CHAPTER 31: HUGE CRISIS (3)
Cassian followed through as his movements were still under the flow of the 6th Move—Unbroken Circle, continuing seamlessly to his next strike. Each motion connected perfectly with each attack and flowed smoothly.
The lizard’s movements slowed as wounds piled up on its body. One of its eyes burst from a precise thrust. Its tail, which had shattered the ground moments ago, fell limply.
But Cassian wasn’t unscathed, as a stray flame from its dying breath grazed his shoulder, scorching his skin.
The battle had turned silent for a brief moment. The Water Hippopotamus stood its ground, still gathering mana for another attack, while the Wood Cow bellowed again, its wounds glowing green as it began to regenerate.
At this time, an overwhelming pressure that was enough to make the Epic-ranked beasts shiver erupted from Nyxrael’s sword.
14 Beasts’s shadows rippled around his body like living flames, swallowing the light around him. A giant bear’s shadow overwhelmed the other 13 shadows as it stood arrogantly in front.
The two beasts in front of Nyxrael stopped their movements as fear took over them.
Then, Nyxrael vanished into thin air and appeared inside Cassian’s battlefield, more precisely near the Legendary Wood Cow, and immediately slashed his sword.
Swoosh!
A blinding crescent of abyssal energy howled across the ground, devouring in its path.
Even though the cow was injured and taken by surprise, as it had never expected that it would become Nyxrael’s target, it was still a Legendary-ranked beast. It instantly reacted by using all of its mana the moment it felt the extreme danger that could take its life from the incoming attack.
It then created three huge walls made out of thick wood and vines before using the remaining mana to create the thickest armor on its body.
Unfortunately for the cow, all of these efforts were futile, as Nyxrael’s attack immediately passed through the walls as if they were nothing and continued heading toward the cow at an extremely fast speed.
Before the cow could even make a sound, the attack had already engulfed it entirely. Its body disintegrated into nothingness in less than a second.
After Nyxrael’s strike erased the Wood Cow from existence, the ground trembled violently.
A deafening roar echoed through the plains as the Water Hippopotamus bellowed in rage. Its massive body surged forward, and in an instant, a sphere of condensed blue light formed in its gaping maw.
Wooossh!
A colossal stream of water exploded outward, cutting through the air like a divine cannon, aimed directly at Nyxrael.
But before it could reach him, Cassian appeared in front of Nyxrael instantly. He swung his sword that glowed with radiant brilliance downward and cleaved the attack apart. The water cannon split in two and crashed harmlessly to the sides, splitting the ground open and flooding it with boiling mist.
Cassian’s boots skidded against the soaked earth as he exhaled softly. "Good work, Nyx." He said and waved his hand casually. "Go back to your previous opponents."
Nyxrael nodded once. "Understood, my lord."
With that, he vanished from sight and returned to the two beasts that he had left, used his ultimate skill, and killed the cow.
Cassian turned his gaze forward. The Fire Lizard was already staggering as its scales cracked and blackened.
Beside it, the Water Hippopotamus stood like a fortress with its watery aura surging like a raging sea.
The Fire Lizard roared as molten fire spewed from its mouth. Cassian moved like lightning in response, his body vanishing and reappearing behind the beast with his (Flash Step) skill.
He then swung his sword once as he used his (Luminous Severance).
A crescent of radiant light tore through the Fire Lizard’s spine, burning through flesh and bone.
The beast screamed, but before it could even turn around, Cassian twisted his blade and swung his sword. The seamless motion turned into a follow-up strike that cut through its neck and severed its head.
The Fire Lizard’s head rolled to the ground, its flames dying out into smoke.
Just as Cassian killed the lizard, a torrent of water slammed into him from the side.
Boom!
Cassian crossed his arms, blocking the hit with a radiant barrier of light, though the sheer force still pushed him back a dozen meters. His breath came heavier as his shoulder was still bleeding from earlier burns.
The Water Hippopotamus roared again, fury burning in its deep blue eyes. Its body gleamed like liquid steel as waves rippled beneath its feet. The ground cracked as it stomped forward, and water erupted around it like a storm tide.
Cassian steadied his breath and raised his sword. "Perfect. Right where I want you."
He began moving, deliberately moving in precise steps. Each step seemed random, but there was actually intent behind it. The angle between him, the Water Hippopotamus, and the distant Tyrant Crocodile gradually aligned.
The air trembled as Cassian gathered mana into his blade. His golden aura flared brighter and brighter until it was almost blinding. The ground cracked beneath him, unable to withstand the force gathering within his body.
Even the beasts stopped for a moment as they sensed the danger.
Cassian murmured softly with a firm expression written on his face. "Seventh Move—Crushing Majesty."
He then swung his sword as he used the (7th Move—Crushing Majesty).
A single, overwhelming wave of golden light erupted outward. The strike cut through the air, tearing through space itself as it collided with the Water Hippopotamus head-on.
The beast’s body was instantly cleaved in two. The sheer force didn’t even allow it to scream. Its massive form disintegrated into water and blood as the attack continued past it—unstoppable.
The light slash extended for hundreds of meters, carving a massive trench across the plains, and slammed straight into the Transcendent Rank Tyrant Crocodile in the distance.
The crocodile roared furiously, its obsidian scales glowing dark red as it crossed its massive forehead in defense.
BOOM!!!
The explosion that followed shook the entire battlefield.
Even from afar, Nyxrael and the others paused mid-fight as a golden light illuminated the entire sky.
When the smoke cleared, the Tyrant Crocodile was still standing, but blood dripped from its head as a deep gash ran from its snout up to its left eye. Its breathing grew heavier, and rage filled its monstrous gaze.
