter to move out, but as her son and daughter-in-law were firm, she couldn’t persuade them and thus looked for other solutions, hoping Yang PeiMin would consider Shen Yixiang’s future relationship with her in-laws and help her because of their sister-in-law relationship.
Yang PeiMin got her meaning and chuckled, "It’s no big deal, just clear it up with them. Mom, Yixiang is an adult now; some things, we need to let go and let her try them. After all, we can’t always be by her side to make decisions."
Finally, Chen Guizhi sighed again and left.
Yang PeiMin watched her walk away, shaking her head, not knowing whether her words had sunk in.
Ah well, better leave this matter to Shen Yiguang. There’s a heap of issues at the school now; really can’t manage all this.
The next day, Shen Yixiang moved out, and Lu Hailing went with her. Chen Guizhi also went to check out the dormitory’s location, the environment, and since it wasn’t too far from them, she felt somewhat relieved.
Hai Jun had also been informed by Shen Yiguang, who had even come specifically to apologize, "When I heard this news, I wanted to come over overnight to take my sister back, but something made mother upset, and she fell ill, delaying the return trip planned for today."
However, the army only allows limited visits from family members. But now, with his mother unwell, the army relaxed the rules to let her stay a few more days till she recovered, so he could bring his sister back to the base and wait for his mother to recover before escorting both back to their hometown.
Seeing him well-prepared, Chen Guizhi felt much more at ease, her face brightening with smiles, "That’s good, that’s good."
Once Lu Hailing was taken back by him, Chen Guizhi suggested Shen Yixiang move back home, but Shen Yixiang, still stubborn, did not agree, claiming she was quite comfortable at the dormitory.
Chen Guizhi, unable to do anything, didn’t dare to ask her son and daughter-in-law to persuade her again.
After being turned away by Yang PeiMin last time, she felt somewhat uneasy.
After Shen Yixiang moved out, Yang PeiMin didn’t feel any different about their daily life; instead, Yang Peiying’s fast food business flourished even more. The siblings worked together diligently and expanded their operations across the neighboring factories. Yang Peijun was eloquent, thick-skinned, and bold. Yang PeiMin was somewhat surprised by this, as back home she didn’t know how capable he was at farming — she mostly heard Yang Dahai scolding him, saying he wasn’t as meticulous and reliable in his work as his older brothers.
Now Yang PeiMin saw him shifting the procurement to rural farmers, cutting costs and obtaining fresher vegetables. Together with Yang Peiying’s skills, many were willing to pay extra to eat at their place.
Every day he was full of zeal, the smile never leaving his face, not minding hardship or fatigue. Although they only served lunch, the quantity required them to start preparations before dawn. The trips were saved as farmers delivered directly, but they had to queue at the grocery store for meat since supplies were limited. Eventually, he thought of procuring poultry like they did vegetables, sourcing chickens and ducks directly from rural households. They delivered, but he had to slaughter and clean them himself before sunrise, then assist Yang Peiying in washing the vegetables and undertaking heavy tasks while she cooked. Yang PeiMin felt very gratified seeing this.
As for the salary, it remained as initially agreed: 50 yuan per month.
But later, Yang Peiying approached Yang PeiMin, saying, "Third Brother does more and harder work than I do; letting him earn so little doesn’t seem right. Sister, can you please consider adjusting this? I feel uneasy..."
Although Yang Peiying was soft-spoken and too readily believed others, she cultivated a valuable quality: gratitude.
Whether it was with anyone, when she started this business, she even planned to give herself a fifty percent profit share, feeling that she couldn’t claim it alone as the recipes were taught to her. Yang PeiMin didn’t agree, and Yang Peiying, stubborn, couldn’t think of another way but to spend the money on Lele, buying him toys and clothes. When the room began to overflow, Yang PeiMin quickly intervened, agreeing to take a share of the profits, but only ten percent for two years. Yang Peiying still disagreed, but in the end, Yang PeiMin forcibly settled on this one condition.
Now discussing Yang Peijun’s matter, Yang PeiMin also agreed to increase his salary. As for a profit share, that remained to be seen, depending on how far Yang Peijun could go.
