CHAPTER 628: CHAPTER 34: RISING OF THE XIAN DRAGON (PART 2)

With a "bang," a crisp clap-like sound echoed in the air, as dust kicked up and settled back down, both Xiao Xian and Yiyi looked at each other with surprise in their eyes.

Xuerou watched from the side, her heart pounding; this was the first time she had seen Xiao Xian and Yiyi take action against each other, both exhibiting the fruits of their recent cultivation training.

"Xiao Xian’s Spiritual Energy is different from Xu Lan Ya’s," Yiyi spun on her feet, grinding a circular mark into the sandy ground, while Xiao Xian stood unmoved. The last time she clashed with Xu Lan Ya, Yiyi had taken two hits from Xu’s Spiritual Bomb, so she had a bit of understanding about Spiritual Energy.

In comparison to Xu Lan Ya, Xiao Xian was focusing on sparring and had no intention to hurt Yiyi, using only about fifty to sixty percent of her strength. But this moderate force, while weak in effect, seemed to reflect back the force of Yiyi’s palm strike.

Undiscouraged, Yiyi lightly tapped her toe on the sandy ground and leapt about a foot high; this time, she used both hands and feet, her form like a nimble gecko soaring into the air.

Xiao Xian responded in kind, directing her Spiritual Energy towards Yiyi’s hands and feet. This time, before the Spiritual Energy could have an effect, it didn’t repel Yiyi’s hands again but was instantly absorbed, disappearing like a stone sinking into the sea.

Realizing something was off, Xiao Xian quickly dodged by tilting her head. A cool sensation brushed her face as a mass of fluid, shaped like an arrowhead, flew towards her.

This fluid was different from any standard liquid; when shot out, it suddenly became harder than steel, and held an edge of sharpness, forcing Xiao Xian to hastily retreat several steps. In those few steps, she nearly stepped out of the circle, on the verge of losing.

"Xiao Xian, next month’s cleaning duty is yours," Yiyi said, conjuring five blades of sticky fluid in her hand and swiftly thrusting them toward Xiao Xian.

"Don’t speak too soon, Yiyi, I was just about to get serious," Xiao Xian, abandoning her underestimation, positioned her feet deftly on the edge of the circle, darting like a butterfly’s shadow and dodging the incoming sticky fluid weapon.

Admiration flashed in both their eyes. They each knew that if the opponent was Xu Lan Ya and they held back even slightly, they would likely lose their lives.

Undeterred by two unsuccessful strikes, Yiyi refused to give up lightly and twisted the fluid in her hand, redirecting it towards Xiao Xian’s evasive movements to strike again.

Is this Yiyi’s new weapon? Observing that, as long as the enemy was in front of her, she could continuously track them, Xuerou was both amazed by the frightening flexibility of the fluid secreted from Yiyi’s hands and felt relief for Zhang Yiyi.

Yiyi, anticipating Xiao Xian’s move, only did not expect that the attack would come in the form of unremarkable flying scissors. The blade of the scissors flew, instantly piercing through the fluid and advancing close to Yiyi’s face.

"It’s not over yet," Yiyi said with a sly wink, revealing she still held a mouthful of fluid which she then spat out. This fluid, bizarrely, transformed into a rope-like form; the Spiritual Rhinoceros Scissors, caught in the spurt, were tightly wrapped up.

"Newcomers Zhu Xiaoxian and Zhang Yiyi, you’ve violated Campus regulations by fighting privately," interrupted Juliet One, emerging from the ground.

Upon seeing this, Xuerou hurried forward to explain that this was merely a friendly sparring match and not a real fight.

"If it’s a private spar, then enter the Central Computer where there’s a dedicated simulation platform for students above the intermediate level," Juliet One, seeing no signs of a serious fight and aware the three were roommates unlikely to have a conflict, said.

Juliet One also brought good news; after testing by Romeo One in Zone C, sixty-one percent of the area showed signs of plant growth. According to the Central Computer’s calculations, Xiao Xian had passed the additional test and could access the Central Computer at any time to receive her reward for completing this test.

Both Xiao Xian and Yiyi had seen each other’s weapons in real life; sparring consumed physical strength and Spiritual Energy. Given the simulation platform, it was more feasible to use it, and Xiao Xian was eager to discover what new intermediate course awaited her after passing the additional test.

"The intermediate course is entirely different from the basic courses; my new weapon was successfully transformed under the inspiration of the intermediate course," Yiyi, who had already advanced into the intermediate course studies among the three, shared. Xiao Xian, having just passed the test, could enter the intermediate course at any time. Xuerou was the last to join, but her foundational skills were solid; like Xiao Xian, her first-time test granted her access to the ultimate session of C-grade courses, and advancing to intermediate level was just a matter of time.
